    Are you using wet lenses to film underwater?

    • @TheKevinG58

      Yes. A few months ago I started using a 5X magnifier wet lens. Mostly with the kit 14-42mm zoom on my Olympus e-pl5. I've used it for 'super-macro' with my Olympus 60mm macro a couple of times , and it delivers fantastic results when I can manage depth of field, which is almost non-existent in that configuration. I enjoy the versatility the wet lens gives, not being committed to one mode for a dive is great!

      Just added the AOI-UWL 09 Pro to my Olympus E-PL10 Housing system and give great flexibility in short choices.

      @@MatthiasLebo suggestion for an upcoming video(s)....more detail on how to achieve correct video color underwater and how to WB correctly using white or grey cards, and when to use each? Also use of ambient light filters on video light and use of red filters on cameras systems. Love your stuff. Thanks!

      Thank you buddy, all these topics are already on my list of ideas for future videos. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish and publish them in January. But good to hear that these topics are of interest. I’ll try to prioritize them. 👍🏻😉

    Hello thank you for your videos. how i properly dry my wet lenses after use it and wash? mine always get some small marks on the back side on the lens :(

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are just water marks and nothing to worry about (as long as you rinse it in fresh water after each use). They will disappear next time you put it in water. You can use a soft microfibre cloth though to give them a quick clean if you want.

    why do you think the benefit is larger on compact cameras than mirrorless? thinking of going for sony 28-60 with nauticam wetlenses to be able to shoot macro and wideangle, my sony 90mm can feel very limited

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because on a compact camera you can’t exchange lenses so the only way to go beyond the focal length of your cameras zoom range is by using wet lenses. On mirrorless cameras on the other hand you can simply choose a lens with your preferred focal length and don’t need to use wet lenses. A high quality normal lens will generally speaking always give you better optical results than a wet lens. So if your system has exchangeable lenses, make use of it. But if it doesn’t then I would use wet lenses and that’s why I think they are more beneficial on compact cameras. Hope this makes sense?

    Do you know what to do with white spots inside the dome of the lens?

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it dried up salt or something else? Seems like your lens is not 100% waterproof anymore. You can try to open it up, clean it and put it back together (at own risk) or bring it to a certified underwater camera store. They can do it for you.

    • @astroboyace
      @astroboyace ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I assume its dried up saltwater. Its a new lens and used only once. Contacted the dive shop so they can coordinate with kraken… thanks! I dont want yo open and risk voiding the warranty.
