I’m with you with the hobby lobby madness. I have been to mine twice. I’ll go one more time, if I miss it then it wasn’t meant to be !!! I have enough yarn in my stash 😂😂
Since I learned how to do the foundation/foundationless HDC and DC, I don't ever start with a chain if I can help it. But this stitch you're using, is a much denser stitch, so if you want it to feel drapey you might go up a hook size from what you normally like to use.
Sometimes it's the nature of the stitch. Tunisian stitches are notorious for curling. Even though your square isn't Tunisian it still may need a little blocking. And a larger hook would work also 😊
Take it from me, the grid stitch piece will not work its way out. You have to start over with a looser foundation. Lol, it does not get better once you see the bend or rippling. I have done it before. It is a very dense stitch. Use a larger hook and see what happens.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful project. 🙏🏽🕊💚✨☀️

i LOVE your shawl! try going up a hook size for the grit stitch but hang on to the work you’ve done with the grey so you can compare them! 😊
