Some aren't crazy about this installment, but for me it was a worthy addition to the Bourne franchise. Plus it has Rachel Weisz in it 😍
Not only addition to the franchise. I would rank it no.2 in the franchise, second only to the original.
To me it was one of the best in the series......Renner does a fantastic job and you throw in Weisz and you have a superb movie.
imma simple man.. i see rachel weisz i watch...
she ages well
the first half of the film is great, but was let down by a weak ending i think
Renner is a top notch actor.
I love how one guy takes a kitchen table to the jaw!
shows you the super human strength of Jeremy Renner's character
wait...did he really kill him with that move???
@@jonluk Yes, died instantly due to massive blunt force trauma to the face cause Runner's character is basically a super soldier but realistic.
He may not looks that charming, but Jeremy Renner is one of my favorite actors as every role he’s played, especially this one.
Love him in Wind River, one of the best movies I've seen in recent years. I'm REALLY disappointed there was never a sequel to The Bourne Legacy.
Also at MI.
I don't mind how he looks. Even Matt Damon isn't Brad Pitt or Pierce Brosnan. In terms of the character, Renner does a job in making him unique.
I second that and agree with you 💯 💖
anyone would be a better choice for a cia role or special ops dude or assasin then renner he's like the dish washer. why you think he nearly killed himself shoveling snow.
This is a grossly underrated movie. The only weakness in it is the lack of a final big fight between Cross and the LARX agent.
Exactly. LARX was a dud.
@@beck4218 Right? Taking him out with a motorcycle crash? Wtf were they thinking?
But Cross is apparently Bourne after all without Matt Damon
Absolutely agree. The fact we didn’t get a showpiece fight sequence with the even more enhanced assassin was a missed opportunity. When the film came out, there was talk of eventually pitting Aaron cross against Jason Bourne, with cross as the antagonist. That would have been fascinating
Too many chase scenes
Renner is fantastic !
The whole time she was hiding I thought "pretty sure the guy fired 2 rounds and she fired 4 during her dash, so that revolver's dry," so it was nice to have the movie pay that off when Cross finally reaches her.
Cross knew that the revolver was empty. That's why he walked straight into the room without thinking much, else he would've walked carefully
At least she listens...unlike the British reporter....
Bourne: Don’t Run!
Reporter: Runs *Dies*
Also the Reporter: Why did I die?
The British reporter is the King Viserys, who just died in House of the Dragon last week. LOL
@@AkiraNakamoto I have to say that Paddy Considine played a very convincing freaked out Guardian journalist: he brings his best to every role, no matter how little he has to work with.
This one was the best of all
Finally someone said it 😊
This is my favourite scene from all the Bourne movies.
love the parkour move at 3:24.
Favorite part
Too bad he had a harness on (that was digitally edited out) to lift him up for this, as per "behind the scenes" footage. In retrospect, it does come off looking far too easy here.
@@debestcanadian That lens flare was way too obvious
The green pills bro! 😅
My God, Rachel was just stunning in this movie.
She's just stunning!
@@terryoneil7128 Extra stunning then...
@@jeddiajones4570 agreed!
...and everywhere else.
Equal to any other movies of the Bourne Franchise. Perfectly paced, stunning action, good dialogue & characters, Renner & Weiss make a good team.
I always liked this flick. 55% score on Rotten Tomatoes? Definitely underrated!
Shame we never got another Film centered on Cross. Who knows, maybe the Sixth One they have in Development might possibly have Bourne and Cross Team-Up (Hopefully).
JEREMY DEFINITELY HOLDS UP HIS END OF THE BARGAIN.... VERY WELL DONE AND IVE WATCHED THIS MULTIPLE TIMES ..... because its just REALLY GREAT ACTION AND SUSPENSE!!
That lady who plays the fake psychologist always plays these types of characters. In almost every series she is in, she's a shady government official.
That's the trouble with the casting agents.
She did perfect the final scene of True Grit as the grown up Mattie Ross.
Think she even worked for the Post Office....
She's got that kind of shady, bossy look.
I always liked this movie better than the other Bourne ones, it just seemed more gritty, and it didn't have the shaky cam.
The shaky cam is incredible. This movie seriously misses it
Nope. Shaky cams are terrible, a total disservice to any movie
This scene is so intense and kinematic! 😀 I don`t care if it`s not realistic, it`s just pure enjoyment. But it's also very realistic. 😃
Meh. "Let's split up, and fight the interfering guy one at a time" doesn't seem realistic to me. If they had all three gone upstairs, right after he went into the basement, then they could have completed the mission..
I completely understand why some people don't like Legacy since it doesn't have quite the writing quality or the sense of intrigue... but to say it was bad or boring is just a disservice to it. I enjoyed the compelling through line that he was fighting against his body going back to normal, and the action choreography was on par with the rest of the Bourne movies, if lacking in new ideas. Plus the sequence in the medical facility was just brilliant
People don't like it because it doesn't follow the Bourne Legacy book, is that simple.
@@nobytes2 maybe Bourne purists, but there is dislike from the general public too, which I disagree with. Its somewhat mediocre, but there is far worse movies.
@@NightingaleSunset I personally read the Legacy book, I still like this movie because it introduces a good backstory about these super soldiers that was partially revealed in the first three. Action scenes were good imo. I like Jeremy since his SWAT days. I think another big reason people dislike sequels if we can even call it that since is in a parallel time from the previous one, but is a new cast and people really hate cast changes.
How?
@@nobytes2 Outside of Identity using the Basic Premise of an Amnesiac Assassin on the run, all of the Bourne Films are Adaptations In Name Only.
Man! I really hope Renner makes a full recovery. He’s awesome!!
DOC!!! I'm going to need my watch....
This movie is ahead of its time. Bioweapon labs in developing country, how the alphabet agencies end their secret programs by wiping out people who know something or work in the programs similar to the "Three Days of the Condor". Very classic and realistic spy movie.
Predictive PROGRAMMING …
What bioweapons labs?
@@raymondc8156 Have you heard of Wuhan Biolab in China and SARS-CoV-2?
@@Anna_Raphael that's one, care to share another? not sure Id call China a developing country...
3:20 - you know JR in in shape..
They admitted they used an overhead cable and CGI'd it out. But yes he still had to be in shape.
That's cables, dude! U r very naive 😁

主人公が撃ちやすいように、工夫する戦術はすごい
敵を向きをコントロールするのは凄い
This is my favorite Bourne movie.
u must be joking!!
This is, as several others have said, an under rated movie. The "sci fi" elements were the weakest part for me, but this scene was great. I really loved that the assassins really did look like regular people, but once the fight starts, they totally feel like a real threat to the protagonists, like when the woman has been shot and she's NOT impervious to pain, but it jsut really f**king tough. I also love that they have clearly done this before and they are practicsed at faking the suicide. These aren't just hired muscle, they are as dangerous as Jason Bourne or Aaron Cross.
Excellent sequence 👍👏👏
I was hoping for a sequel.
1:35 Goon 1: Hey, he ran into the basement that only has one way out, should I follow him?!
Goon 2: Yeah, go!
2 exits
Cross was unarmed, and they couldn't leave an enemy combatant in their rear to circle around. Send one guy after Cross, then two armed ones after the doc, who actually has a gun.
Also, the basement had THREE exits, if you count Cross's window.
This was the best Bourne movie.
sure, the best 4th Bourne movie ever
No it wasn't....not even close to the first 3
You have your taste i guess. But your taste is wrong lmao. It is a good movie on its own though. I enjoyed it.
I mean, I liked it, but no.
Stop..
Tony Gilroy certainly knows how to make intense fight sequences. So it's too bad the overall movies was flat. But I think this is one of the best action sequences of modern cinema. Definitely up there with the initial Bourne Identity fight sequence in Paris!
Great action sequence!
Every time I read about a person committing suicide right before they go public with info/testimony, I think of this scene and a similar one from the movie Shooter. These scenes are based off of real life techniques that governments use (ex: CIA has admitted in congressional hearings and leaked/declassified documents to the use of assassination techniques like this and many others, such as the heart-attack-gun, but obviously emphasize that it is only used in foreign countries). I always wonder how many other people think of this scene when reading about things like whitewater, the Lumumba assasination, etc, and if it is as disturbing for them as it is for me knowing that the technique being depicted may not be as fictional as we truly realize.
I do.... and every time i watch this scene i get chills.
Rachel is such as amazing actress as well.
The whole dialogue leading up to this scene is acted superbly!
Love this movie would have been great to have a sequel
I actually loved this movie. It's so underrated
Shoulda known they was messin with Hawkeye. What were they thinking??
I loved this scene !
some people didn't care for this movie but I liked it ... for me it was done good....
The D-track team with Choate folders!
realizing he gave her the glock to shoot and not the sig. dude assumed his teammate was doing the shooting. they all know the sound difference
My second most favorite of the Bourne franchise.
As you can see here that Jeremy is in fantastic physical condition and that is why he was able to bounce back from his horrible accident!
I loved this movie, more than the Bourne ones really. I kinda wanna see a "cross" over.
Actually a really terrific film.
Of the ones I've seen, this is my favorite Bourne movie. Wahi' Valleys
I loved it..and you did a dam great job..Listen to the Wind..you will know Buddy..much love
'The Bourne Legacy' was a pretty great movie for the most part, with an excellent cast and some really rewatchable action sequences. I must've seen the entire film about three or four times now, and the only thing that bothers me is the sudden and deeply unsatisfying ending - like they either ran out of ideas or they ran out of budget. Pity. But that still places this installment in the franchise way ahead of the 2016 'Jason Bourne', which I found utterly forgettable.
Love this movie. Great action scene!
Outstanding movie!!
He was the better bourne of them all .
10 points for ambition; -20 points for execution.
The fights are more organic .....the Bourne film has fancy choreographies but this one had to the point fights .....fastly cut but clearly visible....
I still think this was a very good movie
I always preferred this film over the other Bourne franchise. The others with their sped-up fight sequences and Bourne traveling the world to escape the villains with never a hat or sunglasses or beard or any semblance of a disguise to conceal his identity. …a joke.
I really enjoyed this movie.
Great movie!
I think it's by far the best Bourne movie
Rachel Wiez is wonderful
The only person who runs out of ammo is the Lady scientist!
このあたりのシーンは好きです!!
He single-handedly took out the D-trac team but the next thing through the door will wipe them out.
I liked the movie. Enjoyed it.
He sure waited until the last second to come out of the closet.
We're here to help you! HAHA
This was the best Bourne movie by far....
Great scene.
Excellent
Nothing wrong with this flick at all. I enjoyed the different perspective and story behind another outcome agent. This is a good action film. I don't know why they didn't follow-up with another one with these two characters.
This was way before Budapest.
That’s David Leitch!! Though he looked familiar - checked with IMDB
I have to say I like Renner in that movie it’s good
The only issue for me in an otherwise superb film was the idea of the program tweaking the genetics with the chems rather than going with superior training methods by which Jason Bourne was supposedly trained. I liked the tie-in to the previous three and even felt disappointed for Pamela Landy that nothing came of the whistleblowing.
It kind of takes the fun out of it. We project ourselves onto the protagonists and so we want our characters like Jason Bourne to be highly skilled, creative and outwit the bad guys even though they have fewer resources or adverse circumstances. In this movie, the protagonist has these amazing brain steroid drugs so he's less relatable and his skills feel unearned
Bourne was Treadstone..the first program?..and with his going rogue, I think it works that they tweaked other subsequent programs to guarantee more "obedient" assassins. Cross was a soldier after all, with the drugs giving a boost to an already existing skill set.
I never watched any ogf the bourne movies, except this one! Ant person who can dive into chunky ice3water gets a 10 in my book
Shearing just wasting rounds instead of being helpful.
Clint saves both mother widow and daughter widow. No wonder Natasha loves Clint.
Renner is top notch.... A worthy alternative to the other guy
Obrigado
*hey, doc, I need my watch doc!
A Shame we didn't see Renner, again.I love this film the best bourne better than Damon he is
I must have been tired AF the first time i watched this movie because I absolutely hated it. Now, I LOVE it!!! Go figure 🤷🏼
He would have called for Connie when he came out of the basement
I liked it
What is the name of the actress who played the role of the doctor?
I always saw this as a Hawkeye prequel. 😏
excellent action scene
Who would win, Jason Bourne original or John Wick?
Can anyone explain to me the trick at the top of the stairs when Aron Cross gives the Dr HIS watch a glock and he blindly shoots 2 double taps though the door?Really cool but how?
He knows how tactically trained personnel move when clearing a structure, so he estimates the time it will take for the agent to come up the stairs. He knows the sound of him closing the closet door will bring the agent up the stairs and toward the closet. He gives her the watch and the gun so she'll know when to fire, giving the agent an immediate threat that will bring him up to and beyond the closet. Then he listens to the sound of the agent moving and fires as he arrives in the kill zone. He knows he's shooting blind, so he comes out of the closet drawing down on the fallen agent to make sure he's dead.
@@nathancamp6883 So THAT'S what happened! Thank you so much, I always wondered what was going on!

I wouldn't mind this movie if it wasn't associated with the Bourne franchise. Give it another name, switch the names and references out to be its own original film. I will give credit that the action sequences and the ideas are good. Even Jeremy Renner does a rather good job in his role. But for it to be in connection to the Bourne films was setting the bar far too high, especially when having a title as "The Bourne Legacy".
I don't know if the connection with the Bourne franchise was the problem. I think the movie title was the only problem. They could have kept it in the Bourne universe and be its own spinoff.
@@gyrogerg The title definitely is a big problem. With a name like "The Bourne Legacy", it makes one think that Bourne is in it. I'm not sure what the title should have been. One of my working title ideas was "The Cross Conspiracy" (since the main character is named Cross) or "Aftermath".
