- On Episode 413 of Spittin’ Chiclets, the guys are joined by Marian Hossa and Ryan Reaves. Hossa joined (01:17:55) to discuss his career, losing back to back cups, his one year deal in Detroit and winning three in Chicago. The way Hossa handled the jokes about moving from PITT to Detroit and missing the Cup says everything about his character. Great guy, self deprecated attitude that accepted life as it came and used it as a learning experience that lead to multiple cup wins in Chicago

A NHL Affirmative Action program??? You have to hire this person because of the color of their skin and not their experience or talent...sounds like a setup for failure to me.

As a Devils fan who simply just knows more than you all, which is understandable, Bratt on the 1 year deal is not him wanting to leave.
The true rumor is the Bratt wanted a long term deal at a high AAV (Nico/Hughes range), while the Devils were offering a long term deal at a lower AAV (roughly 1.5-2mil lower). They ended up both agreeing on a 1 year "prove it" deal at the AAV of what he was going most likely get in arbitration.
If Bratt proves he can replicate his break out year, which he is doing in spades, we'll give him his big time deal. I fully assume the next negotiation will go much easier.

Biz is great, Reavo is cool, met him in Vegas at his bar when I lived there, but Reaves got the better shots in on their fight in 2013. Then got thrown down. Overall as far as fights go it was more of a meh dance.
