I think Scorcese was analyzing Al Pacino hand gestures and he approved it. He was looking at his hands. I think he approved this scene specially because of Al Pacino hands gesture. They are both geniuses. It's those kind of nuances that make them great.
It’s cool to see, for sure. I was thinking he was making sure the flow of Pacinos speech was perfect, musical. But maybe he was just mimicking hand gestures. The master. Pacino did an amazing job
Holy shit this footage is GOLD. I gotta be careful to not watch too many of these before I spoil the movie lol. But every single scene here looks fantastic, makes me even more hyped.
I loved The Irishman and i enjoyed it alot and the De Aging effects when they made Robert De Niro , Al Pacino and Joe Pesci younger in the flashback scenes were amazing 😊!
@@EdRickerVlogs I think she was referring to the actual film (Sheeran an old man). I think she also meant deNiro, since I don't know of any Denero involved in the film.
About gangsters, murderers, but still people... What an attention from director to his actors: I chose you, you're the best, do the best you can! It's awesone to see Martin Scorsese directing and that calm, humour and discipline ! Awesome!
L is for Fuck you and your simplicity buddy. Watch real movies. Marty was right, that flash in the pan stuff won’t last, outside of lethargic nerds showing up to troll it and people with kids under 4 needing flashing lights to entertain.
I agree with Scorsese's statement, Marvel movies are a frozen meal, they all have the same taste since the construction of the movies are similar. A film like this by Scorsese is different from any other movie, it's a beautiful restaurant dish: it has its own taste, its own peculiarity. Disney in general in the last years went for ready-made productions: you can see it in star wars, in marvel, in their live actions, in their animated classic movies though, it's always been there sine the beginning, but the rest is just a big money machine with no soul in it. That's where the problem is, people are ok with frozen meals, but then if you give them a 5 stars meal, their taste will change.
Yeah, there's an entire industry that used to exist with television to hide so many little flaws - an actor could roll in from a night of partying and they could make him look fresh. Example: The work done with Kurt Russell had a lot of digital help but they also had his long-time makeup guy do a lot of work as well.
Fun fact, I was walking to and back from school when I saw the whole crew filming on my town’s town hall. They changed it to the teamster brotherhood HQ where Hoffa was walking out after JFK’s assassination. Best thing I ever saw
Say what you want about the movie. Seeing De Niro hug Pacino is just so awesome. Just a bunch of old buddies getting back together for one more go around. So fucking golden.
It has been a long time since i was this ansious about a movie, those 80's scorcese movies aura is here... this is beautiful... i'm happy the reviews are good.
I have no problem with sex scenes and nudity if the story requires it. If it makes sense. The Wolf of Wall Street showed the rampant, anarchistic life of these new-rich crooks in all their unbridledness. All the sex and the drugs give the viewer a feeling for it. They are important for the eventual fall of the main character. It makes sense. Nudity only because of nudity is like action only because of action. Like in the Michael Bay films. Then it's just boring
Best Picture Best Director Best Actor - Pacino Best Editing Best adapted screenplay Best Music (Robertson/Morrison) Just my opinion. Will it sweep the Oscars? I doubt it. Will it win any of these awards? I hope it wins at least one. So far, the only real competition is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. In the end, it doesn't't really matter. Scorsese and Co. created a masterpiece.
Remember the oscars like to boycott streaming movies, this one had a theatrical release yes but it's still made by Netflix. Without netflix's budget, this movie was never gonna be picked up by anyone.
Imagine being a legendary director like Scorsese, but him working with legends like DeNiro and Pacino, and he doesn’t even have to work. He just works with them. Beautiful.
I don't know why, but the moment at 0:48 when Scorsese is moving his hand like a conductor as Pacino acts in mesmerizing

Exactly!!!! I had to mute the volume whenever there was dialogue! LOL! Can't wait for this!

@If you laugh you sub! now, what? Who? Please don't tell me De Nero is a creep. Aw fuck, no.
I just googled this and it seems like you are spreading damaging and vile gossip.
Al Pacino is amazing in this film. I love him sooo much!!! He deserves everything! Please Stay with us forever. Love from Korea:)
He was amazing in this, I agree!!! I'm currently watching Hunters so good!!!
I would happily watch a Behind the Scenes of this that was as long, or if not longer, than the actual film. This is gold to aspiring filmmakers.

Why not both?
I thoroughly enjoy Marvel but this is different.
Why does De Niro look younger in B-roll, without the moody de-aging?
Prophet Ascending because this video is much Lowe resolution than the film. The softness covers a lot of wrinkles.

The fact that Martin Scorsese can spontaneously kneel at his age like it's no big deal makes me optimistic about his longevity.
Not a single green screen. I'm impressed.
The ice cream place is in Mineola, has been featured on DDD food show.
Interesting. So was the latter half of the film (after the de-aging effects) shot on 35mm?
Yes it was. But it was really only the prison scenes and later since all of Pacino’s scenes were deaged (and thus shot digitally)

It's one thing to act. But, do it in front of all that technology & distraction...that's just another level.
It is really compelling to see them at work and there is an extra after the movie that speaks about that and the new technology.
In the 30's, they worked under lamps so big, bright, and hot, children were not allowed on set.
