This was fun, thanks! LOL You know, over the past several years I've acquired - like many of us - a large deck collection and I'm not at all bothered by the fact that there are many of those that I don't and maybe never will use in readings. It's fine. I occasionally just take them out, give them a shuffle, enjoy the artwork -- whether that's making me laugh or appreciate the images in some way -- and then tuck them away again. No biggie. Just my 2CW. :) OH and BTW, the Cat Tarot (with mostly film star images) could be used in a fun way for celebrity and/or Hollywood type readings. I have my 'serious' readings and decks that go with them but I also have 'fun and playful' decks for 'entertainment only' type readings. Blessings!
Yes that's true I have much older decks that I don't use now but did at one point and time. That's a great idea for the cattarot. I should try that. Thanks for the suggestion ☺
I have the Enchanted Garden deck & agree with you. I think the intricate borders add to the confusion of what you’re looking at too at times. Love the Hermit in this deck though. Interesting idea for a video 😊
Hi Carrie. I am a huge fan of Schitt‘s Creek! Like you, I came to it late once it was on Netflix. I do not own the deck, but if I did, I think I would use it when I need to bring some levity into my day…Like if I’m just taking things too seriously in my life and I need an injection of humor. I had the same exact reaction to the minds eye tarot as you did. It’s totally flat for me, plus I am a guidebook person, and that guidebook did nothing for me. I also found the artwork very same-sy. I ended up rehoming that deck almost immediately. I do agree with you about the tarot of the enchanted garden though. I would have a difficult time reading with that deck as well. OMG, I was laughing so hard when you were talking about the last deck. You kept saying “what is that?“ LOL. Too funny! Great video!
I like to use nursery rhymes to create spreads (I made a video a few weeks back about this), and I do that with humorous-leaning decks like the Lo Scarabeo cat one. I don't have the deck personally, but I feel like meeting it where it is at and creating some sort of childlike play around it would work well with its energy. I think the last deck would work well with that kind of activity, too. Sometimes when we pair silly rhymes with silly decks, we find the silliness more endearing instead of off-putting. 😂
I was just thinking that I would use the cat deck for archetypal work, like embodying or working on the energy of a certain character apart from the actual meaning of the card. After all, we are not always as lucky as to have such a detailed back story for the people represented in the cards, I would use it as an advantadge. Also, I believe that when reading for people that are not knowledgeable of tarot, in not such a serious framework (client or theme wise) it might be less daunting for someone to see some familiar faces in the cards and might get a clearer message for them. And cats. Everyone loves cats.
@@0-.satori.-0 what a fantastic idea! I'm glad I made this video, you guys have given me some great ideas for these decks. I didn't even think to use it in an archetypal way. 😊
I bought the Schitty Tarot and didn’t use it. I pulled it out to use for a friend. I loved using it and it has a great shuffle in my opinion. So, I’m keeping it knowing it’s a once in a while deck. I decided to unhaul the Enchanted Tarot. I tried using it but the art blends together.
@@margarets2924 maybe I'll start using the schitty tarot for others instead of just reading for me with it. It really does have a great shuffle to it 😊
I do not have any of these decks! As much as I loved Schitt's Creek I don't think I would use the tarot deck. I have the same issue with the Game of Thrones and Stanger Things and Supernatural decks. I think for me they are more collectors. The Tinseltown Deck could be fun if you have a past life in that time period or connecting with someone from that time period, but most of the other ones I don't know if I could connect with. 😍
Oh yes that would be fun to use tinseltown for past life. It took me awhile to warm up to GOT deck too. Maybe I should use the schitts creek for financial readings considering that was a huge part of it. 🤔☺
I absolutely love Schitts Creek and will now have to add that deck to my collection. I saw it is still available on Etsy. Thank you. And the Tinseltown does have a relationship vibe kinda deck. Last deck is very odd. Kinda reminds me of the Zombie Deck. Very 50’s vibe. I do love the zombie deck but do not use as often. I have no idea how you could use the grand duchess, it’s very odd hahahah
The D encompassing the couple's face while they creep closer to kiss makes me think the D stands for, well. Richard, you know? Like the couple is "moving fast." The waffles to me would be representative of them staying the night with one another, further driving home that idea of a fast-moving passion. The Doublemint Gum makes me think of the Doublemint twins-"Double your pleasure, double your fun." What a spunky lil deck that last one was! It seems very difficult to read with, yet potentially very rewarding.
That's brilliant!!! I'm so hung up on making those images fit traditional meanings I just need to take it at face value only. Thanks for that insight 😊
I was laughing watching this! I have quite a few decks like this. I agree regarding the Enchanted Garden Tarot. The last one... perhaps try it with the Outlaw Oracle?
I don't have help for specific decks, but I do have an overall observation which may help you. There's a theme here: four out of five of the decks all have old Hollywood celebrity, movie, t.v., advertising themes. The problem with decks like this is that they carry that kind of energy, the energy of stars, entertainment and media NOT tarot energy. Ergo you don't reach for them for tarot readings. So I think these decks may be fun collector items but not tarot reading decks. I hope this helps. All the best, Donna
That's absolutely true Donna. Out of those 3 since doing that video I've used Schitts creek often to get insight into relationships and its been quite insightful. The other 2 though still not using. Thanks for your input 😊
These are some tricky decks! I think my favorite is the Schitty Tarot. I would use it for vacation or family dynamic relationships readings. I've seen the last one with the green borders before... I am not sure how I would use it... but I like it!
I habe none of these Decks, but I know the tinseltown, had it in my basket before, but put it out again. I still like the depictions of it. I think it would be a wonderful summer deck, since a lot of Bikinis and convertables are shown 😊 I think it would be a great beginning to start with one card pulls to get to know the cards in every Deck. This way you can decide if you want to keep working with it. The grand duchesse maybe can function as an Oracle deck. One big thought I had, while watching you flipping through All decks: you could use it for creativity purposes, for creative writing for example or Story telling😊 Another Idea: don't know if you ever Heard of it, you could make an appointment with other Deck users to exchange Decks. everybody brings Decks she doesn't like or use anymore and there is the possibility to pass it o and take Another one instead which does interest you more. We used to to this with clothes and bags and so on 😂
