My 01 Town car is the smoothest car I have ever driven,take car of it and you will be good for years to come.
My first car was an 01 Lincoln town car. Good vehicle.

The 2006 Town Car uses ""Gold" color antifreeze, which can be Motorcraft brand or Zerex G-05.
You almost completed everything about the fluids except for the differential gear oil type.

No you don't the video states any "universal coolant". This is not good advice. The owners manual states "Engine coolant - Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant (YELLOW-COLORED) - 18.6 quarts (17.6L)".
@@jenniferscottadams1826 that actually, was great advice. The owners manual is for brand new car 1st owners. You have no idea what a previous owner put in there. Best to go with a coolant that will blend with all others.

this got me thinking of something from my youth..
my now dead grandpa told us to use outboard motor oil for our 2 strokes instead of normal oil. works better for decondencing the engine..
and i think he was right.
me and my brother have made crazy projects for 25+ years none of those with outboard oil have ever failed..
do you think it works on 4 stroke engines too ??
well outboard oil for 4 stroke ofcourse :)
I'm pretty sure outboard motor oil is meant for only use in 2 stroke engines. I think outboard oil will ruin a 4 stroke engine though I don't know why.

you should take a look at your oil cap then
+SterrShow The oil cap shows nothing but a typical oil logo. The sticker on the front of the engine bay shows the type of oil.

@BIG LO I have a 2010 Merc. Grand Marquis and a 2010 Town car. The Grand Marquis uses Mercon LV not Mercon V as shown in the video. Have not changed fluid in the TC yet, but I'll bet it also uses Mercon LV.

ATF - Fill to line on reservoir, Transmission fluid (4R75E)2 - Motorcraft MERCONV ATF - 13.9 quarts (13.2L)3
@@jenniferscottadams1826 The owners manual for my town car states MERCON LV for trans. and MERCON V for power steering. My sister owned an 05 Grand Marquis and it used MERCON V for both. Don't know what year it changed from V to LV. LV is fully synthetic so they do not mix. The LV stands for "low viscosity".
