I almost grabbed my popping cork set up this morning but decided to just try my "Only" Paul Brown Fattie" and I limited out on 20"+ Spec's in 10min!
Fishing the Texas Coast, Jetties Freeport, TX. I had folks all around me catching Trash Fish & I was catching huge Spec's on every cast..
A giant 28"+ came up & grabbed that Paul Brown & snapped my line at the knot! I was mad but already had my limit.
It was definitely my PB if I'd a got him in. I caught a 26" in same spot many years ago. They were smoking the Slam Shady's Paddle Tails also but so were the Lady Fish. Tight lines baby 🤟

Are there any shots of the popping cork in action? I only see you winding the fish in. I've never seen a popping cork in action so would like to see how you use it

Matt, that TFO rod and Daiwa reel look like a great setup, although I’d personally prefer a lightweight extra heavy 7 ft rod with a moderate tip paired with a Stradic.

Do you find the long butt length of TFO In TAC to get in the way when you’re wearing a PFD? I’m deciding between this rod and the TFO professional. I’m just getting into kayak fishing in some suggest a ride with a shorter butt length.

I consider the popping a cork a trout killer.
Many times ive been at piers popping my cork just to see someone with a regular float trying to imitate the pop of a popping cork.
Its a must have in the back pack

I have several TFO rods and they are legit, but I alo own several Kistler custom rods that out perfom anything on the market including g loomis rods, bit if you wanting to spend the money on the TFO which is made in China I'd look at Kistler and Gary loomis Edge rods first it may save ya a trophy and a home brand!

Nice info man I went fishing this past Saturday and I used a popping cork and I caught 2 specks a 17 in and 15, but man I should of had more it was getting nailed a lot ,and I was not setting the hook. I was like why I’m I not setting hook? I’m I doing something wrong? So I think my rod is a medium moderate

@@juniorrobinson1662 I have a wall with about 50 rods to use in rotation. 😆 Name one of the popular rods and I can tell you that I have more than likely tried it. I enjoy using all of my rods for different reasons and different applications. Conditions, area I'm targeting, the bait, the hook style (weedless or jighead),
Do you have a favorite that you like, my man?

Love Matt, but SS seems getting pretty “salesmanish” lately. I maybe wrong. Personally being on a tight budget I’ve been putting off joining, which I know is probably not very smart. Yet when you’re a caretaker of a parent, you don’t always get what ya want. Soon though I hope. Sorry if I was a bit negative, still working on my first cup of Joe. No diamonds though!
