Almost watched this on my lunch break at the bike shop. Even better, I watched it on the couch when I got home. What a way to decompress after a long day assembling boring bikes.
@@j.bridges2921 I prefer the old school look of a steel frame like in this video. Most bikes nowadays are aluminum or carbon fiber. Also, I work at a bike shop where 90% of people buy the cheapest bike we sell or kids bikes. All aluminum with bottom tier parts. It's very repetitive building the same 2 or 3 bikes all the time too.
the final segment with the magical closeups, the soothing commentary, majestic asmr snow sounds, the distinct smell of the compound paired with this peaceful yet moving music..!!! truly transcendental qualities! you made my day.. and it is valentines AND my birthday out of all days take care people ;) remember to luv your bike today
Hey Ron Rico, props for putting those tektros on this gucci build. With salmon pads and compressionless housing they work every bit as good as my v-brakes. I was amazed at how much tire they can clear.
This is art in every sense of the word. Just beautiful Mr. Ronald Dali, your cinematic and voice over abilities are quickly catching up to your otherwise exceptional talents for aesthetic.
Beauty build. I love those Tektro R599s. I used them on an '82 Trek 720 I converted to 650b and they're perfect. Better than dealing with centerpull Dia-Compes!
Ron my man you seriously are one of the most creative and unique people ive ever encountered in the bike community, or even on youtube in general. Absolutely love how much you do you, and do it so well. Last few minutes of this video were bliss.
Wow! I was just admiring this new Deeter build on Strava. And now here you are with a full build report. I have the same Roadini albeit a smaller 57cm. I also had one of the earlier ones with less clearance maxed out to 38mm’s with Paul Racer Mediums. Grew tired of that limitation and did not have the forethought to braze on some canti bosses like you did. Passed it on. Moved on. Then they came out with this new version. Love it. It’s as close to perfect as I can imagine. Another great, snowy post. This winter will end one day. 👍
Beautiful bike Ron! He’s going to dig it out here in AZ (sunny and 70 degrees this week). I’m sure he has trails/rides planned, but Brown’s Ranch is primo gravel territory. “New outfit, who dis?” Ha ha
Nice videyah Ronnie! Your videyahs have taken a massive leap up in quality lately. Beautiful cinematography and audiyah! At this rate, you'll be producing hollywood blockbusters in no time! Those shots in the falling snow were so sweet. Not to mention the stellar build 💛⭐👑🌟🏆⚜🔑
I like the bars like shifted to the right (left-side inwards, right-side outwards) for sunday rides. And downframe mounted non-index shifters, pls, with 3x7 and a Tabor touring EP saddle and SON-hub‘d wheels.
@@CareFreeCommuting Shoulders? Not sure, can barely see them. But looking at my arms reach sometimes they differ a lot. Some days the left side is longer, some days the right side. But maybe, as a right hander ;-) when doing things the reach shortens and before doing things the reach is longer. Need to monitor that. ;-)
If Stephen King wrote a mystery / horror short story about a bike, and added some cool music to it, it would sound like this great video. Great job and fun content as always.
Fantastic build! Truly amazing work! Although I couldn’t help but laugh my butt off when I heard you say Brooks “organic” saddle. I mean I didn’t think you could get more organic than regular Brooks leather saddles…?
This doesn't seem like just watching a video; it's more like stepping into a surreal realm. I was soaring so high that I almost caught sight of SRAMS' helicopter keeping watch from the heavens above you. Another day another slay, Benedikt from switzerland
Damn that’s a fine bike- I’d be lying to myself if I said I don’t want a Rivendell bike someday…. Great build man. P.S. you forgot to put on the valve stem caps….lol
tidings! these are aluminum bars. you generally get a few bend cycles out of aluminum before it becomes a danger zone in my experience. bars made by nitto, even the heat treated ones bend great (they needed to be bent to get to their stock shape after all)
I wish I could use cloth tape, but, my hands are my weak point, so, not for me. I wonder if that method would work with foam tape? Perhaps. I also change handle bars alot, and foam tape just doesn't last (while also doubtless being worse for the environment than cloth) so yeah, I wrap a lot of bars too. Will have to try it
I like cloth bar tape but you need gloves for it imo and I don't really want to use gloves in the summer. EDIT 7 months later: This is also one of the best looking bikes I've seen.
In the first seconds I felt something like a "Bidenmoment", a man trying to find his place on the stage, finding it after some moments, realizing he is in front of a camera and not going into the living room or restroom. I am not sure if your president is wearing underwear or if he forgot it, too. A beautyful and relaxing video and the bike is just awesome. I personally like only foam tape, on long distances the tape without comfort is just hurting especially if there are 100kilimeters of bumpy surface, mild tires do not mitigate everything and besides it feels warm and comfy. And no flare, handlebars can be vertical and its nice.

😂 same here !
we watched this on our lunch break at the bike shop
Funny Was about to do that too, But Waited till I got home. Worth It!
Hello, new to cycling here. What makes a bike boring as opposed to not boring?

Your lack of fear bending those bars is an inspiration to us all.
I’m even more impressed in how confidently he tightens that vice without fear of crushing
The Bob Ross of bike building.
❤ it!
Painterly biking

enjoy this gift of electronic rubber aromas --- happy b & v day!!!
The building of the bike with that background makes the video more special
Love all the arcane knowledge that went into this build, and the final result🤌
6:28 that shot has great composition and lighting. And the sound was unusually great too.

Loved that, especially the custom handlebar bending 👍
🥴
Awesome classic build! I appreciate the classic look at 55 years old.
I gotta say the yellow palette and silver/grey tones against the falling snow with the music track was mighty fine 👍
One of the best Joshes in the Josh bike community. Glad he's got a sweet new ride.
One heck of a build , also love the fact you show Durango Love , Southwest youth corps 2000
What a frame!!! What a build!!! And what a MASTER behind all this!!! Greetings from other side of the Atlantic pond ☺️
Beautiful build. I’m going to use your patented bar tape technique going forward. You next- leveled the sound track!
Singer Style! velo-orange.blogspot.com/2006/03/wrapping-handlebars-alex-singer-style.html Think I'm going to try it with some Fizik on my next build.
Beauty build. I love those Tektro R599s. I used them on an '82 Trek 720 I converted to 650b and they're perfect. Better than dealing with centerpull Dia-Compes!
they have a surprisingly nice lever feel for such long arms ... love the simplicity of the caliper brake ---

Now that's an ASMR video. Gorgeous bike.
This video is pure art form it has a dream like rithm to it that i can find only on this channel

Authenticity my friend. That's what it's all about. Enjoyed watching the build. Very soothing.
Whoa, Amber is the color of your energy🎶
Beautiful build Ronnie!
Happy to hear Ronnie listening to “60 Songs that Explain the 90s” podcast during this build.
likely my favorite podcast
Great podcast.
Super distinct sounding voice and cadence. Glad I wasnt the only one who caught that.

I never thought I wanted a Riv until now👍
Thanks for sharing Uncle Ron!

Creepy Zen vibes, beautiful build, awesomeness 😮
Nice day for a vidya here in snowy Southern CT

That build is obscenely mint. I'm on the goddamn floor over here.
Nice bike,cool voice over!!
lovely build well done
and corduroy remains a durable yet buttery - soft cotton fabric. Sweet !!!
Great video....relaxing and educational lol....thanks biker brother.

What a lovely video
That came out beautiful!
I would love a bar wrapping tutorial video if you found the time. Many thanks.
Another work of art brother❤
Dark gold colour looks nice!
Beautiful bike 🚲
Clean and beautiful 🙌
Damn that’s a fine bike- I’d be lying to myself if I said I don’t want a Rivendell bike someday…. Great build man. P.S. you forgot to put on the valve stem caps….lol
the wub wub wub really rounded out the asmr
Beautiful background audio. Beautiful build. Love your weird ass, uncle Ron
This video is art.
I have a particular hankering for the old "in out" combo with bars & other things as well.
Nice work Ron. Your bench is almost as messy as mine!
I use cotton electrical tape under the velo cotton tape to thicken it up
Bitch’n build Ronaldo , what a great look! Thanks for sharing.
Love my tectonics pedals and grepp cloth tape!
Nice nice nice! Daft question: Those bars are steel, right? Alumin(i)um bars aren't bending nicely like that I assume (hopefully incorrectly).
tidings! these are aluminum bars. you generally get a few bend cycles out of aluminum before it becomes a danger zone in my experience. bars made by nitto, even the heat treated ones bend great (they needed to be bent to get to their stock shape after all)
thanks for the info!
So calming. I feel all nappy. But i also wanna ride dat bike.
Definitely agree. Keep it up
60 songs that explain the 90's. Nice. Id recognize rob harvelas voice anywhere
haha, certainly one of my fav podcasts
Smashed the like button, broke my screen.
Cloth tape is great, I use hockey stick tape....big rolls pretty affordable....
mmm, nice tip! a uniquely Canadian approach! 🏒
Chills….literal chills
oui oui! Thanks again Ronnie! Josh is one lucky fella
Pookie we miss you, you’ve been missing for a while now, please come back home
I shift my drops upward, but only for riding in the southern hemisphere.
Hi Ronnie, I love your signature and world ! Would you care sharing the soundtracks ? 🌱
Now you have to make the bartape tutorial Ron, please!
Watch his road bike check. You can see it there!
Howdy R, enjoy watching your vids! One day I will get the nerve to inquire about a build:) what part of Vt, if you don’t mind?
I like fake leather fizik bar tape. Very dura and feels great. Looks kino
Man doesn't get much more class.
ill be in Arizona in 2 weeks ! cya josh !

Tektros 559s work great but they perform even better if you scrub the logos off them with a little fine steel wool and toothpaste. 😂
I didnt tie up the front wheel one time, and was given a nice shiner from a swinging handlebar.
Smells like it will age nice. 180cranks on a 107bb: Bold and beautiful Q… skinny funk like an old episode of Vegetable Soup. So tasty.
I like cloth bar tape but you need gloves for it imo and I don't really want to use gloves in the summer.

What cable guide did you use under the bottom bracket? Can only find tacky plastic ones on the market wish there was something nicer to use
I prefer thin bar tape for sure. Benotto Cellotape is pretty awesome
bellissimo gravel
🍀❤
ron, what is the soundtrack behind this?
Oho, there's a Sklar frame waiting in the shed...
