Then there's that one murderer who's completely off topic from the debate but you relate to him/her so much for their airheadness.

In addition to everything that everyone else already brought up - the perfect use of colour, framing, fonts, “quirky” archaic references, etc. - the music was also fantastic. Perfect juxtaposition of symphonic classical, indie folk, and kitschy 1950s pop. Truly, one of the best parodies of Anderson I have ever seen; and perhaps, even, one of SNL’s finest shorts. Agreed! I quite recently became a fan of his work due to my recent interest in Owen Wilson, which is is due to my interest in the character he played, Mobius, in the Marvel series Loki. Wes Anderson makes some pretty interesting films and it's amazing how different and unique they are to those made by other directors. I wish I had found out about him sooner.
What's funny is a real Wes Anderson horror movie would probably be actually terrifying due to the unnatural way people act and the way the camera is used. It would probably be very unsettling
3 years later and this is still 10/10. Can directors host SNL? Would be hilarious if Wes Anderson (g)hosted. You never see him except for the opening monologue, and he directs all of the skits. Each one features one or more of his frequent fliers along with the SNL cast.
Honestly? Bringing on host directors that direct the skits and bring along frequent flier guest actors just sounds like a pretty awesome way to spice up SNLs formula generally. Couldn't be all the time, but you just know that it'd be a headline grabber.

3 years later and this is still 10/10. Can directors host SNL? Would be hilarious if Wes Anderson (g)hosted. You never see him except for the opening monologue, and he directs all of the skits. Each one features one or more of his frequent fliers along with the SNL cast.
With a stop-motion sketch about a current event...
Honestly? Bringing on host directors that direct the skits and bring along frequent flier guest actors just sounds like a pretty awesome way to spice up SNLs formula generally.
Couldn't be all the time, but you just know that it'd be a headline grabber.

I don't remember if subconsciously I was thinking back to this skit or came up with it organically in the moment, but as soon as I watched the trailer for his new film, The French Dispatch, I literally said without any irony "You had me at Wes Anderson."
