@@ninaschofield I'm a huge fan of the 80's vibes The Weekend has been putting into his latest music (Synthwave, saxaphone, etc.) Dua Lipa has been doing some music in that vein as well, I'd love to hear Ariana do more music in that vein.

I love how he let her have her moment the minute she came out usually when he performs the original he goes crazy vocally towards the end but he knew this was her moment her fans have not seen her perform in a while

To me Abel and Ariana are the two most reliably amazing singers of this generation. This was perfection.
I remember the rehearsal footage of Ari and Abel back in 2014 when it seemed like they were getting on each others nerves a bit. They have come so far and have become really good friends as well as fellow superstars. So nice to see them shining together again

Abel essentially turned himself into a hype man when Ariana started singing even though he himself could have stolen the spotlight but he knew a lot of her fans also were there so he let her have her moment

Especially with the call/response, he's providing structure and she's dancing inside it. But it's true of most of the duet section. Great way to show off her tremendous range and riffing/filling ability.

Nice analysis. I have heard many different coaches so far. Ariana's approach to oscillate between a chest voice (darker tone) and her head voice (smoother, brighter) was greattly commented by you. I have to say that not many coaches were giving the right weight to that characteristic - but you did. We have to assume that Ariana is small and it's not natural to have a chest voice for her. She may have worked really hard to develop that. She stole the stage.
