Melanie, I absolutely love this piece, the stenciling is beyond beautiful…. Thank you for all you do for us and teaching us your techniques…. 💜 Love You My Friend, Marley from Missouri
That is beautiful Mel! I inherited my father’s workshop. There was a huge can of that stuff. Durham? I have to go back and look at it. I decided to grab it instead of dumping it. So glad I did. Can’t wait to try it.
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie He was my inspiration! Had his own business. Repaired organs. It was a bad battle with my brothers. All those piano benches and awesome wood trashed! Anyway, my step mom passed and I got his shop at home full of everything you can imagine. After watching Jamie Ray and Zeb and all his cool spindles I inherited a lathe! And a storage unit of furniture! I better get busy!
You are awesome! Thank you for sharing, I love this I inherited my grandmother’s waterfall highboy chest and vanity! I been wanting to do a makeover on them. You gave me inspiration on how to redo them. I love this!
Love love love your work. You always manage to show us something that no other Furniture Flipping TH-camrs do ... LOVE it! Keep being you you gorgeous lady!! Maybe less pretty though next time ... and if you could just wear PJs or something like that, that would really help boost my self esteem hahahaha
This turned out so pretty! I have an antique vanity sitting in my studio this very moment, just awaiting an idea - and you’ve inspired me! I already had a color palette in mind, but I was debating stenciling, transfers, decoupage, or just paint. I’m now almost certain I’ll be doing raised stenciling. I love the water putty too. My ex-husband used it for all kinds of repairs and I rediscovered it a couple of years ago. The kitties were so cute! My five year old granddaughter watched with me and loved them, as well as how the vanity turned out. 😊
Another amazing piece! I love the way you mix mediums! I am kinda hooked on the raised stencils. I have made some with a recipe I found on Utube. But I bought the Durhams after you talked about it a long time ago. I will have to try it out the next time I do a raised stencil. Beautiful piece!
@@VintageMakeoverswithMelanie I almost missed it & I woulda been so mad! I was helping Michaellett our daughter shampoo a couch. And hubby & I are remodeling a mobile home & 1/2 of a double wide we attached togather. It's quite a reclaim project! Lol
One more question. I have seen your macrame. Did you make the swinging “cat table”? I don’t exactly know what your intent for it is but would work perfectly for my daughters to cats! Thanks!
Simply gorgeous!!!

You are a wild child rock star you're fearless!!! Omg so cool!
Is it hard to wash the durams off the stencil?
Not hard. Just soak it
Wow, love that raised stencil Melanie! Came out super awesome. Where did you get the palm brush?
Oh ! I sell them. www.windmillvintagedesigns.com/product/2-inch-palm-wax-salve-brush/. Good brushes for sure
My grandma had one just like this. Hers was in a blond wood. I spent many hours sitting in front of a mirror like that pretending to put on makeup.
Awe. Love that memory ❤️❤️
