    One of my favorite BTS studio lighting setup videos. I love the diagrams and the setting details. Please continue. Please show even more of your photo results they are amazing. Needed content for new and professional photographers alike. This is in my morning refreshing watch playlist just to start my day creatively. 🙏🏽

    This great I have similar kit, realistically speaking not many people have a 6x4 soft box or the space to use it. Thank you for the video I never used my soft box with that lighting setup before.

    • @dancastano
      @dancastano  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally! The 6x4 is so big, so I only get to use it when I'm in the studio. When I'm in a smaller space, I'd use my large umbrella with diffuser instead :)

    • @dancastano
      @dancastano  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hey Gustavo, thanks so glad you like my work.
      I placed 2 polyboards on either side of the light and used no diffuser, so just a bare light head. The polyboards helped control and focus the spread of light, and by not using a diffuser I was able to get a stronger or more direct quality of light. Hope that helps :)

    Confused about the D1 on the background but pointing upwards (1st setup) Then, in the 2nd setup, the background has plenty of light on it, despite the light being flagged and subject at a distance from the background.

    • @dancastano
      @dancastano  ปีที่แล้ว

      The studio has sheer panels on the roof so gets a lot of natural light, so when the sun is out and coming through it's much stronger, so sometimes I use more of the natural/ambient light. When it's cloudy or overcast though, it's obviously darker so sometimes need a light. In this setup though I was not trying to replicate the background and was happy for it be different looking between the two looks.

      Hey Fidelio, I explain how I achieved this in the second part of the video from time: 5:03.
      It's a strobe light (with no light modifier), shot directly toward the model at a downward 45 degree angle. Give it a try :)

    Do you use one or two speedlights directed to the background? Because the background has the same brightness in every corner but it's strange if the light source is placed just from the one side!

    • @dancastano
      @dancastano  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just used the one, as the cyc is really large and also there is a lot of natural light in the studio too from the ceiling, which has skylights
