As someone who is taking a year off of college due to some unforeseen personal circumstances, this was the most relatable and helpful video I’ve seen about the college experience for a Pre-med so far. Thank you for everything.
I’d like to add the importance of making sincere and memorable connections/impacts in your classes/ECs so that you can ask for ROBUST LORs when the time comes. LORs have the potential to make or break an application. Play those cards right, my people.
Does volunteering in a hospital and interacting with patients count as clinical experience because you are interacting with patients? Also in these COVID time how can I get the clinical experience? ( I am going into my freshman year of undergrad rn and I just want to plan ahead)
Do medical schools like to see a variety of clinical experience/shadowing? I’ve been working at a pediatric clinic for 3 years now and was wondering if it’s enough clinical experience or if I should look to volunteer/shadow at more places?
Nope you’re fine. Try to get some variety with shadowing but for clinical experience that’s perfectly fine. I have 6 years of 911 EMS for my clinical experience and don’t plan on doing anything else clinical. Most applicants just have one experience like scribing anyway
Hi Dr. Gray I currently an RN and only recently decided that i want to become a physician. I only have my associate degree so far and have a low gpa right now. My question for you is after I am finished getting my bachelor's degree would you recommend a post bac or an NP program then post bac?
Hello! I have an upward trend [2.6] 1st bachelors ....[3.1] 2nd bachelor's (all science) [3.5] master's in biotech (all science). Is that a good enough upward trend or should I take more undergrad science classes? I plan on applying this cycle, I have started my application already but I am beginning to doubt myself.
@volio238 I came to Mexico for med school, at UAG. I applied once in the states and didn't get in. I was told my GPA was too low so I didn't want to waste more time. The way AMCAS calculates grades made my GPA lower than it was reflected on my transcripts because they average the 2 grades if you retook a class.

Some of the classes I took were not considered science classes according to them so that also didn't look great either.
@Mark-iu1zc also master's classes are in a separate category so it doesn't increase your undergrad GPA. Those masters that claim to boost your GPA for med school are scams. Many counselors told me it looks more like extracurricular than it does academically. So it was a waste basically for me to do it. The only thing it kinda helps with is getting a lab job
I am Physcians Assistant School Student. I would like to send my transcripts to you and get evaluated. I did apply last year for one school and it declined my application. When I asked them how to improve my application they told me that do well on Casper test. I want to improve my application and so well on casper test. How should I get help ? Please help me out!
if you REALLY wanna be a doctor and dot get accepted multiple times, just go to Caribbean and be the best you can. I know some Doctors who are neurologists through that avenue
your channel is literally the holy grail for pre-meds and everyone should know about it!!! Thank you for all you do

Thank you ❤️ decided that medicine was going to be my career last year, so this was very helpful.
You’re welcome
Thank you so much for what you do. I'm currently on a physical therapy track and this has helped so much. Thank you again.
This is amazing information and thank you Dr. Gray!
Thank you so much Dr Gray, very useful information!!!
Great vlog. I think you said “you don’t need all your prereq’s done before applying”. Is this really true? If yes, this is a revelation to me!

LORs have the potential to make or break an application.

Again, I’m preVet but this is really helpful. Thanks much!
Thank You! Nice Video
Would you recommend applying early with GPA 3.5 and good MCAT or wait take more classes and try bringing the GPA to at least 3.6 ? Thank you
that small difference isn't going to make a huge difference in your application as long as there is a good upward trend!
what was your good MCAT score? Just curious. And did you get accepted?
Nice video. Are there fee for service organizations that can substantively help with secondary essays?
Thanks Dr. Gray
you're welcome!

According to the Accomas yes

Diversify your experiences whether it’s shadowing, jobs, or volunteer. Just looks better and gives you more to talk about on your interview day

Well my prereqs are almost 30yrs old!! and I don't know where to start.
Get new ones! That’s what I gotta do as an much older pre med

Do you have any advice on shadowing if you’re going into Psychiatry? Having a hard time finding a place or psychiatrist that does it.
How is the application process for international student

If I'm taking my MCAT in August, should I submit my primaries early still? Or wait til I get my MCAT score back in September and submit it then?
The latest we recommend to take the MCAT to apply this cycle is June 30. -M
