This is how I knit as well! I find that it's faster than the "normal" throwing method! I tension my yarn on my ring finger - I have no idea why, but it works! Thanks for the video. :)
Thanks for this video! This is how I knit too but for some reason my purls always have some extra slack and I can’t figure out how to fix it without pulling my working yard forward after purling. It’s really annoying because it takes extra time.
I love watching to see how different knitters hold their yarn. I can’t wrap my yarn around any of my fingers. When I do I find that I hold it too tight and my tension is just too tight as well! I haven’t tried wrapping it like you around my index finger…I think I will though. I typically hold it loosely in my hand and between my index and “birdie” and basically flick it around the needle. And I’m a righty like you. But even when I crochet and hold my yarn with my left hand, I still can’t wrap it bc of the same thing. Guess my fingers are just too strong! Lol! 🤷🏻♀️ it works for me!
+LittleLambsCrochet If it helps me to explain ... To tension the yarn on my right hand, I first drape the yarn over my ring finger, then under my middle finger, then wrap the yarn twice around my pointer finger.
I loved this video. So interesting to see people's technique.

Thank you for showing this. I'm a "thrower" so I need to try this way... Looks much faster
Me too! that is almost exactly how I knit. Power to the flickers!
This is how I knit, too -- I even tension the same way. I find it's the most comfortable style for my wrists.
you work the same way as I do ; ) except we tension the yarn slightly differently. it's so speedy this way!

Hi Kristin thanks for the great video. Can you show how you hold and tension your yarn on the next podcast. You are so fast!
+LittleLambsCrochet Thanks! And absolutely! :)

Thank you Kristin. I will practice this. I hope you and Dennis had a wonderful Thanksgiving:)
I enjoy watching how different people make the same stitch- thanks for this video- what colorway yarn is that?
+yarnjunkie The yarn is Gynx Yarns, Merino Worsted in "Fantasy" :)
Same as me too . Tho I also tension differently on the middle finger
Same, here!
I wish I could knit like this. I have tried so many times but I can't get the yarn to go high up enough to flick around the needles.
Are those rosewood needles? By the way Happy Thanksgiving!!
+Samantha Maroney Hi Samantha! They are actually Knitter's Pride Dreamz US 8. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
🧶❤️👏👏👏😍😘👍🥰
