Great vid Alex, might grab one of those light set ups...still probably overkill for the tiddlers I seem to catch ! Might see if they have a super long rod as well, most of my fishing is for Luderick on fly from the rocks around Sydney, bit more length might come in handy. Great drone shots, very nice.
Thanks for that mate! If i remember correclty, i think iv seen them sell some 10 and 11ft rods? They might have been Euro Nymph rods but not 100%. Sorry for the late reply haha
awesome vid again mate. also keen to hear your thoughts on the maxcatch rod? i own a Douglas fly rod 5wt and a 6wt maxcatch fly rod and i gotta admit for what you pay the maxcatch rods are great rods and cant fault them. also love the triton and the set up you have.
Thanks Anthony! Yeah i was quite surprised by the rod and line. I definitely wouldn't of thought the line is only 25 bucks. I actually bought myself a 6wt lake trout outfit from them for winter. Would have liked to land a trout to really see how the rod goes, but that'll come haha. And yee she goes alright haha thanks.
Nice mate. Always great to see footage from the snowies. Some great drone footage there, too. Be interested on your feedback of the maxcatch 3wt. You can't expect too much, I guess but it's amazing they can even do it for the money. Nice fish. Cheers PP
Thanks mate! In one word, surprising. The reel feels well made, same as the rod. Would have been nice to land a trout on the rod to truly test it haha.More importantly, the fly line. If I didn't know how much it cost I definitely wouldn't have thought its only 25 bucks. Its quite good, obviously it doesnt compare to the higher end lines, but its actually quite good for what it is. I wouldnt use them for my main rod and line, but for an outfit that ill only use a few times throughout the year i think its good.
@@alexazizo Yeah, look we're all a bit guilty of being gear freaks but mostly you get what you pay for, but a mate uses Maxcatch almost exclusively and he still catches lots of fish. I still have my first fibreglass rod, having learned on my grandfather's cane in the 1960s and we caught lots of fish, but I still love my new gear. Pretty interesting to sort it out - almost as much as trying to learn to think like a fish! 🙂 Keep the vids coming mate, along with the new stories. Cheers PP
@@mrpoopypants9586 well i ended up buying a 6wt outfit from them as well for winter lake fishing haha. Cant help myself. Thats sweet you get to see how the gear has changed over the years i guess. Cheers! Love your name by the way, gives me a chuckle every time i see it haha
wicked filming man im keen for more yew🤙
Thanks man!
