    Where I see technology like this being useful, is as a training aid to help people read putts. I would never suggest wearing this while putting; but set someone up with a putt, have them read it normally (i.e. "I see this as slightly uphill, 6 inch break left-to-right") and putt it normally. Then have them put the gizmo on and re-read the putt, get a new aim point, take the gizmo off and try the putt again. People need to be able to use their own eyes, plus the information from walking the green (you can FEEL the slopes with your feet), and sometimes even taking wind into account, to actually read the putt. Putting is very much about FEEL, being able to use your senses to figure out the line and speed is a skill people need to learn. Used well, this kind of technology could be helpful - but I fear some would use it as a "crutch" and never learn to read putts unassisted.

      @@krusher74 I watched the whole video, and I heard that part.... then 80% of the video is Rick putting while wearing the glasses. Yes, it SHOULD be used as a training aid to help people learn to read greens. My point was, take the thing off while you're actually hitting the putt. You do not want to get dependent on that kind of "here's your target line, here's a thing to square your putter up to" aid while you're hitting the putt.

    • @puttviewofficial
      @puttviewofficial 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The good news is: even if people only use it as a "crutch" they will still learn. Technology continuously helps lower scores, but the courses are remaining the same. When is it going to be "Too much"? I feel we are hitting a point that maybe the "Courses/Game itself" needs love. Tough love that is. Imagine the hole diameter being reduced by just 1/8" (0.3 centimeters). That impact would be like a hurricane. Maybe a maximum fairway width of 30 yards, forcing us all to play tighter. Like how the NFL extra point was so easy, to make it more challenging for the game, they moved it back.
    I may not be explaining myself the best. Hope some people understand my point. Just an old guys thoughts. Thanks Rick and Rock on 🤘😎

    I'm a XR (AR and VR developer) myself. Gotta give them credit for the software making a few assumptions here that helps because the scanning itself on the Hololens 2 is nowhere near precise enough to identify small bumps. 7:12 Below? Huh? The left is the high side with a l-r breaker. Ball tracked the first 40% right on blue line and then stayed high for the remainder. Had you hit it harder (instead of die-at-hole speed), the ball would've ended up even more to the high side. Both of your puts at this hole indicate the system's blue line is not reliable. And that's precisely what one should expect (from this gimmick). I mean sure, it can be right from time to time...on certain putts. But besides contours, grain can radically influence lines. And speed is a guess...always influx due to various weather matters. That aside, the accuracy of the scan and then the processing of that (not always reliable scan) data leaves lots of room for errors. It's in combining all of those problem areas that...jfc...you'd be hard pressed to make a case for any value. And that would be true even if it was priced at $19.99.

  • @medhurstt
    @medhurstt 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I assume you can see in your footage that for the last long put, your clubface wasn't actually square against the AR lines and the ball actually went according to where you were actually aiming it which was a little left of target.

    As a terrible golfer myself, it’s crazy to think that people can still be bad at golf. Nowadays you have so much technology and access with apps, coaches, clubs, etc. that it just makes you appreciate golfers from back in the day That much more

    The green speed was probably just a bit lower so that could’ve made you miss that last putt!

    just cuz u can SEE the line you gotta hit.... doesnt mean u can do it, Might save a few strokes for the avg guy max but all its gonna do is basically get u a lil closer, its not gonna turn ur round of 96 into an 85

    • @TArnold821
      @TArnold821 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Golf+ imo is good for swing path, and tempo training. But distance wise is literally only based on the club you're using, I can smash a driver 300+ with a slow swing with one arm. Also its impossible to thin or chunk a ball in that game. Living in WI I love playing it in the winter months, but its no where near realistic.

    I will say when I was watching this the last 2 putts that you hit and missed left of the hole if you look at the alignment aids in the goggles from what you were showing us you were actually setup closed to the ball ever so slightly but if you actually squared up on those 2 putts they go in cause they both started ever so slightly left of the target line just saying but very impressive technology

    Golf pro hit 5 putts way glasses that literally line up your putt, show you your line, animate the tempo it needs to be hit and the golf pro holed 2 out the 5 😂😂😂

    Unfortunately, the average golfer's putting stroke is so poor and inconsistent that knowing all the details won't do them any good. Better to spend the money on putting lessons.

    • @puttviewofficial
      @puttviewofficial 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PuttView X helps you improve poor and inconsistent strokes very intuitively. By seing the right line you will automatically make adjustments to your stroke to be able to hit that line. Even if you have no idea about putting in the first place
