Was this a great video? Yes!
Do Mike and Chris have good rapport and information? Yes!
Can we expect more awesome content like this from them? Yes!
Should I watch this video over now, or save it for later? That's right.

the last question was a wrong one.. coz you can't answer yes or no to it.. actually those are two questions... 😉

@@peteroz7332 actually I meant the last one to be a double bind, not part of the three question yes set above it.

I've used the first tactic numerous times when I used to pitch timeshare presentations. I'd pitch people and tell them "I have your two for one coupon right here...here go ahead and take this".
I remember a few people backing up and refusing to take it 🤣

Many years ago - before Google Earth was a thing, I sold aerial photos door to door.
The pitch was brilliant: 'Hi - I'm from Sky Library. You may have seen us flying over here the other day doing some survey work; while we were up there we took a rather interesting shot of your home...'
We'd hand them the framed print, stand back and put our hands behind our back as we talked:
'Its come out really well, hasn't it? We don't capture many as good as this; as you can imagine, flying a plane is hugely expensive, but as our contractor has paid for all you can take advantage of that today for just £65'
At this point other family members would come to the door and interest would build - and this was of course something that they already owned - it's THEIR house!
The double bind was: 'you can hang this on your wall right now OR you can order the larger print for £85 and keep this one with our compliments now. I wonder where it would look best for you?'
That job taught me so much about sales, body language & persuasion techniques. Best of all, I earnt a boat-load of cash that summer in the process and made many people very happy.
But then Google Earth came along...🤣

Thank you for the video. One thing though..... I am certain that "matching and mirroring" has been a known technique waaaaaaay before NLP was ever a thing.
"Unless you're crazy... to use the medical term", was funny! 😆

NLP goes back to the 70s. Do you have an earlier reference?

    • @NickvonZ

@@MikeMandelHypnosis Absolutely. I know you are familiar with Asian culture, etc. There is a famous Zen tale regarding one of the old Masters, Hakuin perhaps, I can't remember exactly at the moment (as I read it about 35 years ago. It's well known, though), who was troubled by a mouse or rat who was running around while he was trying to sleep and keeping him awake. So Hakuin (?) matched the rodent's breathing pattern for a bit, then slowed his own breathing progressively which the rodent then compulsively matched. Hakuin slowed his breathing to the point that the rodent got hypoxia, and passed out. Hakuin then collected the fainted mouse, and put it outside. That story is a few hundred years old. I am sure you can find it.
Also, I am a several decade Martial artist myself, and 2 of the 5 Martial Arts I hold Black Belts in, I studied in Japan. One of which uses various,"esoteric" techniques, shall we say, along with the myriad exoteric techniques. Rapport is one of the areas of study, and matching breathing and body language was part of that. And I am rather certain that my Sensei never heard of NLP.
I imagine there are more examples.
I enjoy your presentations very much! Learning a lot. Thank you!
