  • This fire truck suction line is was poorly connected with a rubber hose. It was repaired by adding two pipe unions and making miter cuts and welds.

That was definitely a mess before you started. That's a rather complicated repair to get right, & you made it look easy- Great job!

Slick pipe job. Most definitely better than the hose clamp setup.

Seeing that offset in the pipe reminded me of a story that my great grandfather told me years ago.
Seems there were these two brothers Otis and Virgil, they were bridge builders and in 1872 they both bid to build a bridge across the Hogenpass River in upstate East Westerville. Otis started on the north bank and Virgil started on the south bank and well you can guess what happened. The bridge became the Jogenpass bridge on the Hogenpass River.
In 1911 Charles Gates founded the Gates Corporation and in 1921 he and his wife took a trip to East Westerville to visit some friends. When they crossed over the Hogenpass river and saw the Jogenpass bridge. It gave Charles the idea for the Gates 36094 offset rubber union. It's very rare and you don't see to many of them any more.
Great job on the jogenpass union for the fire truck .

Great work! If your're looking to grow your channel more, I might suggest waiting a couple days inbetween posting videos to try to even out the TH-cam algorithm. Love the content though! It's alway fun to run some downhill pipe!

When you are threading pipe the pipe dies can be adjusted. Typically it's a good idea to thread on an elbow and aim for 3 1/2 turns or less by hand and adjust the die accordingly. I would say those threads were cut poorly or they were worn out. Sometimes you can get away with it by wrapping it with thread tape, but it looks like those threads are pretty bad. Either way you did a good job for what you had to work with as always!
