    Great Video... Its just how I learned it in class but 100x quicker.. took structure 3 years ago.. currently taking sedstrat and totally forgot how to measure S/D.. Thank you for this perfect tutorial. My memory is refreshed!

      B J Of course it’s going to take you longer in class to learn it. It’s all about how much money the school can rape idiots out of. I went to a technical college and earn more than most idiots that majored in any BOS degree. Keep wasting your time in college. You’ll have a ton of debt to repay on a McDonald’s pay scale. Too many people in college thinking they will get rich. Welders make way more than college grads these days. And they don’t owe any college loans.

    Good demo. In addition to strike and dip, I can find accurate time, latitude and longitude with my Brunton.

    The other person who replied was pretty rude. I'm not sure if you're still wondering since you asked over a year ago, but this compass is mainly for geologists. It is very helpful in mapping geologic structures. Obviously that is vague, but you get the idea.

    What is this used for? I am interested in knowing how to determine lat/lon with the compass as well as time? Can you show us that as well?

    The Olmec people may have been the first to have invented the compass very little is know for what or why.

  • @IamNemoN01

    First, WHY would someone want to know the angle of a rock?
    Secondly, Would you say that this Compass is good for general sea and land navigation?

    • @738polarbear
      @738polarbear 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is EXCELLENT for navigation . It is also a geological compass and that is WHY people want to know rock angles . Mining and geology . can gather a lot of information from striation strike and dip.
