Thank you for your helpful video to plan my trip for Nice. Will take the tram to stay a night or two in Nice and head back to the airport via tram for a rental car to continue my journey to other places. (I felt stressed about picking up the car day 1 and worrying about parking).
Thank you very much! 😄 We also went to the carnival last year (and are planning to bring out the video this year). It’s really impressive! Have a great time in Nice!
Hi, Thank you so much! 🙏🏼 the hotel where we will stay is close to the Meridia tram stop. That's why we first need to go to the Grand Arena (free of charge), buy the tickets there and get on Tram-3, right?
I got on that tram trying to head to the airport, but accidentally got on the tram going in the opposite direction, which took me even further away from the airport. It said Nice airport on the front so I assumed it was the right one. I got off at the next stop and then got on the tram heading in the correct direction. haha - I imaginge if I had just stayed on the first tram, it would have just done a big loop and ended at the airport anyway.
How sad how the Tram tickt so expensive is.. I got shocked 😮. Very nice video. I’ll be traveling to nice soon and I’ll use the BOLT app or Uber. Je ne suis pas fous 🤣🤣🤣 very good one
that was an incredibly informative video for me as i am so stressed when i am arriving in Nice to when i pick up a key for apartment....its at night so we have limited time to meet up for the key and will rely on taxi for sure. does the taffiff of 32 plus 4 euros apply to going into the old town....and does uber arrive promptly or is it a bit of a wait....i know you have to meet them somewhere else ...i have heard the taxis rip you off, but if the tarriff is fixed we would be greatful of that...
Don’t stress! Nice is small for a big city, not as hectic as big capitals. People are laid back in general. We‘ve never taken a taxi ourselves, but we hear the drivers don’t always stick to the indicated fares… (please tell us if we’re doing you wrong, taxi drivers!). As for Uber or Bolt, that’s a smooth affair normally. But again, truthfully, we’re usually taking the car.
Thanks a lot for the informative video! Really appreciate that! Just one question regarding the app. Since my partner and I will take the return flight from another city than Nice, we prefer to use the app instead of the pink card to skip the reimbursement. Do you btw know if I can purchase tickets for both of us via the app? I could only choose single or return ticket in the app but couldn’t find the option to add more passenagers as you could for the pink card. Just want to double check with you in case I missed it 😊 And if it’s not possible to buy tickets for others in the app, do you have any tips on where we can reimburse the pink card in the city center? Thanks in advance!
Hey, not a 100% sure to be honest since we use the card not the app. I should think you could just load as many tickets as you need on your app and then swipe it 2 times if there’s 2 people travelling. On our phones, the app only shows in French, that’s why we didn’t bother exploring and explaining it since we thought most of you guys wouldn’t speak French… our bad… 🫣 (calls for a remake of the video, noted!)
Hey Ladies, thankyou for all the wonderful videos and information! I was wondering if you have any experience with Beausoleil? And if it is worth visiting? Thankyou x
Hi! We don‘t know Beausoleil very well to be honest, but we do know that it’s attached to Monaco and you can walk to the principality - while there isn’t much going on in Beausoleil, we think. Nice small place, and convenient to get to Monaco…
Thank you for the vlog, Quick question, are there any baggage lock-ups in T1 or T2 and cost if any so we can keep out suitcases secure while we explore Nice. Also if I use the app on my android, do I still need the rechargable ticket and can I add my wife and kids on the e-ticket on my phone. Thanks again.
Hi! Sorry, it took us a moment… so there is a luggage storage possibility at T2 at Nice Airport (www.nice.aeroport.fr/en/services/pratical-services/service-centre#:~:text=At%20the%20Nice%20Airport%20Service,%2C%20rent%20childcare%20items%2C%20etc.), not sure about the cost; but there are other places within Nice that offer luggage storage, too (please google, sites are also available in English) And as for the ticket via android app: if the app works for you, you don’t need a rechargeable ticket! Android seems to work better than iPhone, but since we use the latter we weren’t able to check for ourselves. And it’s perfectly ok to buy/charge several tickets on your app and then use it for the entire family. Just make sure to „swipe“ (validate) it for each passenger
Thank you so much for your video tips, so helpful which prompts me to subscribe to your channel. May I ask part of Nice should I go to that I can ride bus number 607?
Great, thanks! 🙏😄 the bus no 607 passes by the port of Nice, check out the map/itinerary on this site: transitapp.com/fr/region/nice/lignes-d-azur/bus-607
Its not 85 euros to Cannes - when I want last week it cost me 130 Euros (118 plus tax). The train is much better, via a free tram. Total cost 7.50 Euros
thank you for all your informative videos. You mention credit card only for purchase of ticket for express bus 82 at the service desk. Do they take debit card?
Right! 👍 1 stop by tram to Nice St. Augustin train station, change to train that goes to Nice ville. Depends on where you’re staying in Nice whether tram or train are the easier option
Heyy Rivera, really nice video, I was wondering if I can help you by better video editing and also make highly engaging short. Let me know to have my portfolio or your edited sample video. Cheers, Rajvir Singh
Thank you for your video. It’s really helpful and informative. 😊 But I have a question, if I buy 1-day pass costs 7 euros, is it possible that I only need buy 1 card for me and my wife? So I only need tap it twice every time we get on the tram/bus?
Oh, for day tickets I‘m not sure how it works to be honest… you‘d have to buy 2 day tickets. If you buy single trips for tram/bus in Nice (Lignes d‘Azur) you can validate one ticket twice to pay for 2 people.
Hi, are you talking about La carte Azur, a rechargeable ticket for the different bus companies (+ tram) on the Côte d’Azur? If so: we don’t know for sure (sorry), but we highly assume it should still work
Would’ve been helpful to mention age requirements for smaller travellers. E.g. does a 6y.o. require a travel card etc. also curious why trams don’t introduce nfc so that you don’t have to travel a station from the airport just to buy a regular ticket… rip off at the airport for a family of 5. The video was helpful indeed, thank you!
Thanks for great vlog. Just wonder how many days the return tramticket to Nice is valid? I hope it is not just valid for the same day? And does it also accept Vpay cards?
Hi, very valid questions! The ticket has no end date, so no worries, whenever you travel back it’s still valid. About Vpay: I didn’t know this particular card and couldn’t find out online whether the tram ticket machines accept them - but I should think so! (Sorry, bit vague)
@@rivierago Thanks for very quick answer. Many bankcards in the Netherlands have Vpay. V Pay is a Single Euro Payments Area debit card for use in Europe, issued by Visa Europe. We will have cash (paper or coins, both?) on hand, just to be sure.
Thank you for the valuable information. Unfortunately, the subject of railways is only mentioned briefly. I don't really know how to get to Nice central station by train.
From the airport, you can take the train (TER, regional train) from Nice Saint-Augustin train station (that’s 1 or 2 stops by tram from T1/T2, tram stop “grand arenas”), and from there it’s one stop (or 4 min) to the main train station in Nice, Gare Thiers.
Hi there! I'm planning a trip to Nice in two days and arrive in the evening. Wanted to ask if this 10 Euro Return Ticket does also include the way back to the airport since we need to go back in 4 days and if this one also includes the pink card or is just a paper ticket? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for asking! Yes, the 10€ ticket does include the trip back to the airport! (No max. number of days specified between the 2 trips, so presumably it’s valid at least a year - good point though, we didn’t think of checking that). And whether you get the pink card or a paper ticket we don’t know either 🫣, we’ll try to find that out and add it to the description below the film!
Hi, should I buy the Lignes d'Azur card or the SudAzur card for getting around the French Riviera? I'm staying for 4 days here. Would really appreciate your suggestion on this.
Hi! If you stay in Nice, the Lignes d‘Azur card is fine, if you want to travel to Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Menton… consider the Pass Sud Azur Explore, because it allows you to take (regional! TER) trains (on top of the bus and tram lines that are covered with Lignes d‘Azur tickets, plus buses that run between cities)
@ Riviera Go. What are the best places to visit or to see in Nice on oldyears eve 31th of december? Dinnershows for example. Thank you merci beaucoup.☺️🙏
Hi, that’s a tough one since we always leave to see our families back home in Germany that time of year. But there are definite special meals and events with music, try to check in the big hotels: Negresco, Meridien, Marriott, Amour, Westminster, Radisson Blu, Palais de la Méditerranée…
I have a red La Carte card and there is 40 euro's on it, can I use this for 2 persons? I had a lot of problems at the tramstation in Nice last time so I want no trouble this time. Do I need to buy another red card for the second person? People told me I can use the card for several people? Your video is very helpful! Thanks! Sandra.
I like to ask from Nice Airport Terminal 2, if I need to take the tram to the Parc Phoenix station , which pass the Grand Arenas, how should I pay with the LaCarte? Many thanks.
Hi, well you take the tram for free to Grand Arenas, get off and buy a (return) ticket (it’s 1,70 one way, no matter how far you go) and swipe „La Carte“ when you get back on the tram for your second part of the journey. You can also get a ticket directly at the airport - but they charge you €10 for a return ticket (instead of 2x1,70 + €2 for La Carte), up to you : go for convenience or cheapest way possible
Hi from indonesia…thank you for your explanation in this beautiful video..may i know if i use uber to travel from airport to nice center , where i must wait for the uber car driver? Is it same line with taxis queing? Many thanks for your feedback
Thank you! To be honest: we‘re not sure. But in the Uber app you can even type in your flight number, and the driver will be waiting for you - no matter whether you arrive at terminal 1 or 2. When you go through with your booking (which we didn’t), they‘ll tell you where exactly to find your driver. Close by, we‘re sure 😅. Safe travels!
How can you tell if it's a legitimate taxi as opposed to someone posing as a taxi..are there symbols for taxi like here in NY it say tl& c..just want to be safe as I will be taking a taxi at the airport and want to make sure it's legitimate.
Hey, yes, apparently there is: www.lignesdazur.com/pass-7-jours The website says there’s a 7 day pass for Lignes d‘Azur (buses & tram in Nice and Metropolitan area) for €20, available at ticket machines at tram stops (among other places). If you would like the trains TER included, there is Pass Sud Azur Explore (€50 for 7 days).
Thank you for the informative video. I heard that Pass Sud Azure Explore for 50€ (7 day) covers all buses, trams and trains. Is it true that I can use this pass to go to Cannes (8.40 euros each way) and to Monaco by train? Also, does it cover trip to Rothchild museum?
Hi, yes that’s true! It covers all cities in the department Alpes-Maritimes (Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, Menton, and the smaller places like Eze, Cap Ferrat, Saint-Paul-de Vence…) plus Monaco. Just be careful with trains: it only covers regional trains (TER), not high speed ones (TGV, going to or coming from Paris etc). And yes, there’s a bus from Nice to Cap Ferrat (to see Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild)
@@EfficientMeditation-ld1yw sorry, not sure we understand your question correctly: validate in order to know if it’s a TER or not, or validate when you use a train?
@@rivierago I believe all tickets/passes need to be scanned in public transport. I think on tram and bus it’s simple, the machine is located inside. But trains dont have the scanner, as far as I can tell.
Ah, got you! You’re right, within the TER trains there’s no machine to validate a ticket. You just need to be able to present the ticket when a person comes up to check tickets. Sometimes there used to be machines for validation before getting to your platform at the train station, but I haven’t seen them in use lately. And yes, that’s different for trams and buses where you actively need to swipe or show your ticket to the driver (bus). Well, that’s for regular tickets at least (not sure if the Pass Sud Azur Explore requires validation or whether it’s enough to have it on you 😳, need to check back with the company - but definitely try to swipe in tram, better safe than sorry 😉)
can I buy ticket in advance for when I go back to the airport after 5 days? also what time is the earliest I can catch the tram from the city center since I need to be in the airport at 8 for an 11 am flight?
Yes, you can buy a return ticket right away, or 2 trips - same thing. The tram starts pretty early each day, between 4 and 5 in the morning, depending on the tram line you’re taking - so no worries for an 11 am flight!
@@rivierago thanks for the reply. can I still go to grand arenas first when I arrive at terminal 2 to get the 1.50 euro ticket instead of getting the 5.00euro plus the 1.50 euro? I mean it's still available right?
Hii, can you tell is it free(no need to pay for it) to use tram from airport station terminal 1 or terminal 2 to the station Grand Arenas where I can buy cheaper ticket? Thank you!!! 🎉
if I buy a train ticket from SNCF from Nice to Cannes on 8am and then back from Cannes to Nice on 6pm . Do I have to travel at that time only or I can travel at any time in a day and break journey in between at a stop between those two destination and then at later time continue journey. as well
Hi, so we called a TER service number and we were told: a TER ticket that you buy in the Sud region (our region) is valid a full day (the date that you choose) - and you can use which ever TER train you want (in the correct direction), earlier or later than the time indicated on your ticket. And YES, you can also get off at another station on that route and board again later with the same ticket. Sounds good!👌
is there any contactless payment option using debit or credit cards within the public transportation to avoid the hassels of buying a useless pink card and returning it before flying home?
Very good question, we forgot to mention that: you can share the card! Just buy the number of trips you need and swipe it twice if it’s for 2! Have a great trip! 😄
Just one other question...(about red La Carte card) Can I go true security in the tram station with 1 card because last year we had some trouble...you need to pass those iron bars...what's the name for it? They close when you pass them...and I have only 1 card...?
Oh right, there are some (only a few) underground tram stations - that’s where these iron bars are. Honestly, not sure! Maybe just hand the ticket back over the bars to the other persons (because it is totally legal to share a card)? Let me call tomorrow, that’s a valid question!
@@19711000sandra Hi again, so I just had someone from Lignes d'Azur on the phone and she confirmed what we suggested: If there's more than one of you, the first person uses the ticket (La carte) to enter, hands it back to the second who uses it, and so forth (same for leaving the station, if required/at underground stations only). Perfectly legal! 😄
If we are taking the tram from Nice to airport, would you suggest the same tip and to go to Grand Arena stop and then transfer to the airport tram for 1.70 euro? Also is it my understanding that a family can share 1 card and just tap it however many times as family members or do we each need our own card? Merci!
Hey, no when going TO the airport from downtown Nice, it‘s € 1.70 to go all the way to the airport, no need to stop again at Grand Arenas - that’s only when you need a ticket coming FROM the airport. And yes: you can load a card with several trips and then use the same card for several people!
Thanks for the reply! And is there a ticket machine by every stop? We will be arriving to Nice on the train from Paris so will only need a one way going to airport when we leave Nice.
@@avatseng8870 the easiest way is to take the tram (it‘s not very far, depending on your luggage, you could even walk). By tram, it‘s line 1, three or four stops depending on where in the old town you’re going (stop Opéra or Cathedral or even Garibaldi)
Hello 🙂. I'm staying in Nice for the next 3 nights. I bought the 10 Euros airport return ticket. Will this be valid on the day I have to leave, or do I need to buy another one?. I'm a little confused by it all 😕.
@@rivierago I know 😆. I just get some anxiety, and am travelling solo. Obviously, I don't want to spend lots extra etc, but I felt more assured with the 10 Euros return 😆. I've still got my ticket, and will try to relax more about getting back to the airport on Monday morning. Thanks! 🙂.
@@rivierago yes, I'm back in the UK now, safe and sound 😆. Just found the trams a little more confusing than expected. Had to ask for help from some of the locals, and yeah...all was well 🙂. I would go to Nice again, but I'd go with someone else second time around 😆👍.
I got confused at one point. So if you take the train, I don't need to pay until I get to the Grande Arena. I have to get off at the Grande Arena, buy a ticket for 3.70 and get on the second line again. In such a case, they won't be angry because I got on the train without a ticket in the first place, right.
And ı have another question, can we(me and my friends) use one pink card at the same time. I would be very happy if you answer btw the video is awsome.
Are there any good clean modern hotels in Nice? I am almost giving up hope of finding something on the usual travel sights. It appears most hotels are old , at best refurbished. There are many very expensive ones but even those look poor value. Are there no completely new hotels in Nice, sea view isn't important just a quality modern hotel in a safe quiet area.
It’s funny you’re asking that, we’re currently working on a video about the new hotels that opened in Nice this year. Can you give us 10 more days to finish? 😅
@@ourtvchannel Sorry, we missed your question earlier! Helsinki is fun too (opposite direction 😉) - and Nice isn't running away... We don't know your budget, but here are some names for next time (new 4 star hotels): Palais Ségurane, Mama Shelter, Pam Hotel, Yelo Mozart, they all opened in Nice in 2024
Hi, it’s the TRAM that’s free from the airport to Grand Arenas, yes (1-2 stops, depending on your terminal). From there you can take the TRAM (again) to Nice downtown (ticket for 1,70€ at vending machine at every tram stop except airport stops) or the train (train station Saint Augustin which is right next to Grand Arenas to Nice Ville), train fare is 2,50€ apparently, but the tram is more convenient as it runs every 5 minutes or so and the train more like every 30 min.
@@evertonrocha8387 yes, you get the pink card at the vending machine (2€ extra). Common credit (and debit, I suppose) cards are accepted (Visa and Mastercard).
If you have an android phone it should work via app (not with an iPhone, the iPhone only allows to recharge a physical card that you already acquired, and the app for both android and iPhone is only in French if we remember correctly)
They might not advertise it at the airport, but they do on their website: www.nice.aeroport.fr/en/directions/public-transport (And that’s why we point stuff like that out 😅)
I took it to Grand Arénas once last year and some black guy then showed me how to buy my train ticket to Monaco. I'll probably do it again in a couple of weeks, this time to Cannes
Do! Great idea, the train is really convenient to get from city to city along the coast. PS: did you see our vid with some cool restaurant tips in Cannes? 😉
@@rivierago I am confused, I came to Nice made top up by phone, but my card was not valid from airport line 2, and when I check I see 1 trip left, but it worked only when I made top up by ticket machine and this 1 trip for 1,70 is still not used.
@@TrulyMademoizelle the tram ticket? When you enter a tram, you have to swipe it in front of that specific „box“. (Not necessarily if you only travel between the 2 terminals and Grand Arénas stop)

Thankyou!
Hi! Sorry, it took us a moment… so there is a luggage storage possibility at T2 at Nice Airport (www.nice.aeroport.fr/en/services/pratical-services/service-centre#:~:text=At%20the%20Nice%20Airport%20Service,%2C%20rent%20childcare%20items%2C%20etc.), not sure about the cost; but there are other places within Nice that offer luggage storage, too (please google, sites are also available in English)
And as for the ticket via android app: if the app works for you, you don’t need a rechargeable ticket! Android seems to work better than iPhone, but since we use the latter we weren’t able to check for ourselves. And it’s perfectly ok to buy/charge several tickets on your app and then use it for the entire family. Just make sure to „swipe“ (validate) it for each passenger
Great 🎉

I didn’t get it about “ via free tram” . You mean you took the train from nice to Cannes for which price ? 7.50€ only?
thank you for all your informative videos. You mention credit card only for purchase of ticket for express bus 82 at the service desk. Do they take debit card?
Couldn‘t find the answer to your question online, but we‘re pretty sure a debit card works as well
With the new station, train is just one stop to city center, they run about every 20 minutes. With the app you have exact times and buy ticket
Right! 👍 1 stop by tram to Nice St. Augustin train station, change to train that goes to Nice ville. Depends on where you’re staying in Nice whether tram or train are the easier option
1 stop tram to station and it's free, then 1 stop by train to nice ville

But I have a question, if I buy 1-day pass costs 7 euros, is it possible that I only need buy 1 card for me and my wife? So I only need tap it twice every time we get on the tram/bus?
Oh, for day tickets I‘m not sure how it works to be honest… you‘d have to buy 2 day tickets. If you buy single trips for tram/bus in Nice (Lignes d‘Azur) you can validate one ticket twice to pay for 2 people.
@@rivierago thank you for your response

also curious why trams don’t introduce nfc so that you don’t have to travel a station from the airport just to buy a regular ticket… rip off at the airport for a family of 5.
The video was helpful indeed, thank you!
Hi, buses and tram in Nice are free for kids under 4 years. 2 children under 10 can share 1 ticket. Otherwise they need a full adult ticket (€ 1.70).
@@ronrko4419 thanks for explaining, since they accept Visa, they should accept vpay then… but with cash you‘re 100% safe 😊
Bravo Ladies, just bravo!
@@rivierago thank you so much for your very helpful suggestion. It's a pleasure watching your very informative videos.

Thanks! Sandra.
Hi, yes, you can definitely use it for several people, just validate it as many times as there are travellers
@@rivierago Thanks for your answer and all off your work!
Safe travels!

is there some subscription for the nice public transoport? for example a 7 day pass for all services?
Hey, yes, apparently there is: www.lignesdazur.com/pass-7-jours
The website says there’s a 7 day pass for Lignes d‘Azur (buses & tram in Nice and Metropolitan area) for €20, available at ticket machines at tram stops (among other places).
@@rivierago excellent, thank you. Is it possible to validate each trip for train in some app?
Hi, 4 of us going to Nice do we need to purchase 4 La carte cards. Thanks in advance.
Hi, no, you can share one! Just load it with multiple trips and validate 4 times when you use the tram with 4

can I buy ticket in advance for when I go back to the airport after 5 days? also what time is the earliest I can catch the tram from the city center since I need to be in the airport at 8 for an 11 am flight?
Yes, you can buy a return ticket right away, or 2 trips - same thing. The tram starts pretty early each day, between 4 and 5 in the morning, depending on the tram line you’re taking - so no worries for an 11 am flight!
@@rivierago thanks for the reply. can I still go to grand arenas first when I arrive at terminal 2 to get the 1.50 euro ticket instead of getting the 5.00euro plus the 1.50 euro? I mean it's still available right?

if I buy a train ticket from SNCF from Nice to Cannes on 8am and then back from Cannes to Nice on 6pm . Do I have to travel at that time only or I can travel at any time in a day and break journey in between at a stop between those two destination and then at later time continue journey. as well
Sorry we haven’t replied sooner. We‘re not sure and need to check; we‘ll get back to you!

Oh right, there are some (only a few) underground tram stations - that’s where these iron bars are. Honestly, not sure! Maybe just hand the ticket back over the bars to the other persons (because it is totally legal to share a card)? Let me call tomorrow, that’s a valid question!
