you probably damaged the suede. try cleaning them again but use a suede brush or a soft tooth brush and be gentle with it. then after its all dry use a brass bristly brush and that should reset the suede back to its soft form. but like i said if the suede is damaged then theres nothing much you can do.
if you cleaned them you need to use the reshoevn8r brass bristle brush and use that on them. it resets the suede and gives it that soft feel again. only brush in one direction tho, if you brush back and forth then it will damage the materials.

theres no need to run water over the boots after. i just did that to show how well the water repellant works
