Mel Smith is the insanitary 'hotel' owner (6:24), Robbie Coltrane the guest in the bathroom (7:23), Maureen Lipman is the guest in the bedroom (8:08), Ballard Berkeley (probably best known to Americans as the Major in Fawlty Towers) the other driver in the road accident (9:22) and Eric Idle the cyclist (9:58).
omg when I used to watch this movie as a kid the kissing part never even registered with me, its hilarious because the host of Family Feud actually used to kiss each female contestant on the lips!
"There it is, kids. My motherland." "Dad, Grandma's from Chicago." "Shut up, Russ." Fun Fact: The closing credits include a picture of a dog with a gun held to its head. It's from the famous cover of the January 1973 issue of National Lampoon Magazine. First Selfie Fact: When Clark (Chevy Chase) has a spat with the rest of the family and is seeing the sights alone, he takes a selfie, making this the first movie to show someone taking a selfie. Contrary to popular belief, it is not Thelma & Louise (1991). Different Children Fact: Because Anthony Michael Hall declined to reprise his role as Rusty (he decided to make Weird Science (1985) instead), the producers decided to re-cast both children. Thus, Dana Barron was not asked to reprise her role as Audrey as well. Monty Python Vacation Fact: Eric Idle and Chevy Chase became friends after filming. Shortly after the release of this movie, Idle and Chase began work on a screenplay for a follow-up called National Lampoon's Australian Vacation. Aside from a few shark-related gags, neither could come up with much and the project was abandoned.
LOL that German dinner scene has stuck with me for decades. I've been to some pretty fancy German restaurants, but never have I been served a meal that looked as good as the one shown here.
Dana Hill, who played Audrey in this movie, died very early in her life. I'm thinking it was from diabetes but I'm probably wrong. Someone let me know. I'm too lazy to google it. But I had seen her in a few movies back in the 80's when she was younger. Then this movie came out and she just killed it! She was so funny in this! RIP Dana!
Hahah I really love this movie! Though yeah its wild that the kids keep changing every movie. Rusty looks like the older brother now but in past movies he was the younger brother. Still one of my favorite comedies! You're gonna love Vegas Vacation though! Do no, I repeat, do NOT watch Christmas Vacation 2. It was just a cheap cash grab movie, so poorly made and just not worth watching at all.
My favorite scene is when Rusty is about to get some just as Clark gets into the fight in the German beer garden. She's a hottie! My list: 1. Christmas 2. Vacation 3. European 4. Last Wages

4. Vegas Vacation (1997)
5. Hotel Hell Vacation (2010)
6. Vacation (2015)
The movie is filled with famous British actors of the era. For example, the guy who walks in on Elllen’s bath is Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid).
Of the era? They were famous in the 60s, 70s, 80s and some into the 90s. Spanned generations and bridged eras
@@DeathbySkullfxxx it really is amazing the tiniest of things some people get bent out of shape about.
Im bent? Lmao Ok
Really amazing what tone people automatically apply to others words in text form lol

I think this was the first movie I saw as a kid where there was straight up frontal nudity. It quickly became my most watched VHS tape LOL.
Same 🤣
omg when I used to watch this movie as a kid the kissing part never even registered with me, its hilarious because the host of Family Feud actually used to kiss each female contestant on the lips!
Yeah, the host's name was Richard Dawson. He was always practically making out with the female contestants.
"There it is, kids. My motherland."
"Dad, Grandma's from Chicago."
"Shut up, Russ."

Wasn’t the actor for rusty Anthony Michael Hall in the breakfast club as well in 1985 that was another reason he couldn’t come back.
One of my all-time favourites, and my favourite Vacation movie!😍
European is actually my favorite with Christmas in second.
LOL that German dinner scene has stuck with me for decades. I've been to some pretty fancy German restaurants, but never have I been served a meal that looked as good as the one shown here.
The german meal Rusty was about to eat looked fantastic.

Yeah, she died from diabetes, sadly.
I’ve always loved the end credits. It’s like a slice of 80s Americana.
Surprised you didn't notice her boyfriend was William Zabka aka Johnny Lawrence
The guy at the front desk said something about whitechappal which is the road we’re the famous Jack the Ripper murders took place
You still have Vegas Vacation to go
This movie is cute, but I don't think it has as much heart as the first and third ones.
Of all the vacation movies I think this my least favorite. Please watch them all bc they really are funny. Vegas and Christmas were my favorites ❤
10:50 Best part of the whole movie! 😅😂🤣😅😂🤣
Hope to see you check out Vegas Vacation! Definitely not my favorite but then again neither is this one but it still has some great moments!
Oh yeah. The gags that hit, in that one, definitely hit hard.
@@jean-paulaudette9246 glad you agree! I still think of that damn dam.
All the movies have their moments.
This one is the weakest. Vegas Vacation I loved.
This is easily my favorite of the Vacation movies.

6:07 - have either of you seen "Sounds of Music"?
the stranger guy in the bathroom was played by Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid from the Harry Potter films)
They got Johnny Lawrence in this. 😆 And the guy who plays Rusty was the lead in Night of the Creeps.
National Lampoons Vacation good movies
Great reaction! 👍🏿
Every vacation movie someone is kidnapped
Yes. In the 80s we had colored toilet paper. I believe they stopped because the dyes were bad for the water supply.
Also Clark was dreaming of the sounds of music but grizzwold version
Oink oink my good man. I’ve always liked this one, but I know a lot of people dismiss it among the Vacation movies.
Agree
The only Griswolds movie I've watched
Vegas Vacation is next
yall should watch 3 Amigos!
My favorite scene is when Rusty is about to get some just as Clark gets into the fight in the German beer garden. She's a hottie!
My list:
1. Christmas
2. Vacation
3. European
4. Last Wages
Finally!!!
England English is the actual proper English before America broke off
Watch the Butler
Watch the Marvel
Could you show the new vacation reaction on TH-cam Or did you not use video
Friday
Watch Smallville
Guy I'm talking to name Rusty can't wait till he becomes my boyfriend ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
✌️🌎❤️
Love your reaction but way too much use of the F,Word. Excellent movie. Though
Don't bother with Christmas Vacation 2. It is awful.
Noti
Gang
The movie was so lame they threw out a lot of pity laugh
All the other sequels are not good sequels, including the terrible one that you liked.
