Goodness gracious. The level feels more alive than ever, vibrant lighting, better texture quality. I never thought I would end up appreciating a Forces' stage. This definitely puts forces to shame. This is incredible. . . . ||Sonic Forces you to port his stages to a better game.||
I hate how Forces just reeks of lost potential. At least with 06 it was fixable because the level design itself is some of the best in all of Sonic, but Forces barely tried. They had all these cool ideas but messed it up by rushing it.
Exactly, 06 was salvageable enough to the point where you can follow the exact recipe and let it bake enough, this time, in the oven, while Forces has a lot of neat ingredients but aren't enough to make a cake that stands out, it needs a lot of love from evey aspect.
This level alone is better than all Cyberstages in Frontiers. The only boost games I like better than Forces are Rush Adventure, Colours DS, and Generations. The only flaw Forces had is that some levels are too short and others too linear, but on the whole it definitely has better level design than Colours and the best soundtrack since Shadow.
This one's very cool. Really like the idea of bringing _Forces_ levels to _P-06,_ just so long as you don't also have Tails cowering on the floor and going "SONIC, HELP MEEEEEE. 😭 " whenever you try to select him!
I have no idea what the writers were thinking with that shit. Tails was already not so good in Colors and Lost World. But Forces just really wanted to finish off the character. Thank god Frontiers exists and we’re getting FREE PLAYABLE Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.

Weirdly enough this would make much more sense from a story perspective. If Eggman has taken over the world and has a tyrannical control over everything, of course Sonic, Silver and Shadow are gonna be working together! They're the debatably the three strongest characters in the entire series. It never made sense to me why Shadow just vanished for no reason and why Silver was relegated to just standing around (excluding that part where he got destroyed by Infinite.)
My question is what happened to silver after 06? It's like they forgot about him after that game. Also let's really be honest. If sonic x lasted up until 2011 we would have DEFINITELY seen silver in the show. No question. Sonic x pretty much rapped up in like 07 or 08.
You know if SEGA really thought this through they could’ve made Silver a main. What I mean is Sonic and Shadow can’t hit infinite because the stone makes him faster ig and more powerful. Silver could be that character where he grabs infinite and let Sonic and shadow deliver the blow or take care of infinite while Sonic faces off with eggman and shadow faces off with a clone that’s not metal Sonic
The P-06 developer not only recreated a game engine that takes inspiration from Sonic 06 but also vastly improves upon it to the point that if you put levels from other games they still work and look great (of course the modders also have to work to make them look good).
This clearly shows how much of a difference GOOD CONTROLS makes. If Forces had good controls, but kept its level design (as short as they are sometimes) it actually would have made for a solid game. Now if they also tried with the level design, Forces would have been great. Yes even with shoe-horned classic sonic and a so-so story (it wasn’t outright a bad story). But if they actually nailed the controls, level design, and overall gameplay loop, then Forces would have been a really great game despite the other flaws that I just mentioned.

i mean i don't think that the 06 works for the current games but the idea that forces allowes you to play any level as a diferent character, meaby unlocking alternative routes, that's something that Sega could have implemented

I’m sorry guys idk what ur talking about but these levels still suck. They’re just so linear and offer nothing. But I will say I enjoy the idea of it switching from sonic during the linear/boost parts to shadow for the combat. That’s a very neat and appreciated touch and works WAY more than it did in forces and makes the levels a bit better. Still just the levels in general are so uninspired
