- The Smile - Just Eyes and Mouth - San Francisco, Live, 12-18-22, 1st row, Bill Graham Civic. Thom Yorke: Someone left the fu*kin' door open somewhere... Freezing in here! Jeezus! lol
Other Tidbits:
Thom: Ladies and gentlemen, we're a new band... we're going to play a new song...
OK, another new one... Or else we're only going to be here for 45 minutes lol
(Before the 2nd attempt to play People on Balconies): It's because I'm playing in a fu*king draft... Never playing here again! Sorry guys! lol
It was in fact unusually cold and breezy inside the venue, lol. The band however toughed it out, not only on stage, but outside the tour buses, as Thom, Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner spent almost 2 hours signing fans' Smile and Radiohead albums, posters and other memorabilia after the show! I got my city-specific tour poster autographed by all three which was nice and it was great listening to all the fun banter they had with the fans.

Just cant get over how the keyboard recontextualizes the guitar riff, makes it less chaotic and more melodic. Beautiful, funky, playful.
How did they not put this on Wall of Eyes? What a banger. Is this the sexiest song they've ever written?
must be saving it for a sexier album then, look out for lp3
Thom has said that recording a song is like carving it in stone, i hope they keep it baking till they feel it’s ready like Nude and Identikit
@@Joeljaboy I also think this song needs a nice moving baseline to play off the guitar line. I can see this one being saved for the big band someday.
This song was performed at their very first show. It's baking almost as long as true love waits. Well, not quite that long but long enough. Great song. @Joeljaboy
@@theorangeoof926 It's coming in a couple of months! 😀
Man Thom is vibing so much at these shows. ❤️
The man the myth, revolutionist Thom Yorke. HE’s dancing his demons away literally! Smile😅
I have listen to the album Cutouts this evening and it's an absolute gem ! 💙
Man, if the studio version captures enough of what makes this version so good it could easily be one of their best songs. Definitely looking forward to this track on the album the most so far
I've heard it - and it's better than you could even expect.
@@ceriknHow were you able to listen?
@@nikidosya5201 a friend is a journalist and got an advance stream that I listened to at her house. Colours Fly sounds pretty badass too :-)
@@ceriknHow was the acoustic version of Instant Psalm?
Confirmed, they cooked on this one
I will not survive seeing a performance like this in person!
Through the glass
Look at you
Eyes and mouth
You only say the words
And then turn them 'round
No matter what the situation
Telling yourself this is nowhere
You appear now, then you disappear
You let it slide, letting it
Soon to complete your transformation
And beginning all this all over again
To be changing, always becoming
A traveler passing through
No one to worry about
No one all
There’s nowhere to be
Now my shadow of light in the dark
Someone I knew somewhere before
Soon to complete the transformation
And beginning all this all over
Through the glass
Just look at you
Your eyes and mouth
Tapping on any window
Nothing about letting go and entertaining the audience is beneath Thom Yorke. Loved Radiohead since I was just entering my teens. 32-odd years later, The Smile is making me smile, a lot. Thank you for the upload. 🙂
Three albums for this great song to make it!
This is such a good song! I really hope it gets a proper release soon!
confirmed to be coming to lp3 😋
He can do the running man forward and backward 🤯🎉
quality vid. one for the history books. god i wish concert videos from the 60s were this clear
so many good songs that didn't make it to the album, I hope they release these as singles, EP, or b sides records ASAP
They are working on another album
if this isn't on the second album im gonna shit a brick, especially considering how much joy they clearly feel performing it
@@pantalaemon according to the rumors, it didn’t make it
@@davlogs4327where did you see that?
as its not on the next album, maybe as a single? or perhaps radiohead/solo material
When is "Cut a Hole" gonna become a Smile song and go on an album? It's one of my favorite unreleased Radiohead songs.
Thank for that fabulous video ! I'll see them soon in live, I can't wait !
The intro to this song is excactly , or well the guitar riff is exactly as a Radiohead outro, I think its show host , the bends b side, in the latest 2016 tour . IM SURE!

you're correct brudah
I have watched this video too many times 😮
So have I❤😂
Bah. How is this not on the album?! Hopefully they changed the name to “I quit,” or “you know me.”🤞
Prob saving it for potential Radiohead album
@@CarterKeberdle Radiohead jammed to this guitar riff during their last tour
I think it’ll show up on the third album, as will Colours Fly, Bodies Laughing, etc.
@@th.nd.r Right you are
patience is virtue brother 🙏
05 JEAM let’s goooo LP3!!!!
Johnnys part must be a nightmare to play live .
wowwwww wtf guys ❤🖖🎸🎤🥁
❗️❗️❗️
Slowly but steadily, Thom Yorke is repeating himself more and more musically. I've been a fan for many years, but this time he didn't catch me..too much mainstream...sorry...
