    It's called a 'compensated saddle' - and improves the intonation; look at the saddle of a decent electric guitar that's been setup properly! I'm thinking of one of the larger models for this year - if I can get confirmation that the neck shape and size is the same as or very clse to that of a modern strat!

    I just ordered the midnight satin today! I also had a yamaha just like you for years and I’ve been looking for a great upgrade. I love that the body size and scale is smaller but still a little bigger than a parlor.

      I just bought one in Midnight Satin from the pawn shop today (for $180) and the finish/color is amazing. The sound is pretty good raw, but the piezo pickup sounds awesome, especially with a chorus effect.

    Could you recommend what size case I should buy for this?

    • @devlnbowden
      @devlnbowden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I don't have that much knowledge on cases for this particular guitar, but from some brief research, you should have no problem getting a soft case. If you looking for a hard shell case, that might be more challenging to find. Hope that helps!

    Hi, Devin! I heard from another reviewer that the action was really high on the Malibu. Did you find that to be true also?

    • @devlnbowden
      @devlnbowden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally mine is okay, my local guitar store gave me the option to get one brand new out of the box, not sure if that made a difference. hopefully that helped.

    • @texascommtech637
      @texascommtech637 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      IF that is so, (and I don't know, as I have never played a Malibu), it is always a very smart decision to take your brand new guitar to a KNOWN, EXPERIENCED, HIGHLY REGARDED GUITAR TECH/LUTHIER. A good tech will go over EVERY parameter, literally inspecting and measuring it inside and out, and will then make upgrades, changes, improvements, adjustments, etc, to ensure that your new guitar is not only the best it can be, but especially to make sure that it is tweaked and personalized for YOU, so that it is the easiest it can be for YOU to play, so that the sound is the best that guitar can possibly produce, and so that the guitar was built to the highest standards. A guitar maxed out and then maintained on a regular basis by a good luthier can help ensure that IF you decide some day to sell it and upgrade to something else, you'll be able to sell it for the highest amount, possibly for what you paid and invested in it, maybe even more! Be sure to keep all receipts, notes by your guitar tech, etc. IF your guitar did not come with a hard case, I would definately get one! Best of luck to you, Jessica.

    The last thing that I want to see in a guitar review is a guy rambling for 5 min straight about the story how he came across guitar.
