This episode really was a trip when it first came out. How fitting that the Riddler is the one who truly poses the biggest threat in a virtual reality scenario. And how fitting that he would wind up being the victim of his own demise. He really is the egotist.
This is my favorite version of Riddler as well!! The voice, the personality, the suit, the figure, the riddles, the puzzles, the motivation, the backstory, it's all perfect!!!!
The Riddler in BTAS is voiced by John Glover, an actor who is a veteran of many DC films and shows, mostly as the father of evil geniuses. He was Lex Luthor’s father in Smallville and Dr. Sivana’s father in Shazam!.
@@lithiumgreen105 Yup, he also played the mad scientist who created Bane and Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin. I feel like he loves DC's world and characters as much as we all do!
Absolutely. John Glover did a fantastic job! I really wish we were able to get a new BTAS series with a few seasons before Conroy had passed. Even though Caped Crusader was good it was nowhere near the genius this series was. I think it was missing the action and the writing wasn’t as solid. Voice cast was just ok. BTAS, SUPERMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, JUSTICE LEAGUE AND UNLIMITED WERE ALL CAST SUPERBLY. Thanks to Andrea Romano for that.
This version of Riddler is my favorite too. When you find the time, could you consider reacting the episode "His Silicon Soul", it is kind of a sequel to the Heart of Steel two parter you reacted earlier.
Yep, that’s a good follow-up episode. 👍🏻 The other remaining season 1 episodes Meg should react to: “The Laughing Fish” “Robin’s Reckoning 1 & 2” “Birds of a Feather” “Zatanna” “The Man Who Killed Batman” “Mudslide” “The Demon’s Quest 1 & 2” “Harley and Ivy” “Shadow of the Bat 1 & 2” “Read My Lips”
You really need to watch the documentary called Batman: The Animated Series - the heart of Batman. Artists, writers, producers, directors and voice actors talk about their experience on the series. You will learn so much behind the scenes stories
This is the best version of the Riddler imo. This is my least watched Riddler Episode, but it’s still spectacular nonetheless. Riddler is just so cool, and I hope after The Batman with Robert Pattinson that riddler is no longer considered a joke.
I was always like “the riddler and VR, how does that match up??? How does he know anything about computers??” BUT THEN I realized that in his btas origin story he is fired from a COMPUTER COMPANY!! That’s how he knows about tech and computers!!!!
The Riddler has always been one of my favorite villains growing up. He's always been about style and intelligence. And always usually had a great sense of clothing. But the Batman movie with Paul Dino just plays him like a psychopath with the dress sense of a street criminal and a ridiculous mask.
You are reacting to my favorite show of all-time! Not even just animated.. just TV Show period. What an awesome vid! I see this was a year ago and I’ll see what else you have, but if you haven’t done most or all of the episodes do more! Hopefully you did some TNBA (The New Batman Adventures) season as well. Superman The Animated Series and both Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited are must watch ones too!
13:03 like the Virtual Boy If you don’t know it’s a video game console basically Nintendos early attempt at Virtual Reality it was a failure however not many games came out for it it was like goggles you looked into to play the game but the screen was in red and black so looking at it for long periods of time can give you a headache idk if that console is why the color pallete is so red in this episode but it’s an interesting considering it did come out around that time
There’s a Batman for everyone but i love when Batman gets scared, gets punched, has to actively work with others. He’s human and it shows Monotone, all knowing, super genius Batman is boring This Batman imo is truly Batman. A human who despite fear fights crime. Not a robotic all knowing detective
The worst is the Batman that does stuff like "I knew you'd get cocky and inhale this poisonous gas I shoot out instead of doing anything else to get rid of the smoke. So I let you beat the crap out of me including breaking my ribs to get you to that point" I call him "Fan Batman". He gets out of a scrape cause the fans are like "He can beat ANYONE cause he's THAT smart and amazing", the writers play into that
It’s red because the only popular functional VR Headset was the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Known for its overwhelmingly red tint.
Yep. Was searching for this answer in the comments!

And you MUST react to “The Laughing Fish.” You probably already know why 😄
I have no idea why but yes I will!!
In a mental world, his powerful mind is lethal... but Bats' is stronger.
Absolutely love this version of Riddler!
I like how Batman's ultimate plan was simple Make Riddler use up all the RAM

This is my favorite Riddler episode, with his origin episode second. 😁

Not sure if you already know this but The Riddler is voiced by John Glover, a longtime friend of Kevin Conroy
Also Lionel Luthor from Smallville
And billionaire Daniel Clamp in Gremlins 2
He also played an alien in a Twilight Zone episode, the 1980s revival.
also played Brice Cummings in Scrooged.
I would say that the geek thing and more like to games Robin would be Tim, but every Robin liked playing in the Bat computer
This episode just cemented the fact that Riddler LOVES bombs, or at least the ticking of bombs

This world and the Minotaur's Maze were in the SNES Batman and Robin game.
They got Glover, the DILF himself to be the best Batman villain

He''ll be back in season 3
The color palette seemed like a reference to the original TRON
That one cop looks like Cosgrove from freakazoid
