No Ink required in this labeler.
This is an amazing tiny machine thats going to make my life as a mum much easier.

Good review Karen, I would add that you should remove the first 3 to 5 labels on a new roll before you actually print.
Sometimes there is a little glue at the beginning that can get your labels stuck. We use the 450 turbo at work and
print thousands but whenever we change rolls, it gets 'stuck' until we remove that beginning part of the new roll.
Now we can print smoothly all the time.

The software came on 5 1/4" floppies and I only have a 3.5", fortunately it was on compuserve and it downloaded in only a few hours (glad I upgraded to the 9600 baud modem).

I have had my Dymo 450 for some time and I love it , I must have done something wrong because the appearance on the screen before was larger and easier to view but now the label is smaller and harder to view when typing. What did I do wrong to make the label look smaller? Any Ideas?
Where do I go to download the program to make designs and create print jobs?
I went to their website and downloaded the latest software.

Hi. At the bottom where it says change label sizes it’s only given me 1 size. It won’t allow me to channel label size. Is it because I need to have the labels connected? I tried to use my 4x6 but it’s coming out small.
I am not sure. My labeler doesn’t print labels that size.
I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.
what size paper did you use?? because it is said 4x6 cannot?

They are dymo labels I bought from staples.

They are Dymo 30277 2-up file folder labels. 9/16” x 3-7/16” I got mine from staples but can also get them on Amazon. Hope this helps.

Looks good, but it needs an autocut I feel
It has a serrated edge so makes it super easy to cut and take label off the machine.

Took me over 3 hours. Very confusing and easy to put the paper in wrong over and over again. Didn’t get set up properly until a call to customer service. Didn’t work right on my MAC or Dell. Luckily, I purchased a Rollo for my home business and shipping label needs. Only purchased this on impulse because Staple had it on sale for $60. This Dymo feels cheap and the lid just heavily drops down when you try and close it. I do not recommend it.

I am not sure, I have never tried it but the one I have uses USB to connect to the computer.

so you can change the different size rolls
+matsprincess yes you can put different sizes in, then adjust on the program software so it prints perfectly.
+patricio zazzini design label in dymo program.. then at top (just above designed label) you can choose landscape or portrait setting click on desired then print.
+patricio zazzini open dymo program design your label then just above the label there is a setting for landscape or portrait, choose landscape then you can print... I had the same problem at first. Or you can go to the layout menu at the top, then label orientation and choose landscape.
+patricio zazzini maybe uninstall then reload. Hope you get sorted.
Can you print receipts using it? Not sticky ones but just normal thermal paper.
It’s not something I’ve thought of doing. So I am not sure. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
Simo Galile Dymo sells special thermal paper for these types of printers.
Can i use it tagging my laundry fabric?
I have used them for tagging all sorts of things, kids school supplies, office shelves... I would say it would work great, with it being thermal printing there is no ink to run. If the label gets wet then it will probably need replacing after time. Hope this helps.

Hi! Pardon my ignorance but can this machine be used for USPS shipping labels?
I don’t think so but to be honest I’ve never tried. It does shipping labels but all I do is make my own.
From what I understand you need a printer that does 4x6 labels. This thermal printer doesn’t do these larger labels. Hope this helps
Thanks for that, question is that weather proof? or water proof.
It’s thermal paper so if it gets wet the ink doesn’t run but not sure how labels stand up to lots of water

I do a label like (address, name, file etc…) I want then save it for future use. (Save as option.) hope this helps.

I don't think you can unless the label is a thermal one. You might be able to order special labels that will work but I have not looked in to it. The label machine doesn't use ink for printing.

I use 3rd party labels and as long as you got the size right they work fine.

As long as it fits in the machine it’s good. If you cannot find the template for that size on the software use the next template that’s slightly smaller than the label.

I buy Dymo labelwriter labels thermal paper. You can get a verity of different size labels.
Hi Good video. It might be a funny question but can these label be printed sideways? I need to produce some long thin labels about 4 inches tall and 1 inch wide. I don't mind cutting down a larger label. I need to stick a list of functions on the back of some smallish remote controls. Thanks
+Will Ford from what I have done so far, the labels always go in the correct way in the machine but when designing the label you can alter the orientation of the wording. (If that makes sense) so I am sure it will do as you want without any cutting.

+Will Ford I managed to print label like I think you require. Once label size is chosen then you choose landscape or portrait for the label. This allows to print like you want in a list format.
Can you print to this printer wireless?
No it’s not wireless.
I wanted to see you download the software. Mine did not come with a CD. I have tried to download from the internet but there are so many to choose from I always seem to get the wrong one to choose. Do you know of anyone who has downloaded the software from the internet?
Mine came with a disc I will look in to it and see if I can help.

I buy my shipping labels from them or Amazon, they are blank so I use the software to make the labels. Hope this helps. Their website has lots to choose from.

+OneCoin Mastermind I am not sure, I haven't used my label machine with bar code on labels, if you look on the computer software or disc it comes with, it might have a help section. Sorry I cannot help anymore. If I find out I will message you.

Royal Mail...
Once you purchase the postage, you are taken to the next screen where it says "Print postage label" and, once you press it, you are shown a .pdf file with the label. You have 2 choices here when it comes to DYMO labels:
- 59 x 102 mm (SKU S0947420, High Capacity Large Shipping Label): this one will work on any LabelWriter but the printed result is small;
- 104 x 159 mm (SKU S0904980, Extra Large Shipping Label): you will need a LabelWriter 4XL for that. The result is perfect.
To print, just go to Print and select the right label size. This is it

This label machine does not print labels that size. The largest it can print is 2 5/16 x 4 inch.
But it still helps out sending out packages thru eBay when u print labels?

From what I have read yes the 450 is equipped to print eBay labels. I googled it to be sure. Hope this helps

I am not sure, I only use what’s on the software that comes with it. I have never tried to design a motif.

I am not sure what’s the best size for an eBay label but the largest size this will print is a large shipping label 2 5/16” x 4”. Hope this helps.

It’s the disc that you install on your computer that has all the programs needed for making labels.

They are thermal so no ink to run but I would say if the labels get a lot of water they will start to peel/come off.

When I bought it there was a disc enclosed to download the program I needed to run it.

Can I use my own labels?
If they are thermal and fit in the machine I cannot see why not. But they have to be thermal to work in this machine.

Not as far as I know, unless you can get coloured thermal paper. Hope this helps.
Just been on google and yes you can get different colour thermal paper. I found red & green.

Very unclear instructions...“We feed, I think, uh oh that’s not good” not very useful at all for someone trying to learn how to load the labels.
