I always say this to sasaengs. If the idols really wanted you, by now they would of exchanged details in some way. And we all know they dont want you because if you did exchange details you would not be spending 85% of your life following all these people taking photos. So like please come to reality and do something that makes you genuinely happy, not obsessed. They are two very different emotions.

exactly. i know that there have been idols who have dated or even married people who aren’t idols or who have even been their fans, so it can happen, but these sasaengs aren’t their partners nor do i think they’ll ever be just because i don’t think that people would want to date their stalkers 💀.

fr, i noticed that the richer fans tend to be more unhinged. this is a slightly different situation but there’s this somewhat popular editor i know on instagram (though not a sasaeng) who regularly s3xualizes and objectifies ateez (especially sanhwa), and i just learned that they got vip tickets to see them in concert.

@@Grace-pd5lu Ah no, they always get into fansign because they pay for info in advance for the cut. In the end, they're paying customers. Additionally- the thing about vip stans is that when they're on flights with the idols, they pass them gifts and all and the staff just let it go.

It's honestly a shame for both the idols and the fans. 99% of people they meet are either these guys or drop shippers who take advantage of fans who don't know any better or can't afford shipping, etc. We all know the boys get so much more out of meeting genuine fans (not just people who have a lot of money/are hopping on a trend) and so many fans drop so much money (as an Atiny that has been dropping good money on the fansigns for 4 years) so it would be nice for everyone to get one experience rather than the idols having to see the same person at every fansign acting like they're best friends. I just wish there were more chances for other fans to meet them, especially those that don't have money but do everything else they can 🥺

It's slightly off-topic but I never understood the "you can't have the same bias as me" mentality. Like??? When I was at the Ateez concert last year, I made friends with a girl whose bias was Wooyoung (he was my wrecker, but after the concert he graduated to top 3 lmao) and it was SO FUN TO FANGIRL WITH HER. I love the fact that my sister and I both bias Yuqi in (G)I-DLE. One of my bestie ults Baekhyun and her 2nd bias is Sehun - my EXO bias is Sehun and Baek is a wrecker. It works out perfectly because we can both scream at the same pictures and clips lmao
It's much better do fangirl together. Being friends with people who love the same artists? Fun. Having the same bias? FUN AS HELL

I think it’s a difference in what being a fan for them means. We are a fan in the sense that we appreciate and enjoy what they do. People like her are “fans” because they want attention from the idols. Another person with the same bias is a rival who could take away some of that attention in their eyes

Here's the thing why i started to kinda have the not have same bias mentality. I used to ALWAYS look for people who have same biases as so i can brag about how great and talented they are and they'd add more. But my closest friend started to compete with me about that biases and she legit have her own ults but she'd make it in a weird way especially since all she points out is how hot and sexy when thats usually the last thing i mention but rather how much they mean to me. Also she'd emphasizes with "MY" a lot so i started doing it because it was getting under my skin and i did actually confront her and told her that's too delulu and not healthy but i can tell it's the way she is and I honestly love her so much and so does but yk nobody is perfect. Overall i love having friends who have same biases as mine but with the type of person like my friend i rather not because it can ruin my experience. Since i legit at one point stopped talking about my main ult who's from a group she doesn't stan but she'd always say delulu stuff seeing him as incredibly hot man and i personally hate objectifying IDOLS and only acknowledge them for THAT.
I'm sorry this was long but i just wanted to share this because its annoying and wanna see if anyone went through something similar.
Oh! And btw the reason we've became best friends i legit approached her because we had the same ult from nct. Like clearly i was looking for my people

I just started watching but wtf. Jisung has really bad anxiety and you can see it in some videos in airports where he's holding one of his members, keeping his head down, headphones in and mouthing words to a song he's listening to. the boy was only 14 when he debuted. he's still pretty young, but he wasn't able to grow up that well. Jisung has said he has anxiety and gets anxious when mobbed. There's a specific video I remember where he's holding tightly onto Lele's backpack. His head was down and his hat was hiding 40% of his face. He was listening to music and muttering the words to himself. It made me so fcking angry. The poor boy deserves to be worry free of sasaengs but unfortunately, he is not. NCT sasaengs are some of the worst sasaengs next to BTS sasaengs. They can go do things without constant fans. Hell, last year they did an in person meet up, in LA, in a park and everyone was so respectful of their space! It's okay to call an idol ur husband/wife/gf/bf/bestie etc. but going out of your way to ACT like they really are your bf/gf etc. is just obsession. You do NOT need to go to the airport just to see ur fav idol. Fansigns, fanmeetings, concerts, etc exist for a reason. An idol can comfort you, but you don't need to acc act like you know them personally. It's scary how these people actually think this way. I've only just watched the beginning of the video but the idols they interact with send shivers down my spine: Enhypen, NMIXX both have pretty young members who are minors / just became adults; depending on when they started liking NCT / Dream and how many members of the group they like there are also minors included, and the most concerning ones IMO are Woongki since he doesn't really have a company anymore since last year due to him finally leaving WakeOne (who sucks) and zb1 where they literally post a minor (Yunjin) and overall the fact that they seem to like BoysPlanet which had quite a bunch of minors and contestants without protection in form of a company is terrifying
I don't know which one scares me more: them liking groups with minors / the minors themselves whilst being a stalker or the fact that they seem to like people from companies that suck in terms of idol protection (W1, SM), very small companies or just straight up don't have any protection from any group (Woongki, potentially more BP999 contestants of which the youngest are '07 and '08 liners)
I really don't get how someone can be that disgusting
Edit: Why does Yunjin have to be one of her favourite idols? The kid already got to hear enough, he doesn't need another person who's prolly obsessed with him calling them "Noona" and he also doesn't need more stress with a stalker
It's disgusting how someone can do smth like that, especially to a child with lacking protection

Saesangs are mostly the kpop industry reaping what it sows. The idea that you're really getting to know the idol as a person, and that they're an eligible single. Don't blame the people dumb enough to fall for the marketing trap, blame the company for making parasocial relationships with idols a large part of their marketing strategy. The idols are victims of some saesangs (if they break into a group's dorm of try to kidnap them, both have happened), but they're first of all victims of a company that fosters obsession with them, then leaves them to face the consequences. For example by not having them fly private so people are able to get on the same plane.

    @faeriegraver หลายเดือนก่อน +139

Yeah, it's so engrained into people's minds that "beauty" is synonymous with being good, and "ugliness " is associated with being evil.
Stalking is terrifying for the victim, and it doesn't matter what the perpetrator looks like. If they appear to seem to be not seem to be threatening for whatever reason/s that doesn't make it any less scary, creepy, and violating for the victim.
It isn't an insult if she's funding this through any form of sex work. It is misogynistic. It doesn't matter. It would only be anything to note if a person was committing acts such as robbery and therefore harming others to fund the stalking.
People have even excused the actions of violent criminals due to their appearance.
For me, a person's actions, their personality, and the way they treat others will shine through and effect their attractiveness. If a person is kindhearted it makes them beautiful. A nasty, selfish, unpleasant person who hurts others will be repulsive to me physically.
It's wild to me that she skipped a concert to sit on an airplane! I can't comprehend it. I couldn't afford to see ATEEZ when they had a concert in London. I really wanted to go but it just wasn't affordable for me at that point, but I'm hopeful for the future.
It must be down to one of two things, or maybe a bit of both. Total delusional thinking - believing that the flight is going to be a meet cute like something out of a movie or maybe more like a bad fanfic. OR getting a kick out of negatively impacting the victim. Idols have been poisoned, and similar things to that... They want to leave their mark on them and they don't care if it's for a bad reason.
Power and control comes into abusive behaviour. People can really enjoy the misery they are causing.
Being followed on a flight is so wrong, that's a time where the idols should be able to relax. Not be anxious about their every move. It would be great if something could be done to protect people from this behaviour. Don't let these creeps on the flights. It's not safe.
I love NCT. 127 are my favourite subunit. But I have seen so much despicable behaviour targeted at NCT as a whole. From people camping outside dorms, being followed on flights, older members getting hated for protecting younger members and cursing at the stalkers, and being creeped on when filming content including a time they were filming in a basement and fans were looking in from above.
SM is so bad with doing anything about it. TVXQ had some terrifying stuff happening back in the day and it's not gotten any better.
It even played into what happened with Lucas. Lucas called out this behaviour in livestreams. SM have never clarified exactly what he did wrong, there was a lot of evidence that at least some of the allegations appeared to be fabricated by stalkers. SM should have taken action, and been clear about what happened. They appear to be sticking to being vague and not addressing anything head-on. So it's impossible to come to a conclusion. Anything that was a malicious rumour should have been publicly debunked by SM. Anything that was the work of a stalker should have been dealt with. Anything that was real should have been addressed. How can he be apologising for something when we don't know what he's apologising for? It's so sketchy, but whatever the case I feel I can at least say it points to SM being useless. They can't be bothered to protect their idols. They can't be bothered to take action against stalking which is a huge, documented issue. They also won't even address an idols wrongdoings directly. They can't even be bothered to disband groups.
Anyway. Essay over. I've been struggling with depression a lot this year, so my heart goes out to Duck. Thank you for your content. Look after yourself.

I'm someone who hyperfixate on whatever my current obsession is but fans like that scare me. I can understand being obsessive but going so far as to stalking (illegal), invading others' privacy and endangering the idols is not ok.
Not to mention they can ruin the idol's whole career just because of something they perceived as a slight against them by their idol(and suddenly their obsessive love turn into hate).
I also agree that no matter how attractive one is, if they're horrible, their inner ugliness just ooze out. But unfortunately, we live in a society where a lot of people would deliberately ignore the bad characters and personalities just for the sake of conventionally attractive physical appearances.
I think idols agencies definitely need to step up with their security measures and protecting their idols. Like we have all these incidents (and tragic events where the celebrities lost their lives) of crazy fans harming their subjects of fantasies in an entertainment industry that don't rely on selling boyfriend/girlfriend fantasy. So what makes those idol agencies think, their idols will be safe when they're in an industry that's selling fans the delusion of being able to be with their favourite idols. If your business model is based on fueling people 's delusions, you're gonna have to prepare to fend of delusional fans. You can't not think that there won't be some crazies out there.

Idols do in fact notice pretty fan's and even flirt but they're not stupid and it makes these "fans" so not attractive to them due to their obvious attempts for attention and worse, invading their privacy.

Also the mingi situation might have been the dark abyss scandal where people spread false info about a popular anime in Korea called dark abyss saying it was cp(it was not) mingi, woozi, taeyong and soobin where all involved basically someone posted a fan call with mingi the audio was bad and she kept muting herself and when fans asked her to clarify the situation causing people where mocking his anxiety body shaming him saying he should take his own life and calling him a predator(as a victim of child s/a I was lived with fans)the person refused (it happened when ateez was about to have a comback so many people thought it was sabotage attempted) Sakura was also talked about but most of the people spreading misinformation and attacking the guys said it's OK she watched it because she's japanese(the racism and double standards was stong)

The mingi situation was at coachella where a "fan" got her phone case signed by mingi and got to talk to him for a bit but was later exposed for having an alt account on twitter that sent death threats, doxxing, and gore content to nctzens (i think) and other kpop fans. FYI to everyone her @ is mingkissie and if you are following them, pls unfollow/block. I wonder if she was a big piece of San saying during a live after Coachella that he really doesn't like people following them around and taking pictures and videos without their consent and actively seeking them out while they're "off the clock." He said he's protective of them and he really really doesn't like that behavior, that he's happy to run into someone inadvertently, like at a store or restaurant or something, but people who actively seek them out and follow them is inappropriate. KQ also recently released a statement about appropriate airport behavior and how it reflects on all atiny.
    So yeah... Oof.

But I completely understand what he means with people following them around. It's rude and weird. That's why I hate how people hard-core follow idols at the airport. It's like fam your phone has a zoom, stop sticking to them like glue. It's so weird....

I look at nct dream ssngs extra crazy cuz there's an 80% chance that they've been stalking them since they were literally children. We already kno for a fact that this behaviour really damaged haechan, Markus and Renjun, seeing how they spoke up about it and consequentially now suffer from anxiety, don't feel safe at home and what not. Shit rlly breaks my heart, cuz these dudes barely enter adulthood and still don't get to know what real peace feels like. filming idols literally in the plane should be grounds for kicking you off the flight.. I'd at least be kicking the back of her seat!! 😍
I'm glad you did go beyond "she's too pretty to be doing this" and mentioned other hobbies/skills she could be participating in. here's my proposal---the best of both worlds---since you love airports so much and have enviable looks: try a career as a flight attendant!!
I find the halo effect phenomenon interesting to some extent, but it mostly just makes me feel violent :) I try to balance things by assuming attractive people are actually worse people.
but I really do appreciate that you are pursuing justice here in this corner of the internet! this is good niche content! and you present things with a sense of humor and lighter tone, which is super duper appreciated because these are more serious topics and I become anxious so easily when hearing about bad things.
my guess for your dream bias is haechan. I would share mine but ot7 are all constantly wrecking me I cannot choose one. I'd go to war for any one of them. which is quite fitting as ncity is a 24/7 absolute fucking warzone

I don't understand how they get away with it because if these weren't idols being stalked, the police would get involved with this much harassment. Is she also the girl who always seems to get in the NCT videos when they're filming? The touching thing with Hongjoong - does she mean she wants to touch his face too, as in the photo it seems like he has his hand on his cheek.

No matter how far you try to get away from them, they'll always follow you and come up with excuses like "Hey I wanna see you because I'm interested in filming a collab" or "I convinced my manager if my group can perform in this music festival too so we can see each other more!" You want to say no, but can't, because you don't know what they'll do or that people won't believe you.

The crowds usually go from 7000ish to 50.000 depending on city/country and arena. These claims are so outlandish. He has said it feels creepy when he can tell that someone hasn’t just run into them but has stalked them, and he has told people that tried calling him, that he will never pick up and that they arent real fans if they are stalking them and getting their phone numbers and stuff. It’s refreshing to see him call out these ‘fans’ that behave inappropriately and stalk them, and I wish idols felt more comfortable/were allowed to say to leave them alone like that.

hi!! as someone from hong kong i would like to provide some context about why this person would so openly post and talk about the said idols like this (btw this isn’t to say that she did nothing wrong because what she did was indeed insanely inappropriate)
    1) calling an idol your “husband” or 老公 is very common in the chinese/hk fan community
    2) following idols to airports or buying plane details is unfortunately insanely common in hk fan culture, its so easy to buy these details and for very very cheap too many many fans even if they arent technically ‘sasaengs’ or aren’t overly delusional do buy these details
    3) a lot of the messages she wrote in her instagram stories are kind of mistranslated or some phrases are used in a joking manner
    4) and for the same bias thing, a lot of fans don’t like or even unfriend people who have the same bias as them, theres a term for it which is 同擔

As much as i hate to say this, but this sasaeng is a vip fan. And because of that, there is a little thing that idol can do. This sasaeng is treated as a vip because they spent thousand of dollar to see their fav idol. They bring big money to the company, of course company not going to punished them badly until they will stop, since this sasaeng is most likely their source of income.
Because as casual fan you most likely listen their music in spotify or applemusic, you buy their album sometimes, you go to their concert one time or just watch free live stream on youtube
The other dedicated fan will listen to your song, buy your album, maybe making a post, buy you a gift sometimes, going to your concert most of the times. But this kinda thing is expensive so they never really doing it much and usually they do it together with other dedicated fan
But sasaeng?? They probably buy a thousand bulk of your album everytime you out with a new song, go to all of your concert, gift?? Whatever you say in live or just lightly mention it, they will buy it. Even if you take a shit they will buy it, that how excessive sasaeng is. But that also means they bring big money, they probably comes from a wealthy family, or have a big fat chunck of money just sitting around from inheritance or something, so they have all the time in the world to chase after their idol, because this people seriously think they have a chance with their idol, that why some of them is conventionally attractive or they kinda fit into the korean beauty standard
that's also why company always let them go. They will punish them if they go to far, but not bad enough to stop them, pretty much just light punishment.

The footage of jisung where all the other fans (including her) are gathered round, shoving their phones in his face genuinely made me feel sick. I would understand idols battling gratitude alongside a deep contempt for their fandoms due to such dehumanising treatment. Me personally? I would go apeshit but I don’t have a livelihood to lose 🙄

The worst part is these companies will not do anything , kpop is built off of these parasocial relationships if anything companies promote it heavily at the expense of the idols cause it makes them money. I’ve talked to a lot of Korean fans of my favourite girl group loona, it is common for the same fans to show up to fansigns / schedules / airports everytime for Korean fans that is normal and they see nothing wrong with it and with the amount of fansigns companies do right now fans really think they have a relationship with the idol as they talk to them so often to the point the idols know them personally 😭 the industry is so messed up

What is the problem if the same person goes to fan sign multiple times?

    • @kimliplover
      @kimliplover 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@Breathinbreathout-ov4lo I don’t think multiple times is a bad thing at all I’ve done fancalls for my favorite groups too but seeing them and talking to them everrryyy single event for some people can create a really strong one sided relationship that could end up with the fan thinking they are entitled and actually the idols friends and close with them and it’s more than just idol > fan relationship

Even 10 years ago staff would sell information to crazy “fans” and watching this I’m sad to see that it’s still going on. People wouldn’t have as much information on where the idols will be if it wasn’t for someone close to them selling the information.

I think instead of only seeing these sasaengs as JUST bad guys(even though the do a lot of weird, bad and probably ilegal things) they are mentally unstable, if you're THAT obsessed over an idol you have something wrong going on up their. They need help, it cannot be healthy for them to spend this much time and energy on someone who probably doesn't even know them. So in conclusion, i think companies need to hire more security, maybe even make the idols go through a less public way at the airport cause clearly it is way to dangerous, not only for the idols but probably even the fans and, second, the sasaengs SERIOUSLY need profesional help, or atleast touch some grass.

Btw- airport arrivals are public knowledge and almost 90% of the time their departure and arrival are always anticipated by media, and considering how easy it is to get info about when they'll be departing from ICN, fans going to the airport is very much anticipated. Also- fansites are not sasaengs, but some sasaengs are fansites and they earn money by taking pictures of the idols to sell to media outlets etc. I'm not saying kling is not a sasaeng, but I hope people do not put her in the same group as fansites.
On another note, someone already pointed this out but if an idol wanted to contact you they would have very easily found a way to exchange details. Maybe 80% of idols are dating, and more than half the time they're dating non idols. Your chances of ever being with them actually goes down by virtue of you being a fan because of how risky it is to their security and safety.

(Mine are Hongjoong and Jaemin.... and Matthew for ZB1, but Gunwook and Hanbin are a VERY close second and third >.

I cannot for the life of me understand what and how seasangs are thinking. They claim to love them, but don't care about making these people uncomfortable in the slightest.
The idols show so so much of their lifes already, I sometimes feel like invading their privacy watching some of their officially published stuff. How anyone thinks it is okay to take even more of it in following them around, calling them on their freking private phones or downright hunting them down..? That is scary, inconsiderate, extremely rude and mentally unhealthy for everyone involved.
Please let them have at least some peace!
