- Air Canada is denying some passengers compensation for fights that have been delayed or cancelled due to staffing shortages. Shauna Hunt with why some industry experts say this violates federal rules.
What a brilliant idea, sell tens of thousands of tickets for imaginary planes then turn around and tell the customer "sorry , we don't have enough staff for those imaginary planes .. .... i's a "safety" issue"
Air Canada is an awful airline company. I purposely go out of my way to avoid flying with them.

Airline should be forced to pay compensation for any delay except weather. The compensation should start from $10,000 for each traveller if flight is delayed for any reason but weather.

Robbery after robbery! Myself bought tickets for me and my daughter this coming Christmas to fly to Tampa from Calgary, not knowing there are still mandates in us, when I call the airline to cancel my ticket to get credit or money back. They said it is base ticket you can't do anything. On their website when you purchase tickets there was no information or questions about restrictions in us. Only after you pay and want to check in, there are questions there. So I am stuck with tickets I can't do anything and can't fly. They also said they are not obligated to put questions or information about restrictions in other countries. So it is just perfect SCAM. Never again Air Canada! If I cancel ticket I can get $80 tax money, I pay $1800. Unbelievable ...
Any other country, this airline would be shut down!

This happened to my gf and I. Cancelled 3 of my flights (64 hours in delays) and gave me the exact same excuse. I have a file ready for small claims court. Take them to court people!
Could you take legal action against them? They delayed my flights for a total of more than 36 hours, then lied to me in my face that my baggage would be in my final destination several times and lost it. The worst airline experience ever!
@@AndresNostos Depending on the reason for your delays, you may be entitled to compensation. If they were all weather or maintenance related, you probably wouldn't get compensated, but if the delays were due to crew restraints than yes. Even if the restraints were caused by Covid.

Air Canada: the only Canadian company I'd love to see take a dirt nap. It's actually shameful they have the word Canada in it's name. Government should enforce its laws and if airlines don't play ball, heavily fine them and start impounding planes. But thanks to bureaucracy they wont do it.
