She prepared holistically-- from her walk, her body training to tone her body, her makeup, her red finals gown that she envisioned and was put into work by Mak Tumang--her designer, her communication and q&a skills, her whole wardrobe prior to the finals night which showed a lot of Filipino cultural representation, her earcuffs, even when she was informed that Ne-yo will be performing, she practiced walking to his songs that's why in the final 3 walk, she's the only one walking on beat. I'd say she is easily the most prepared candidate the Philippines has sent, and quite frankly, the most prepared Miss Universe. She even has her advocacy laid out and has been working for charity already even before she won Miss Philippines. From the moment she stepped on Thailand, it was clear that she was the one to beat. It's like she just went there not to compete, but to claim her crown! (Sorry for the rant lol I just want people to know that part of the success is the process 'cause most people only care for the results)

As a COLOMBIAN, I must admit that i was so so happy for CAT's Victory. Being objective, since she gave the first step AND put her feet on thai's ground, she was the one to beat. Beautiful outside, charisma, so eloquent and Smart and also, a beautiful soul. I think there will be Many Many years until a new CATRIONA come up. Congrats filipinos for your deserving win!!!

Ms Universe is some kind of a national "holiday" in the Philippines. It's HUGE. I remember in the office, everything will stop. Even the bosses will be glued to the television.

Yong iba kasi di tinitignan ang root of her answer it was based on the country where steve asked her, if that case will be more tolerable will the answer are too exact and precisely correct and no doubt she is the winner.
Mahirap kasi talaga yung tanong, especially as a Pinoy na bawal talaga ang marijuana and di pa masyadong naeexplore sa research.

The judges are very biased and the former miss universe, miss south africa, wasn't even happy to give the crown to mexico. Miss universe today is very rigged and money wise.

What made her powerful, even through watching her from the screen, is that she doesn't wish for the crown. She enjoys and gives her best for each portion she gets into. No stress, just content with whatever is given, but at the same time feeling it, giving your best to it. That's the beauty of not always being the winner in life. It humbles you. It gives you content and the confidence that even if you lose, you won't regret a thing because it has happened to you a lot in life and that you've learned to anticipate it with such genuine positivity. So she wasn't scared of not being the winner, she made every moment memorable to her, savouring it, as if it's her last, enjoying every walk, every smile, every eye contact, every answer, everything.
Plus, that passion for children, her creativity, is what added so much spice to her that no one. NO ONE can ever compare.
Actually, she wasn't trying to be Miss Universe, Miss Universe was trying to be her. She is just amazing in so so soooo many ways.
It has been 4 years and I still watch this up to this day and a lot of people as well for sure. That is a testament of how iconic she was and that her performance is still unmatched until this very day.

Her final answer sealed the deal for her to bring home the crown. She’s so spontaneous and very real in her answer. You can really see her edge among the other contestants. Her confidence on stage was just superb. Who would have thought that another crown will added after Pia? We are not like USA, Venezuela and Colombia that seem so automatic to be on top. It really comes with right preparation and God’s plan for everything.
