Haha stuff us Mikes do. The Mike's are a perfect duo Just ate a steak, sat down to watch some OG, and I just got an email saying my stubby nozzle has shipped! Its a good day The gnome should make an appearance in all future videos
You literally can get hoses with 120v integrated on the hose so the switch is on the end of nozzle. cleans up the install and makes it a lot more user friendly being able to shut it on and off without walking 30ft . Cheers!
That does look good. I appreciate the noise level being low. The whole system has good anesthetics, and very clean lines. One of the better projects assembled OG.
Another great install Mike. You really lucked out not hitting the channel strut outside though!! Couldn't have been any closer. Matt's going full Canadian with the hat.
Love it, I think I’d go for the reel inlet at the same height as the vacuum outlet so that pipe wouldn’t be there. Half the fun of stuff like this is being able to tweak everything to your own liking. Hope to be able to grab one one of these days.
Takes a lot of courage to cut the hose reel outlet to fit the pvc 90. Since I lack that kind of courage, I would have used a fernco to adapt the outlet to the pvc.
No doubt a Rigid vac will get the job done at a fraction of the price. IMO, the biggest value-add with this type of setup, especially the Hide-a-Hose configuration, is the convenience. For some of us, the time & hassle saved of simply being able to grab a hose and go to work is worth it. That said, I’d love to see some objective reasoning as to how this vac is different from all the others (ie. VacuMaid) because on paper, they look identical. What am I getting for ~$600 more?
Nice work! I hope you de-burred those cuts on the pvc. I had a professional installer (and I use that term lightly) install a central vac in a house and he skipped that step. Those things catch a lot of dirt. Of course he also plumed the intake and exhaust pipes backwards, so.............................. Also, a thermal imaging camera should help you see into the wall.
Getting ready to install my system with the black Cox reel. What is the height of your setup from the ground to the top of the reel and bottom of the Vacuum. I can get close if that outlet is at 4’. I like how that is setup on the wall.
it sounds loud on camera, but then when uncle matty started talking you could tell how quiet it really is. He was standing next to it and not yelling and you could hear him clearly.
Looks great! Can’t wait til you get someone to create better end attachments, hopefully some that lock on in a sense so they stop falling off during use…😅
It is likely due to the hose being on the reel still. If you have the hose wound around the reel, the air "turning" in the hose can make a whistling noise. Try pulling more of the hose out and see if that helps any.
@@ObsessedGarage not sure about that, and not sure about needing a huge a amount of suction. But appreciate the explanation and the fact that you feature good quality products on this channel.
It is a good time when Mike and Mike get together, some of my favorite videos.
Everybody needs a Mike. Always impressed on the fit, finish and attention to details.
Two Mikes. One to fix things and one to record it.
A black kranzle would be INSANE I’d buy another one in a heart beat
A remote On/Off switch on the hose would be awesome.
Awesome 4R Mike! Would love to see a bunch of detailing videos on that.
Bestest Mike's in town. .
OMG a blacked out Kranzle with blk hose!!! lets make it happen!
kranzle blackout, black and grey mosmatic, black 1/4" hose.. perfection
Yes. This.
looks good Mike F. Another 100/100 quality install.
Mike is the freaking man.
WOW the blk and white is the way to go!!! amazing job Mike!
Always enjoying your work. And you are real nice to the cameraman.
"I coated it with CSL" that was way too funny lmao 😂

It’s basic central vac outlets . With power leads built in.
And....Chris made the cut. SWEET!!!
felt like dad taking me to work for the day, fun video!

It’s a vacuum cleaner lol
Another great install Mike. You really lucked out not hitting the channel strut outside though!! Couldn't have been any closer. Matt's going full Canadian with the hat.
Nice job Mike!
Thanks!
Really nice amazingly clean setup, I'll be adding to my bucket list Matt, lol

Love the work Mike! Love the video Mike!
Can you guys crate a "how to" for the hidden reel/in-wall solution like in Matts home? TY!
Need a wall organizer for the accessories
Great install. Just one question... how do you plan to change the filter on the vacuum when it's on the bottom of the unit?
Looks really nice! I would love to have it under the reel which would make conduits shorter and exhaust straight out without 90s. Great setup!
It was nice like that. You just have to clean the top of the canister all the time.
Mike! Spray paint beside the Porsche 😮
Looks great. I would of also painted the cap that blocks off the second intake.

Looks nice good job but 1300 bucks is steep , I will stick to my 99$ Ridgid with the 56$ car accessory hose kit and it sucks water up too 😂
I get that. I just want something better for my garage. The thesis is that if I want it, other will too.

Well now I’m blacking out my piping!
Why
I would pay money to see Mike sit inside that cart and be a human gimbal while Mike F pushes him around 😂

22:09 - Tell Matt to buy you a Milwuakee M12 PVC shear.
Your cut would of been squared.
Best og video to date
so being plumbed to the outside, do you even need the muffler or could you gain more performance from the vacuum by removing it?

I don't have a garage, yet I watch all these videos. 🤷♂️
Who makes the central vac unit for you guys?
It's a custom built unit from Modern Day.

Yes. These are Modern Day systems.

Nice 🇨🇦 hat Matt!
I have the Cox hose and it makes a horrible whistling noise. Is there a fix for that? It’s a bit better with attachments.
Make sure your hose end fitting are tight. Remember they are threaded to the ribs of the hose, so counter clockwise.
It is likely due to the hose being on the reel still. If you have the hose wound around the reel, the air "turning" in the hose can make a whistling noise. Try pulling more of the hose out and see if that helps any.
Mike needs a Wallbot
Hilarious..the subtle dugs are classics...
"I see a white pipe, but Matt wants it painted blaaaack"
Nice work but using a interior trim plate on a 4s metal box looks jankey.. Use an industrial raised cover instead
Why not just use a flex tube ?
You certainly can. It just doesn't look as good.
That thing sucks! 🤣 Great job guys! 💪🏼 #dadjoke
That’s a nice muffler Mike
YAWN
May have been easier to paint the reel
The music is pretty cool. Please don't over use it.
MURAD form Toronto 🇨🇦👋👌🤘🏻
Why wouldn’t you just hardwire the vacuum at that point?
You could.
*FIRST*
LET'S DO THISSSS...
🌞🌞🌞
You blocked your powerswitch
The switch isn’t blocked by the pipe, just the outlet (which doesn’t matter cause you’re never unplugging it).
A cordless vacuum is a more practical solution.
Yeah, but this is better and easier to work with.

That is a beautiful set up. I don’t need one but now I want one 😂😂🫡
Wow this looks awesome.
