- A macro wet lens can be a very useful tool for underwater filmmaking and make your existing underwater video setup a lot more versatile. In this video I'll share with you the 3 reasons, why everyone filming underwater should have a macro wet lens.

Hi Matthias, I use a Sony AX100 in a Gates Housing. Is there a good Wet Lens which is zoomable? I normaly take videos on a distance of 30cm plus because I don't want to contact anything under water. Most time there is also no space for a tripod, so I have to film mostly with good buoyancy.
Great video! I assume the same benefits also apply to a SLR or mirrorless camera, even if the diopter is added to a macro lens? I use a Canon M6 Mk II with a 60mm macro lens, and have been tempted to add a +5 or +10 diopter. My most recent Bonaire trip had me hitting that minimum focal distance issue with those blennies, and the added magnification sounds like a nice benefit.
Second question. How did you keep the camera steady when filming the blenny?
Yes absolutely. A macro wet lens will have the same effect used on SLR and mirrorless camera.
The secret to a stable macro shot is using a tripod my friend. 😉
Hi Matthias. Can you explain why a macro wet lens would be a good idea for a TG-6? They can already focus up to the glass on the camera housing. I can see why you'd want a wide angle though.
Yes, the minimal focusing distance of a TG6 is great, but you can still benefit from the magnification of the macro lens, which is particularly useful on really small objects.
i cant seem to have my auto focus to work when shooting video on tg6+macro lens. any suggestion?

@@MatthiasLebo I’m using a Nauticam CMC-2 lens. I’m very happy with it but sometimes the depth of field becomes too shallow but it’s really good for all the tiny stuff around here. I might want to buy one with less strong magnification to be more versatile.

May I ask what would be the benefit of having such a lens with the TG6? The camera itself is capable of amazing macro. Is it the better optics from a better quality lens? It allows magnification without having to zoom all the way in?
You're right, the TG6 does offer superb macro capabilities already. But with such a macro wet lens attached to it, you will get some extra magnification, hence you'll be able to capture your object of desire larger and in more detail.

Yes, if you use an adapter for the thread to make it fit onto the Divevolk lens holder. But because this macro lens was not created specifically for smartphone sensors, I'm not quite sure how well it will perform when used with an iPhone. Haven't tested that.

@huiyongchia DiveVolk has a macro wet lens, but I don’t think it’s very good. Have a look at the products from AOI (www.aoi-uw.com/products/wet-lenses.html). I think they make high-quality wet lenses.
