I’m here because I love the 20s and charleston makes me happy
Fantastic stuff, these three young ladies put up a spectacular Charleston! So much respect and as much excitement!
Enjoy watching the Charleston dance. was my mother's favorite dance, but I never learned.
When my late granny came to weddings and wedding receptions / evening do, this is how she would dance, albeit slower.
To her *this* was dancing because that’s how she danced in her youth.
I was shock one time when I went to my cousin Michelles wedding and an old (older) lady was dancing the charleston, with a hold that tiger sub. She was good too, she must have been 79 at the time.
Absolutely fantastic. Charleston was meant to be fun when performed, and these ladies certainly make it look like fun. I imagine what great fun people would have had in the dance halls in the 1920s.
It’s so uplifting isn’t it. Just jolly music and brilliant moves that anyone could learn with some practice.
I really wish I had natural rhythm and the ability to dance, this is so enjoyable to watch, and such beautiful women. Thank you for posting this :-)
So are you
I loved this. It's especially pleasing to realize that we're watching a piece of American culture, not to mention those three beautiful women.
Que mejor danza para lis jovenes .Rememorar los tiempos hermodos de nuestros abuelos., seria MARAVILLOSO,, desde Chile.
Wonderful show! I've always liked The Charleston since I first saw it as a kid because it's so dynamic and is from an age where it was seen as really stepping out!
Wow! I listened initially just to hear a different version of the song! Wow was I short sighted! Great Dancers!

Early (CHARLESTON DANCE) History:
The Juba,
It’s believed that the Charleston actually originated from a dance called the Juba.
Juba’s origins began in Africa, and enslaved Africans brought it to South Carolina.
The Juba involves one hand that’s constantly slapping and one foot that’s always stomping.
It was popularized in the mid-1800s.
