Best DJ ever I feel truly blessed I lived in the Bay Area when he was mixxin it!
4 ปีที่แล้ว +3
In the summer of 1988 I moved to Sacramento, CA to spend the summer with my older brother. One night I turned on the radio, and I picked this radio station from UC Davis, it was Camron Paul on the college radio broadcasting his show at the college. I have been a DJ since 1985, and I never heard such talent coming from the radio. I'm not from the bay area, am from Los Angeles, and trust me... I heard some bad ass DJ's back in my days, but Camron was different... he had a... New York style of DJ-ing if you ask me. In any event, I was glued to the radio, and I taped all his shows. To this day I will never forget CP, or KMEL, and City Nights Night Club! Thank you CP for being part of my childhood, and giving me such great mixes. RIP my brother!
Same bro .. I used to go to city nights and listen to KMEL just to go check him out IN THE MIX HERE IS ONE OF MIXES. He inspired me as well th-cam.com/video/lXZJlmBTe9g/w-d-xo.html
Being in the DJ BOOTH with CP was a highlight each weekend I visited with Bobby G our Record Pool Director RIP Cameron & Bobby G THE BEST DAYS IN MY LIFE ❤
Just found this out,I'm crushed. he was a major part of growing up in the Bay area!To me he was the DJ who till this day set the bar to which everyone else in the industry has failed to eclipse!only a couple come close!after getting screwed over by CUT THROAT KMEL he was gone! Now he's really gone!!! RIP Cameron Paul...
WOW!!!! Cameron Paul I remember hearing him on KSOL, KMEL and seeing him in San Jose at ab event ksol had called the whoo and revenge of the Whoo he was Mixxing live along with Michael Ericson it was off the hook!!!! that's the day I decided to become a Dj. Mixx whe Mixx it came out itwasobe of the best record pulls there was I all his Mixx it 12inch records .R.IP. Bro
Thanks for the upload! Cameron Paul, True Legend!!! He invented fire on the 2 turntables. They will never make 80s music like that again. RIP, your mixes will live forever!
This is D.J. 'K', an old school DJ from around the way. Cameron Paul called me once when I was on the air at my college radio station, KCHO at Cal State University Chico. I was just reminiscing about him and sharing TH-cam links with my Sound for Film Production teacher at my new college. I had always wanted to meet him in person, but I guess that will never happen. Does anyone have a link to his obituary, or news article discussing how he passed?
i remember 1st hearing about this DJ from Studio West then hearing him on KSOL.he is a Legend and Oriiginator in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area DJ Scene. Without him setting the template for mixing well those who know just know. DaFRozen1 DJ FREEZE
Cameron was the one that shape the dj scene and made many want to be a dj. Listening to him since the Studio West days and on the mix radio shows on KMEL and wild fm or Ksol. The guy was a genius with dance music and could mix in and out flawlessly. Sad some crap went down with club and radio politics and he faded away quietly. When he was dying from stage 3 cancer, I followed him on fb about 3-4 years ago. He was in another state working as a vet and many didn’t know he was this legendary Bay Area dj. Sad when ppl. just forget you and only want you to be associated with you, only when when you’re on top. But before he died, he knew many from the bay wished him well and appreciate him for what he started in the dance dj scene. Yeah, ppl. can be cruel and the ugly part of human nature. Few ppl. are loyal to the very end and for the rest, they ain’t got time for that and move on.
This guy had it all. Best DJ that made mix's back then. So much memories so much great time so much has change but Cameron Paul thank you for everything u put in them mix's brother god bless you and mad respect to you.
Cameron Paul in my opinion is probably THE BEST FREESTYLE AND DANCE REMIXER IN THE U.S.of A' EVEEEEEEER !!!!!! Anyone who put a dislike after his death is only jealous and kidding themselves. Stop ! You Know This Man Was Phenomenal with the art of REMIXING. END OF STORY WHATSOEVER ! :P
The only thing that compares to this is when Frankie knuckles passed. Yeah I said it! CP was a mix wizard but his biggest contribution is the joy he brought and how many people like me that he inspired to become a dj or to be a better one.
Wud up bro !!!! I remember meeting you on myspace. Found your break beat music on there. Got to give much respect for this mixx homie. You killed it on this one !!!! R.I.P. to the Legend Cameron Paul !!!!
Can't forget the day my schoolmate played CP's remix of American-Soviet on a turntable around July 1987 (that was 31 years ago) I was stunned by the tune, hooked into CP and made me want to become a DJ. Didn't have much info about him back in the days since the internet barely existed in my country. Only to find his page on FB a few years back and now he is gone. RIP Cameron....you have left a great legacy of mixes!!
He inspired me as well. Cameron REST IN PEACE my brother thank you for being my mentor. You will always be remembered as the greatest pioneer of MIXXING. (7 Turntables at Studio West in San Francisco). God bless your soul and comforts your loved ones and your fans behind.

Like many of you, he was a tremendous inspiration to me and one of the reasons I started DJ'ing. I used to love to watch him perform his craft and how his mixes and music selection transcend the dance-floor at Studio West and City Nights in San Francisco. My he Rest In Peace,.
