Paul Owns a great part of maiden's brightness! In every top 5 maiden records selection, both records, Killers and Iron Maiden are with honor. In every top 3 one of those will be too. God bless Paul Dianno
all of the "iron maiden" and 90% of "killers" songs were done between 1976 and 1979. the bootleg from cambridge spaceward studios (1978) features iron maiden, invasion, prowler, strange world, running free and transylvania. one of the first songs that were later completed and released on studio albums were transylvania and burning ambition, probably from early 1977.
the lyrics remind me of the song "Invaders" from the Number Of The Beast album. infact they are very similar, and some of the rifs are alike to the ones on Iron Maiden and Killers. I guess they used the song to make other songs...
hi there, the spaceward bootleg features demo takes of soundhouse tapes, which were recorded at the spaceward studios in 1978. as far as i know, the first live recording of maiden was in 1979 at music machine, london. that bootleg features mixed songs from the first and second albums (plus invasion and dave's solo).
Yeah man , come on I'm very curious to hear that ... bring it on ... I didn't get to see Maiden until late 79 and would love it to hear some earlier history
If anyone has seen "heavy: the story of metal part 2 british steel" There is a song in there that no one seems to know the name, if any one wants to take the time to watch and figure out what the song is ty. The song comes in with a black and white video preview before a commercial, there is some 20 people head banging. thats about the best description I can give.
i prefer Paul Di'anno over both bruce and blaze. with the vocalists before Paul they didn't get success but with Paul they became successful all over the world, not only in UK.
@skaterdouche4 Invaders is written so much better than Invasion. It is obvious that they took that song and decided to make it cool enough to put on an album. Just look at the lyrics! Huge improvement. Paul could never make the song sound as awesome as Bruce either.
Coitado do Paul Diano, era um rapaz de família...ai se envolveu com esse pessoal "da pesada" e aquilo deu "nilson"....más companhias crianças...evitem-nas!
Friend, punk was influenced by rockabilly and rock and roll, and Steve Harris too.... and Burning Ambition is a heavy/rock and roll song! not punk song !!!
R.I.P. Paul! You'll never be forgotten! Your voice was just perfect for those early years of metls most important band 🖤
Paul is pricelles in his own way...He was what the maidens needed in their first era!
Paul Owns a great part of maiden's brightness!

In every top 3 one of those will be too.
God bless Paul Dianno
In my top 2 records: Killers & Somewhere in time
@@danieldavis1949 Great choices mate!🤘
Even with the legendary bands like Iron Maiden , the early years are always the best and more special ones .
Little did they know they would become the greatest metal band of all time.

Really? That’s amazing! That’s some of their best stuff.
I LOVE that early “punk/metal” sound of the first two albums!

The legend that is Doug Sampson on drums!!!
The legend that is Clive Burr!!!
@@randywissler9923 Clive Joined in 79, after this recording.
He knows that, he just says that Clive was the real beast drummer not Doug...@@MrLtia1234
Nice! I never heard this version before. Or anything from The Soundhouse Tapes.

Blaze covers 5 years of Iron Maiden success
Bruce covers 2 centuries of Iron Maiden success
Pure Maiden, Pure Metal!

1:55 - 2.20 is what makes maiden one of the biggest bands ever existed :D
2.33 - 2.36 the best photo - love it. The 2nd best singer and 1st best bassguitarplayer
iron maiden é uma banda dos anos 80 e fim de papo
This resembles to The Ruts' "Dope for Guns" a lot.
man, why do u only see the main albums in stores, they shuold do a mega box set.
That's a long way before Rime of the ancient Mariner... In more ways than one 👍
man this is cooooool anyway I havent heard it before now so I don't know how it sounds nowadays UP THE FREAKIN IRONS

Definite Uriah Heep influence.

Paul Cairns probably played on this too. Iron Maiden 1978-79, second guitar.

Rest in peace Paul Di'anno.

Has a wierd glam metal sound plus some punk
Punk? Metal? This just sounds cool.
K pop :v
Pure chaos and awesomeness lol
Heavy Metal forever
none of the singers of maiden had a band voice, all were amazing, dianno had by far the shortest range but the coolest voice,
I wish this was on the album Iron Maiden. I love this song so much :(
It's properly recorded as a B-side in the Women in Uniform single
Maiden is the best. I think :D
UP THE IRONS!!
Best Maiden
you better get ready to fuck with your enemies
if it was 78, wouldn't this be Dennis Wilcock as vocals?
Dennis left maiden in 1978
30&31 December 1978. Dennis Willcock left April 1978.
Punky Iron Maiden 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
i prefer Paul Di'anno over both bruce and blaze.

now we see were 'Arry got da inspiration for "Invaders". lyrics are very indetical. badass song by da way
Yeah, is in "Women in Uniform" Single too. But I prefer this version.
dave the boss
New wave iron Maiden
ok i like it !!!
Bruce covers 2 millennia of Iron Maiden success
Sounds like an early less polished version of Invaders from Number of the Beast.
Can't figure out why Murray would record one of the guitar tracks with zero distortion throughout the whole song
...
Yes, there was a thin line here...
Hacker Kazbek played Beast under Misery,See Him, Control in My Link.
Wish they kept Dianno. Nothing against Bruce Dickinson, he's a great frontman and singer but I personally prefer Paul Dianno's singing.
awesome thnx for find it.but i have a question how that was recorded in 1978 and the soundhouse tapes recorded in 1979?
30&31 December 1978... Released in 1979.
👍🏴⚒️🔧
Well I've read that "Invaders" was inspired by this song. So it's normal that the lyrics are similar.
can I buy this through amazon?
DIANNO!!!!
personally, Paul era was more dark and grittier but with Bruce it kinda turned into "hair-metal" but Iron Maiden STILL rules!
could you please give me a little bit more information about that please? I would really like to have that bootleg.
on wich album is that song? are there any other early di anno tracks?
do you have that bootleg?
@vidman520 wats a synths
heres the order of who i like better paul, bruce, bailey
@skaterdouche4 Invaders is written so much better than Invasion. It is obvious that they took that song and decided to make it cool enough to put on an album. Just look at the lyrics! Huge improvement. Paul could never make the song sound as awesome as Bruce either.
UHHHH No. This track was turned into what is now Invaders.
viva paul baiano
Punk Metal
punk influences are clear here
@xXteknomaticXx Na, he turned it into more power metal not hair metal, wtf?
not really, its faster i do like but this one is more original

@ter50
math please?...
ah... No!...wait
look at the 666 album: Eddie covers all ages and eras, even beginning of time
Poor clueless Steve thinks Maiden had no punk influence.
+StartabandRoxy Does he? Or does he just enjoy taking the piss out of punks?
STEVE HARRIS IS !!! ROCK N ROLL METAL!!!
Friend, punk was influenced by rockabilly and rock and roll, and Steve Harris too.... and Burning Ambition is a heavy/rock and roll song! not punk song !!!
StartabandRoxy they had to cause London had a huge punk scene.
Either that or he denies it for publicity
no dude it sounded punk but it IS metal punk does not have talented guitar players who put good leads in songs
thanks for uploading this. Maiden rules, but I must say this song is pretty much nonsense. I'm glad this was discarded.
