I bought the mafex one because of the thousand arms thingy. And I like the angry head sculpt. And I like that I can take the cloak off without looking strange.
Pre-ordered the Mafex version. I really like the angry head sculpt. since i already own Doctor Strange from figuarts with the head sculpt from manipple, it doesn't make sense for me to buy another one from SHF
The Mafex angry face sculpt looks the best for me. I'll have no problem getting both, especially since I got the early preorder price from Amiami($66) with the SHF
Thanks for this video DCSG. As someone who has pre-ordered both versions, I have been comparing them to movie clips and production pictures and here are my findings and thoughts. Head sculpts: Both have a neutral head that is slightly off, but the SHF's is a little better. But the Mafex has more accurate main hair colour, better defined hair sculpt and the more accurate greying on the sides. Whereas the greying hair on the SHF is just a simple stripe. The SHF has the closed eyes head, but the Mafex has the most accurate out of all 4 in the concentrating head. Clothes: The Mafex is more slightly more accurate in colour and details. The blue is a bit too dark on the SHF's. Cloak of Levitation: The Mafex is more accurate in details and in being one piece and removeable. Eye of Agamotto (closed): The SHF's is more detailed but oddly pegged into the chest and the rope glued around the body. Mafex's correctly goes around the neck with the rope attached. But the rope for both is lacking the red colour. The Scared Sword of Vishanti: SHF's colour is correct, but the Mafex's appears more accurate in design details, especially the hilt, which is correctly shaped like the the Eye of Agamotto. Crimson Bands of Cyttorak: SHF is more colour accurate and from where it appears from the hand. The Mafex's wrongly attaches to the wrists. Magic effects (including The Ruby Rings of Raggadorr and time stone effects): The details are more accurate on Mafex's. They also have more of the correct glow effect. But the SHF have the correct transparency around their's, but with wrong symbols. The SHF also includes two medium size orange effects. The Mafex has a double ring orange effect and two accurate large green time stone effects, while the SHF includes only one inaccurate one. Other accessories: The SHF has a portal effect and a green magic effect for The Eye of Agamotto. The Mafex has the open Eye of Agamotto and the Image of Ikonn hands attachment.

Just from the price comparison alone, SHF is about 30-40% cheaper for pre order. Both are great figures, but at this juncture I am likely to get myself a SHF instead of MAFEX

DCSG 81 because miles can do the hey trick and destroy thanos while peter will be attacked by some of thanos army and then captain marvel will have to save him lol
Mafex's left portal hand even has the sling ring (nice attention to detail)! Mafex has better accessories and scaling, but by the time this comes out, I'd have made my peace with not having the thousand-hands. By then, I'd want that money for another character, or a Dr. Strange 2 version. Hurts collecting movie figures when you're buying the same character over and over in search of the "definitive one".

Wow, definitely food for thought about this: I agree with everything you said 100%, spot on!. To me the best thing about the May fax version would probably be the Cape and the thousand hands gimmick. The thousand hands thing is really super cool and it’s kind of weird that SH Figurarts has never came out with that… to me, that’s the Mafex’ Best selling point. I pre-ordered the SHF version but since Mafex is notoriously slow in releasing dates & The price point is steep- I’m going to hold off for now... I got a pre-order offer from big bad toy store for $150 not $120 & it just made me Gnash my teeth...(Grrr) hehe 😜 I may eventually get it, but not anytime soon I don’t think!. @@DCSG81 A year just seems like forever to wait for some thing at least to me anyways… Like I said before I actually did pre-order the SHF Dr on titan & i’m kind of not holding my breath as to when it’s going to get here even though Figurarts is usually more dependable than Mafex as far as release dates, I’m just kind of over it for most of them!. LOL. I pre-ordered three months ago a Nick Fury a SHF from Japan that was supposed to be out like now and Once again I’m wondering if it’s ever going to show up… LOL...Who knows eventually when I turn 90 it’ll it’ll be here… Ha ha ha(unless they lose it in the mail that is or misplace my order)
@@MarcusEye Oh Mark, you don't have to worry about SHF release date. They are pretty on time and I think so far, I have only heard about 1 time delay, and it is only delay to the following month, not 3-4 months like Mafex. Hahahaha

Nice work comparing the figure effects to the movie scenes. Another great comparison video, maybe the best so far, Thank you! I like S.H.Figuarts, plus they almost have every character complete from Infinity War. My favorite of the two. Side note, I always wonder why Mafex made the Endgame Ironman 1st instead of the Mk 50 from infinity war when they started with that line first? I'd prefer the Mafex if the headsculpt looked like Benedict C. Hopefully they'll improve it before release like they did for Infinity War Thor. I've already ordered the SHF because I didn't even know Mafex were working on one, so I highly doubt I'll sell the SHF to get the Mafex.
I gotta go with Mafex. The face looks good to me and will probably be even better in-hand, like Thor was. The proportions and colors are far more accurate.

The "angry" headsculpt from Mafex is way better than the other 2 from SHF. The crimson bands look way more natural and less thicc than the ones from SHF, they are supposed to be made of cloth in real life so the Mafex one is better. The cloak from the Mafex one is damn cool, completely made of fabric, you can remove it from the figure and the one from SHF looks weird in some angles 'cuz of the plastic on the neck. Somehow, the proportions look better in the Mafex one... It's like the suit looks more natural and the one from SHF looks "too of a toy" but it's great scaled and still looks pretty decent for the price-point. The sword from the Mafex fig. looks epic and is CLOSER to the Hot Toys one. For me, the Mafex one is WAY better 👌 but the price is damn high. The one from SHF looks great but not as great as the Mafex one; the price is nice.
