Yeah I started on hard then I decided to play through on medium then hard just because hard is so punishing in this game and a second playthrough is welcome because it's so insanely fun and I should be pretty sewn up by then from playing it on normal I'm ready to go for the hard basically suicide run 🤣
@ mate that's not the parallel theyre drawing, that's like saying well theyre both fictional so duh, like theres more similarity than just the fact theyre both cyberpunk, i really see the similarity thematically and visually, the term vibe means more than just setting, watch akira and come back you might get it, the harsh lighting, animalistic gangs, the feeling that the higher powers have you overlooked, or that they are pretending they havent created a monster. the game itself might not be as good but the akira like "vibe" is really nailed and i respect that about the game

with the cyberpunk aesthetic, RPG-like elements, more open level design, and things like health-bar, energy-bar, dashing and so on this game still gets its own identity which is not hotline miami. this is good, because if we did have to compare it to hotline miami ruiner would find its metal pipe cracking its skull on a magenta-colored kitchen-floor before it could get half a dash out.

I have played through the first two fighting levels and explored the city area and so far this game is awesome. The fighting in this game is fun as hell especially using melee even the shooting is really fun. There's alot of action, and there are some interesting side quests that actually seem to fit within the story, and the story is somewhat limited but seems cool so far. The skills are very interesting, and they really do help out in fighting in different ways. I can't wait to see what the other levels in this game are like and how they look, because I think that the first two levels were really different from each other. As said this game is awesome, and I really like the cyberpunk feel to it. If you like action games I would say get it.
Did you actually finish it? Because as you said the first two level were cool and all but didn't you also experience some heavy feeling of boredom after a while? EVERY single level looks, feels and basically is the same. I was super dissapointed to be honest...

Just finished the game. It is amazing. But I had to downgrade the difficulty from normal to easy, because i got stuck on a boss by the middle of the game. Well, besides being hard as hell, I really strongly recommend this game!

I know I am answering that super late... but I finished the game in less than 2 hours in hard. Playing mostly melee, because you can abuse the Invincibility frame while dashing and basically, you spam mouse left with mouse right just fast enough not to be out of dashes, and you *ruin* the game :)
a crocodile eh, tbh even on hard it was still very button mashy, just keep dashing and shooting and you're set... which sucks because, just like in Deus Ex Mankind Divided, once you upgrade the few basic abilities you have since the beginning (dashing, ruiner and maybe the shield) there's really no incentive to use the others... I did enjoy the game though, great soundtrack
I finished it last night, i liked it a lot, I only had an issue with a few things I'd like to bring up: - inconsistent difficulty spikes, some enemies were tougher to beat than the bosses themselves, and while the bosses are really fun to fight because they all had a strategy you had to use, the minibosses and regular foes felt like I was playing a game of poker rather than a using strategy (And the hitbox on some enemy attacks are ridiculous). - choice is non existent when it comes to upgrades, maybe you can finish the game without using the healing power, or you don't need to upgrade your weapon handling, but even then I never felt as though I had much of a choice in the matter, the shield was a necessity for certain sections of the game, slowmo was real bloody useful to me at least and giving yourself more health and energy for your abilities is a necessity. - a smaller issue came in the form of the level selection menu, while you definitely can play the levels again, there is no way to select the period at which you come back to 'hub' (not really a hub but you get the idea) so I'm stuck with going back to it when I'm about to go off the city for the last time. - As stated in the video I find the idea of a dodge not giving you some invincibility frames an odd design choice, but hey it forces you to position yourself better to avoid that damage... if enemies didn't suddenly get aimbot and almost one shot me at times maybe it would make more sense. - Also as stated in the video, it's sad you have to waltz through the levels like a hamster on coffee, even if they lack variety, but hey this is a cyberpunk game, we shouldn't expect some bright blues and greens from this style either. Perhaps a part of the game could have been played in the city itself for variety, but now we're stuck with dark labs and such. - My last issue is probably just a personal occurrence but the controls were a little unresponsive at times. There, these were the points I wanted to make for everyone who plans on trying the game. It is a good game, it's just held back from greatness by a few issues that could be ironed out in the future with patches.

rfactor2, Assetto Corsa, iracing, automobilista... 'Most realistic simulator' is certainly too simply put and quite probably just false. But I would still like to hear about it. I think I'm buying it when the price comes down, or if it's on sale.
Personally I like the concepts and the style, love the whole text on your helmet thing, some of the action quirks, I'm just not huge on top down shooters. I still might pick this one up, I do play games like this, just not very often, and this might be one I decide to play.
Really nice summary in this vid! I think this game could have a ton of analysis and discussion done over it... what went right, what could have been done better. There are a lot of people out there who may be looking for the next Hotline - this isn't it... but I think there's enough here to tide people over until something similar rolls out in the future.

I'm playing this and sword of the vagrant at the same time and oh my Lord such an addicting two games to be playing together. Both absolutely top-notch and I highly recommend that game
I'm terrible at video games because I can't think quickly, but I love playing them anyway because I see them as interactive pieces of art. This game looks so good, but I feel like the fast-paced, high difficulty gameplay would be more than I could handle. But like you said, it's not a full price game, so I might pick up a copy if it ever goes on sale.

So... I pre-ordered RUINER only because I saw "cyberpunk" tag! Because world haven't a lot games in future with ideas of cyberpunk. I chose hard level of difficulty, but it really HARD. I mean that on first boss you will suck and have only challenge, but not fun. On "normal" the game is cool. Gameplay is really iteristing with all the dashes and switching between pipe and guns. Skill tree is useble, because you can switch skill points between skills which you need even during fight. It was cool, it was challenge and I love it. RUINER will stay in my heart for a long time ^^ P.S. design and music have a special place
Ruiner was alright, a good and fun game. The only problems I have with it are the poor readability of the action and the environments as well as the responsivity of the player character that I wish was a bit better. That causes some unnecessary and frustrating deaths. But good game, I recommend it

Danganronpa V3 Killing Harmony, a visual novel game has been released yesterday (for PC port in first), and i'm glad if gameranx will be making a video too especially for Danganronpa fans.
I'm about 2 hours in on the second level and this game is fantastically made lovingly designed and it has so much fast paced holy shit did I just do that moments
I picked it up last night. I just found out that they had just patched the difficulty to make things a bit easier. Only got to play a little bit of it. I'm liking it! It reminds me of a neat mix between Hotline Miami (loved it and it's sequel) and the Crusader No Regret, and No Remorse, games from the 90's.
It's a nice new game, we need more quality cyberpunk games. I hope the System Shock Remaster brings in a new wave of these types of games. God knows that the original inspired a huge amount that's made insanely memorable games.
Very helpful! I happened to have a little extra after picking up Dead cells and I bumbled across this gem and wanted to make sure I was not wasting potential dlc cash, this is a much better use of time and money and a great way to get into the cyberpunk mood for 2077 Coming out next year
Just beat it, it's awesome. Steam with mouse and keyboard all the way. Played most of it melee with the infinity blade. And yeah the payoff is weak at the end. Still an awesome game, still worth every penny I spent on it.

Strangely enough, I hadn't heard of it before, but it went straight to my wishlist right after I watched the trailer on Steam today. I just won't play it right now bc I'm stuck with a potato pc and don't think it would run well, but seems like a lot of fun.
you don't use it to phase through bullets but to be way more mobile in combat & dodge everything there's an upgrade for the dash that makes you take 60% less damage while dashing anyway
It is kinda frustrating but I feel it adds a little more strategy.. planning yours dashes rather than spamming them.. but it'd be dope if they added an ability to get an unlimited, invulnerable dash & be able to upgrade that or something later on
I just finished the game and I loved it. I thought it was really cool but during the last few chapters I wish there was more dialog or something because you just feel alone kind of

I've only played one similar style game before not so long ago called Hatred which was quite a fresh game experience for me... But it got tiresome halfway through the second run. Lost Damned but i get orgasms from engine roars so its worth it
I doubt they know anything about simulators, but knowing if the gameplay is fun is still worth knowing...
The game is racing sim heaven on PC not so much on consoles due to various glitches iv'e heard. If you are PCMR buy it you will def not regret.

I picked it up last night. I just found out that they had just patched the difficulty to make things a bit easier. Only got to play a little bit of it. I'm liking it! It reminds me of a neat mix between Hotline Miami (loved it and it's sequel) and the Crusader No Regret, and No Remorse, games from the 90's.
It's a nice new game, we need more quality cyberpunk games. I hope the System Shock Remaster brings in a new wave of these types of games. God knows that the original inspired a huge amount that's made insanely memorable games.
Very helpful! I happened to have a little extra after picking up Dead cells and I bumbled across this gem and wanted to make sure I was not wasting potential dlc cash, this is a much better use of time and money and a great way to get into the cyberpunk mood for 2077 Coming out next year

Just beat it, it's awesome. Steam with mouse and keyboard all the way. Played most of it melee with the infinity blade. And yeah the payoff is weak at the end. Still an awesome game, still worth every penny I spent on it.

Strangely enough, I hadn't heard of it before, but it went straight to my wishlist right after I watched the trailer on Steam today. I just won't play it right now bc I'm stuck with a potato pc and don't think it would run well, but seems like a lot of fun.

Isnt dashing meant to make you avoid damage. Pretty dumb but the game still looks great and fun
more like dodging, i think it's a good idea.
you don't use it to phase through bullets but to be way more mobile in combat & dodge everything
there's an upgrade for the dash that makes you take 60% less damage while dashing anyway
It is kinda frustrating but I feel it adds a little more strategy.. planning yours dashes rather than spamming them.. but it'd be dope if they added an ability to get an unlimited, invulnerable dash & be able to upgrade that or something later on

I just finished the game and I loved it. I thought it was really cool but during the last few chapters I wish there was more dialog or something because you just feel alone kind of

I've only played one similar style game before not so long ago called Hatred which was quite a fresh game experience for me... But it got tiresome halfway through the second run. I've played this fir about as long and I just want more.
