Hi @,WatchAlfiePlay, thanks for your comment. The ethnic term for a person from Iran is indo-aryan and not aerian. If you look in the text it says that the two are not related, (second paragraph of your link).
@@steveallen1648 mispelled sorry. Although it has many spellings... The Nazis took the word to refer to specifically northern Europeans but in actual fact it is the culture and language of Indo-European heritage. He needed to get the Jews out of the definition somehow... Haha
Yes, but whatever the spelling (due to the interference of various languages throughout history) Aryan didnt always have your definition of the word. Most would translate it as "noble" depending on the language. It didn't always mean northern European... Or blue eyes blonde hair etc... The definition changed over time in some places and not in others. Like "soccer" is an American word right? Well actually they used the British term before the football federation became a thing and established the name "football" to the sport. The Americans stuck with the word that travelled over to then on a boat... And the British adapted to one set of rules and one official name for the sport. When the name changed back to Iran, it was a return to the original name of the country but using modern pronunciation of the regional languages.
@@WatchAlfiePlay thanks again for your comment. Iran is a very old country more than 4,000 years old and populated by indo-aryans which gave the region it's name. It has always been called Iran in Iran because of this. It was the West that wanted to change the name to Persia joining together the territories of Iran and Iraq which was accepted in the international ambit. Just as Albion became Britain the area it covers is the same and is still Albion if we choose to use the name or not (if I used the name Albion I would imagine that you would understand what I was saying). And this is my point. Persia was a region in the old Iran, which we know as Fars, however the locals call Persia. We can discuss how a word has been bastardised by foreign influence but it doesn't change the original meaning of the word otherwise words would have no meaning whatsoever.
I didn`t mix it up. Look it up, literally it is named Aerean as is Ireland "Éire". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan
