For all the 'small-minded" complainers out there, the translator actually did a commendable job. He was actually very accurate in his interpretations. I am an American now living in Japan, and studied the Japanese language beginning in secondary school through university. Let me be blunt, anyone who cannot engage in conversational Japanese should just keep their mouths shut, instead of showing their prejudices, stupidity, etc.
Yes I totally agree with you😊
This was the best debut I’ve ever seen ⚾️⚾️🍀
It was pretty impressive, even if it was just a preseason game.
My favorite debut was definitely Puig 🙌
Ohtani said it was so-so.
Look at his eyes, that's someone that won't disappear come playoff time
Like Kershaw and Darvish. We have our ace.
Kershaw put in plenty of work and brought us plenty of wins - he's just old asf and on the tail end of his career.
@@kenosabi he did, and was MVP during regular season but when the lights were brightest just couldn’t deliver the win, same as Darvish. Legendary pitchers nonetheless
Another humble athlete
Nothing against Sonoda san, but think of how awesome Ippei is, whose natural and flowing interpretation skill is soothing and even artistic.
Ippei came to LA when he was 6, and attended schools and graduated from the university in LA.
Sonopi is doing fine and he is getting better.
Ippei never does direct translation but he gets the message through at a very good tempo.
@@elk9320not sure about fine but hopefully sonoda will get better
@@vamosnipponCertainly not direct, but I feel it’s rather parallel, what Sho might say if he was to say in English. They spend so much time together, I bet Ippei can feel Shohei’s nerves. :-)
Well this comment aged poorly
Nothing wrong with the interpreting. The comments are just haters.
That translator is off by good amount lol.
YAMAMANIA! YAMAMANIA!
Give it time for the translator.. we want to hear some personality translated so give them time to gel
He really said! Yo son! Let’s represent and get this!
yoshinobu is great attitude! just like shohei style! Yoshinobu will be americanized soon!
He a new translator so he is getting use to reporters ,give the man a break.
Love that Yamamoto chose Dodgers.
It was Shohei Ohtani who was a factor in that decision, but Yamamoto himself claimed that “Even if Ohtani signed elsewhere, he would still choose the Dodgers”.
YAMAMANIA
Yamamania!!
Damn I miss Vinny!

Yamamania is real

Whats up with the comment bots? 🤨
Odd comments about Sono san his interpreter. Watch the chicken wing contest which sono san won and his speech
Rude haters who are negative about anyone not American. Ippei has been married to a former cheerleader since 2018. Tells how much some dont know anything relevant
Shohei Ohtani helped sell Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the Dodgers.
is this couple gonna get married after Shohiel and his translator too?
All of these questions were lame! Predictable boring questions! Come on now Press. What's the point?
As an American who has spent 5+ years in Japan .. I can PROMISE you, this guy wants to be in JAPAN.
He's having a hard time getting used to LA
He’s in Arizona dummy
Need better interpreter....
Yup, needs a better interpreter.😢
Ippei is a better
