Mirkwood might be the single most fun Elvish faction to play imo. Their lack of infantry options make them not overpowered and gives uniqueness to their playstyle. The unit models are beautiful. I think the logic behind the shield value of the cavalry is that the large flat horns on the elks make it a pseudo arrow block chance equipment. But it's still sad to see the sword and shield infantry go , it was probably a balancing decision but I'll miss them because they were their in the Hobbit movie. Also I'd prefer the the faction name "woodland realms" since mirkwood was what the area was called post saurons appearance.
I remember a unit called Council Guard or something (Darth Maul style double blades). There was an old replay where one such unit went on a goblins flank and mowed down three units without a single loss.
Excellent overview, I think Mirkwood need their archers missile attack or accuracy increasing, skirmishing almost always results in heavy losses against cheap archers with Mirkwood. Not sure how best to balance this to be honest but across the board, elven archers should easily dominate skirmishing.
Honestly the armour upgrade look doesnt suit them well it could have been a bit darker for the palace guard and golden for the hir e units like in the movie but still my fav faction once i get my pc i am playing as them
Hot take: The armour upgrades for the hir e units are great, but the palace guard should look a little different when their armor are upgraded bc they just look like a normal main line infantry with a glave. Thats why imo their non upgraded unit model looks 10X better then upgraded there unit model Also what happened to their low tier infantry, the forest warden, did they lose them?

I'll fight the stans for this. But idk why people fanboy so much over imladris.
Woodland realms is definitely the best looking Elven faction
BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!! Mirkwood FTW!
does palace guard have axe animation or 2 handed spear animation (like fountain guard/troll slayers)?

was the sword and shield unit removed?
It seems like the rosters are slimmer than I remembered. Did the mod reach some sort of unit cap?
Yeah.
If you use EOP there is no unit limit @Hosheyakozilla
