Fans lost their collective $#!+ and demanded she be released because she "deserved" a legend figure for so long. And so we got what we got. That one is on us.
It's funny how the best Chris Evans figure came out only a few months later. I love that Affleck Daredevil figure. The face was spot on. His articulation is the only thing at sucks. It's stiff just like Affleck so in a way it's accurate.
Overall, great life advice on the "Emma Frost" figure. I personally, stopped buying ML figures when Hasbro took over. I did break the streak with the recent "Cable" release.

A lot of people would have all these toys in the list. And those people are the completists. I Got the ToyBiz is the Rogue action figure recently. I passed on the X-MEN box set because it was too expensive in toy shows in my area, And when it was still up on shelves, I prioritized the Fantastic 4 and Urban Legends box sets. I bought her from a FaceBook toy selling group instead. I was so excited to get her in the mail coz she is the last few figures that I haven't got from the ToyBiz era. Then after opening the package, the regret sunk in.
Jeremy Brown I know that he doesn’t have knees, and he doesn’t pose well but once he goes down in price I’ll get him, but I totally won’t pay $20 for it, but I still think it’s a good figure. But I can understand why you don’t like him

Since this is the second video of the same idea, here are some ideas for future videos I would appreciate: PrestoMagix and Colorforms - I was a poor kid who sometimes chose one of these items which often came with full sets of characters over the purchase of another figure because a figure was just a figure, not a full playset with multiple single pose 2D figures. Zoids - coolest toys of the early 80's with tiny astronaut men pilots with fully sculpted psuedo-Battlestar Galactica Viper cockpits with motors, some of which didn't even need batteries. The Radio Shack Transformer knock-offs. I personally had Shockwave, which had a different name and was all grey, but much cheaper at the time. Empire Strikes Back Stormtrooper figures - there is a commercial from back in the day with Snowtroopers keeping watch from a guard shack constructed from a styrofoam cup... so of course I tried this and the cups available at the time were not big enough so they balanced on the head of the figures like a strange Rayden hat - was this a huge marketing scam to increase sales of white styrofoam cups at the time with a kickback to Kenner???

Toad. The history as I've been told is that Doom was going to be the wave 1 Toy Biz villain but they were sitting on a pile of Toads that had already been produced for a cancelled X-men line. As such, Toad is a misfit Legend in every sense and needs an updated figure in the worst way. Wave one! Ten points of articulation! A horror.
This is a great list! ToyBiz female figs really are the worst. My only issue with Ham is that the webs aren't painted as they are on pretty much every other Spider-figure! If I was confident in having a steady hand, I'd paint it myself.
I had that Rogue. Let's just say the recent retro carded Rogue was welcome as a replacement. Same with replacing the shrunken-head White Queen with the one from the Hellfire Club set.
I feel that the "Young Avengers" boxset Iron Lad should have been included. despite being included in a set with 3 other figure (2 of witch had a similar body type) Toybiz seemed to have an aneurysm when it cam to giving him functional joints. His shoulders and hips can barely move outward, his proportions make him look skeletal despite him wearing armor. and if you want working waist swivel/ab crunch then I have bad news for you. To me, it's ultimately a shame that this figure sucks because Iron Lad is my favorite member of that team
I don't understand why ToyBiz made such terrible female figures... I mean, the Storm Marvel Legends is oozing with attention to detail..... Also the Rogue figure on the last X-Men Line ToyBiz produced still looks great until this day..... My only issue with Hasbro is that they skip paint washes so figures always look "flat".... Also wish they would change to a more matte plastic so is not to shiny and cheap looking....
Wow, surprised Blizzard made it on here! He actually grew on me, considering that I only bought him to get a Hulkbuster part. My only complaint was that he didn't come with any ice effects. Otherwise, there's not much argument here! I tried to think of others I would add, but they all ended up being in other Spider-Man lines, and not Marvel Legends. They need to revisit some of those.
Spider Ham is a lovable obscure character, I’m not sure who would actually want this figure in their collection, forever. If it wasn’t for Spider Pig I don’t think many people would’ve known him. Hasbro knew he would’ve been a novelty figure that few would want so even with the lack of leg articulation, he would still sell to die hard fans. Come on if Rocket Raccoon and Maz are smaller in size with the same articulations as the six inch, Spider Ham could have the same. Nice details but McDonald’s level outcome.
Spider-ham spot should go to Paladin ,is the only other figures that shares his unsold numbers with Misty knigth (a 2015 figure you can still found at stores)
Not sure why so many people think IW Cap is worthy of top 10 for just the inaccurate head. The articulation itself is great, the size is markedly improved over the CW version, and he has the right bulk and the sculpt is otherwise excellent, missing glove and head not withstanding. Id say the CW and AOU versions of Cap are much worse, with a 100% inaccurate head, tiny arms, terrible moving legs, and being too small even when stood next to Bucky. Do note im not saying this is Dans fault, obviously. Id like to hear from people who think IW Cap is bad enough to be voted for.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Spider-Ham. I've been waiting since 5th grade for a figure of him. I'd be fine with a Smurf type figurine. But if you think I'm going to pay $22 for that, you're insane. Maybe we'll get a better one later?
A lot of times I'll wait for a figure I'm "Meh" about to drop in price online, but I get the feeling Spider-Ham is going to be full price for months before selling out completely. I just know it.
Aarón Cordero it’s a nice mold. Not crazy about the blob of swirly gold plastic with next to no paint apps of a character nobody knows, cares about or asked for. Heck even if they wanted a solid colored easy/cheap to do cosmic character there were tons of better options. I get that they pay for the gorgeous detailed figures in each wave with a few cheap easy to produce ones that mostly use existing tooling, but even by those standards he feels lacking to me. (And that’s just my opinion, your mileage may vary). It feels a little ruder when he is the unwanted high margin figure needed for the last piece of Mantis. A gorgeous figure, but a bit of a meh feeling as a BAF. Yeah we know they are amortizing the cost of the new female tooling via BAF, but it’s still kinda lame, especially when they do itwice in a row for the same tooling (Mantis and Okoye)
Ha. That's one of the few figures I was actually excited to see in the last few odd years (and picked up quickly). I wanted nothing whatsoever to do with movie-fied Mantis. I think I actually called out the fact that, when that wave was announced, it was littered with characters I wanted, and a middle finger of a build-a-figure (given that any characters mutilated for the GotG movies are middle fingers to anyone who knew or liked those characters in the first place)

You forgot to mention the fact that Cap was missing one of the two Wakanda shields he used in Infinity War. Hasbro has made 3.75" figures forever so why couldn't they make Spider-ham fully articulated?
The IW cap is a great figure. It's the first movie Cap since The Avengers that has been good. He has a good thickness to him and isn't scrawny like the AOU and CW figures. Sure the head isn't 100% but i think it really just comes down to the hair sculpt and color. I would honestly rank that IW Cap in my top 10 of the year for Marvel Legends.
That IW Cap has a disappointing head sculpt that looks nothing like Chris Evans, but it’s better than the head previously used for Civil War, Age of Ultron, and the Winter Soldier, and with an entirely new sculpted body and better bulk than that old body mold this figure deserves more love smh There’s also too much hate on figures like Blizzard. Sure figures of more obscure “lower tier” villains aren’t as desirable as a Spider-Man or Wolverine, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be made. That Blizzard ain’t a great figure, and Hasbro probably made him in less than a day, only really having to make a head that itself could be reused for the future. Again not great, but it’s exactly what it should be and there’s way worse and more hilariously bad figures out there.
Definitely agree with you, Dan. I only bought SpiderHam so I could build Monster Venom and needed him for my Spiderverse display. The top two was no surprise there. Scarlet Witch and Emma Frost both are the worst ToyBiz Legends ever.
Missing from this list: Nemesis wave Tigra, the Astonishing X Men suit Beast, Series 8 Black Widow, and Series 1 Toad. All of them should have been on here if not at least in the honorable (or dishonorable) mention list.
1) You could take the White Queen figure, add some zombie paint and you got a female zombie figure. Why are her joints all weird? Because she is a zombie. 2) Why is half of the rouge figure boobs? Are they trying to say something without actually saying it? 3) Why is is so hard to make female action figures? Have they improved the modes since then? Is it still a herculean task to make a proper female action figure?
I shaved down the cockatoo crest on the front of Cap's head with an Exacto knife. Then I put a dark brown wash on his hair and beard. Then I put a matte clearcoat on the head. He still doesn't look good, but he looks better than the SH Figuarts.
Yeah, that Emma Frost is a scrawny drag... Queen. Bucky should be right up there with her. Cap America is not that bad but there are sooooo many of them that I don't care. It is cool that you put so much thought in this list. Love your videos. Thanks bro.
Lack of value for money (and a clear desire to troll Dan) were strong factors for Spider-Ham. I do still intend to try and track one down, but I'm hoping to trade/get a discount from somebody who just wants the BAF piece. Add me to the group that's wanted that figure for years, but I think it's fair to wish that he'd gotten better treatment. At least he got a pretty nice LOOKING figure, unlike good ol' Scarlet Mitch. She got a nice update; maybe one day, Spider-Ham will, too. Admittedly, that doesn't seem particularly likely, but maybe.
I didnt know about Spider Ham until that wave, but instantly fell in love. Im an enthusiast for cute, ridiculous characters, so it was a no brainer. Does the leg issue suck? I guess, but at least the upper half is fine.
I worked in a comic book store in the early 2000s, and these female Toybiz figures were there when I started, and they were there when management closed the store. For all I know, they're still there in the disused storage room. Sitting. Watching. Waiting.
I don't like Spider-Ham and even I can say the votes have to be kind of bias. The small figures suffer from minimal articulation, but their detail in sculpt and paint are all pretty good. I would say the slot belongs to 'all of the small figures.' Rocket from the first Guardians wave is just as bad, as are others.
I don't think one head sculpt ruins a whole figure. That Infinity War Captain America maybe doesn't look like Chris Evans, but it does great at articulation, sculpt, and it holds up as a toy in general.

I would love to see a best of the dark days of Marvel Legends. So much of this list is early Hasbro efforts which are mostly terrible. Having said that Spiral and Wendigo are most haves to any true Legends collector.
I like your 3 rules for positive reviewing; but WHO LIKES THAT EMMA FROST?!?!? That figure looks like they Frankensteined a figure together and actually if they repainted her to be Zombie Emma Frost she would a great figure.
I only have Blizzard, and only because I have more heroes than villains. Both Marvel and DC have this problem. So I try to buy every villain I can. Marvel actually does better in this area. Part of this may be because after Superman and Batman, most DC characters don't have a recognizable Rogues Gallery. Flash only has had 3 or 4 of his made, Hawkman and Atom have no known arch enemies. Aquaman only 2, Wonder Woman only Cheetah, Circe, and Ares, Green Arrow only Merlyn. Marvel, while also lacking in specific Rogues Gallarys has more recognizable villain 'teams' Brotherhood, Thunderbolts, Masters of Evil, etc. and also has put out more 'battle' packs with Kree/Skrull, AIM, I even have some Hand ninja. To make up for the heroes numerical superiority in both collections I add articulated robots, dinosaurs, and characters from other lines.
I thought the toybiz x23 was bad, then I remembered the figures on your list, and yeah, that white queen and wolverine were hideous, but x 23 could in there.
Almost an awesome top 10. Spider Ham is the OG of the Spiderman multiverse. We should glad he was finally recognized as a legend. (Although a Peter Porker alt head might have saved him from this list.)

The Spider-Ham figure looks great from the front despite the articulation, but c'mon Dan. You have to admit they completely copped out on the back of the figure. They just copied the front of the costume and ignored the spider pig logo that belongs on his back. I don't think its top 10 bad, but it is pretty dissapointing.
Honest question, what is the point of including Toy Biz in this at all? Isn't that a bit unfair? Sure, Toy Biz had their ups and downs but the figures they released as a whole are so long in the tooth it just seems like low hanging fruit and the results show that people leaned toward those early figures. And at the risk of mixing my fruit metaphors: isn't this mostly apples and oranges? Still a good video though. I loved the Rogue single frame inserts. Creepy and hilarious. We decided to just let the voting go wherever it went. Let the viewers tell us what they were looking at and thinking about. We didn't want to dictate what the list would be. I was surprised to see what the results were and, ultimately, our number one priority is to make an entertaining product and I think me being SURPRISED by some of the results played into that perfectly.
Spider-Ham should not be on this list, that's garbage! The figure is great in person. Highly articulated except the knees (which would probably have made the legs an ugly mess), Porkgrind head for Venom body, and allowed us to get Monster Venom because of his small size. Haters gonna hate, but I'm guessing 90% of the voters don't even own Porker or haven't held him in hand.

Juan Sanchez GotGv2 Rocket is a much smaller figure and has almost full articulation.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Spider-Ham. I've been waiting since 5th grade for a figure of him. I'd be fine with a Smurf type figurine. But if you think I'm going to pay $22 for that, you're insane. Maybe we'll get a better one later?
A lot of times I'll wait for a figure I'm "Meh" about to drop in price online, but I get the feeling Spider-Ham is going to be full price for months before selling out completely. I just know it.
He'll be in Spiderverse, so if a new figure is coming, it'll be soonish.
You can always get one later but why when you don't want it now for $22? Good luck finding it for less than that in a couple of months.
I have waited 30some years for one, and look at him! He's articulated up top but not on the legs? that's GARBAGE!

Aarón Cordero it’s a nice mold. Not crazy about the blob of swirly gold plastic with next to no paint apps of a character nobody knows, cares about or asked for. Heck even if they wanted a solid colored easy/cheap to do cosmic character there were tons of better options. I get that they pay for the gorgeous detailed figures in each wave with a few cheap easy to produce ones that mostly use existing tooling, but even by those standards he feels lacking to me. (And that’s just my opinion, your mileage may vary). It feels a little ruder when he is the unwanted high margin figure needed for the last piece of Mantis. A gorgeous figure, but a bit of a meh feeling as a BAF. Yeah we know they are amortizing the cost of the new female tooling via BAF, but it’s still kinda lame, especially when they do itwice in a row for the same tooling (Mantis and Okoye)
Andrew Taylor Ex Nihilio is a pretty cool character. You definitely need to read Jonathan Hickmann’s run on Avengers.
Ha. That's one of the few figures I was actually excited to see in the last few odd years (and picked up quickly). I wanted nothing whatsoever to do with movie-fied Mantis.
I think I actually called out the fact that, when that wave was announced, it was littered with characters I wanted, and a middle finger of a build-a-figure (given that any characters mutilated for the GotG movies are middle fingers to anyone who knew or liked those characters in the first place)

You forgot to mention the fact that Cap was missing one of the two Wakanda shields he used in Infinity War. Hasbro has made 3.75" figures forever so why couldn't they make Spider-ham fully articulated?
The IW cap is a great figure. It's the first movie Cap since The Avengers that has been good. He has a good thickness to him and isn't scrawny like the AOU and CW figures. Sure the head isn't 100% but i think it really just comes down to the hair sculpt and color. I would honestly rank that IW Cap in my top 10 of the year for Marvel Legends.
That IW Cap has a disappointing head sculpt that looks nothing like Chris Evans, but it’s better than the head previously used for Civil War, Age of Ultron, and the Winter Soldier, and with an entirely new sculpted body and better bulk than that old body mold this figure deserves more love smh
There’s also too much hate on figures like Blizzard. Sure figures of more obscure “lower tier” villains aren’t as desirable as a Spider-Man or Wolverine, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be made. That Blizzard ain’t a great figure, and Hasbro probably made him in less than a day, only really having to make a head that itself could be reused for the future. Again not great, but it’s exactly what it should be and there’s way worse and more hilariously bad figures out there.
Forget the haters. This is Spider-Ham 1.0...Like Rocket he’ll get a 2.0 figure. He’s gonna be a hero in the Spider-verse film.

Definitely agree with you, Dan. I only bought SpiderHam so I could build Monster Venom and needed him for my Spiderverse display. The top two was no surprise there. Scarlet Witch and Emma Frost both are the worst ToyBiz Legends ever.

Missing from this list: Nemesis wave Tigra, the Astonishing X Men suit Beast, Series 8 Black Widow, and Series 1 Toad. All of them should have been on here if not at least in the honorable (or dishonorable) mention list.
Spider Ham seems more like an Imaginext figure than a Marvel Legends one.
1) You could take the White Queen figure, add some zombie paint and you got a female zombie figure. Why are her joints all weird? Because she is a zombie.
2) Why is half of the rouge figure boobs? Are they trying to say something without actually saying it?
3) Why is is so hard to make female action figures? Have they improved the modes since then? Is it still a herculean task to make a proper female action figure?

I shaved down the cockatoo crest on the front of Cap's head with an Exacto knife. Then I put a dark brown wash on his hair and beard. Then I put a matte clearcoat on the head. He still doesn't look good, but he looks better than the SH Figuarts.
Yeah, that Emma Frost is a scrawny drag... Queen. Bucky should be right up there with her. Cap America is not that bad but there are sooooo many of them that I don't care. It is cool that you put so much thought in this list. Love your videos. Thanks bro.

Lack of value for money (and a clear desire to troll Dan) were strong factors for Spider-Ham. I do still intend to try and track one down, but I'm hoping to trade/get a discount from somebody who just wants the BAF piece. Add me to the group that's wanted that figure for years, but I think it's fair to wish that he'd gotten better treatment. At least he got a pretty nice LOOKING figure, unlike good ol' Scarlet Mitch. She got a nice update; maybe one day, Spider-Ham will, too. Admittedly, that doesn't seem particularly likely, but maybe.
Maybe he'll get re-released articulated from the waist down and non-articulated from the waist up. Then we can just swap the parts.

I didnt know about Spider Ham until that wave, but instantly fell in love. Im an enthusiast for cute, ridiculous characters, so it was a no brainer. Does the leg issue suck? I guess, but at least the upper half is fine.

I worked in a comic book store in the early 2000s, and these female Toybiz figures were there when I started, and they were there when management closed the store. For all I know, they're still there in the disused storage room. Sitting. Watching. Waiting.
I don't like Spider-Ham and even I can say the votes have to be kind of bias. The small figures suffer from minimal articulation, but their detail in sculpt and paint are all pretty good. I would say the slot belongs to 'all of the small figures.' Rocket from the first Guardians wave is just as bad, as are others.

I don't think one head sculpt ruins a whole figure. That Infinity War Captain America maybe doesn't look like Chris Evans, but it does great at articulation, sculpt, and it holds up as a toy in general.
Spider Ham is the Man !!!!! Well, the Pig. I can't believe the hate he got. It's simply stellar he received a figure.... Would I love to see a whole Spider Ham gallery of figures? (Goose Rider, Captain Americat , Hulk Bunny, etc.... ) Absolutely!!!!! Still, this is a good start. 👍🤓😎
I think there should be a distinction between worst (like Bucky and Emma) and most disappointing (Like Cap and Spider-Ham, apparently, which I don't I agree with).
I sold that Ultimate Wolverine as soon as I got the figure, new in-box, from ebay. I only got it for the Blob, BaF.

I would love to see a best of the dark days of Marvel Legends. So much of this list is early Hasbro efforts which are mostly terrible. Having said that Spiral and Wendigo are most haves to any true Legends collector.
I like your 3 rules for positive reviewing; but WHO LIKES THAT EMMA FROST?!?!? That figure looks like they Frankensteined a figure together and actually if they repainted her to be Zombie Emma Frost she would a great figure.
I agree on the first spot. Emma Frost is my favorite character and that figure was a HUGE let down.
I only have Blizzard, and only because I have more heroes than villains. Both Marvel and DC have this problem. So I try to buy every villain I can. Marvel actually does better in this area. Part of this may be because after Superman and Batman, most DC characters don't have a recognizable Rogues Gallery. Flash only has had 3 or 4 of his made, Hawkman and Atom have no known arch enemies. Aquaman only 2, Wonder Woman only Cheetah, Circe, and Ares, Green Arrow only Merlyn. Marvel, while also lacking in specific Rogues Gallarys has more recognizable villain 'teams' Brotherhood, Thunderbolts, Masters of Evil, etc. and also has put out more 'battle' packs with Kree/Skrull, AIM, I even have some Hand ninja. To make up for the heroes numerical superiority in both collections I add articulated robots, dinosaurs, and characters from other lines.
I thought the toybiz x23 was bad, then I remembered the figures on your list, and yeah, that white queen and wolverine were hideous, but x 23 could in there.

Almost an awesome top 10. Spider Ham is the OG of the Spiderman multiverse. We should glad he was finally recognized as a legend. (Although a Peter Porker alt head might have saved him from this list.)

Daniel Craig, Of course the fully-articulated figure we all Imagined would have never made this list. I'm just saying some cooler accessories, like an alternate head and even some arms. Might have made what they actually gave us a little more palatable.
The Spider-Ham figure looks great from the front despite the articulation, but c'mon Dan. You have to admit they completely copped out on the back of the figure. They just copied the front of the costume and ignored the spider pig logo that belongs on his back. I don't think its top 10 bad, but it is pretty dissapointing.
I call shenanigans on Spider-Ham. That figure is AMAZING.

Honest question, what is the point of including Toy Biz in this at all? Isn't that a bit unfair? Sure, Toy Biz had their ups and downs but the figures they released as a whole are so long in the tooth it just seems like low hanging fruit and the results show that people leaned toward those early figures. And at the risk of mixing my fruit metaphors: isn't this mostly apples and oranges?

We decided to just let the voting go wherever it went. Let the viewers tell us what they were looking at and thinking about. We didn't want to dictate what the list would be. I was surprised to see what the results were and, ultimately, our number one priority is to make an entertaining product and I think me being SURPRISED by some of the results played into that perfectly.

Spider-Ham should not be on this list, that's garbage! The figure is great in person. Highly articulated except the knees (which would probably have made the legs an ugly mess), Porkgrind head for Venom body, and allowed us to get Monster Venom because of his small size.
Haters gonna hate, but I'm guessing 90% of the voters don't even own Porker or haven't held him in hand.
That Daredevil is a dead ringer for Casey Affleck, which is terrible considering it's supposed to be Ben.
