hi , what are the ports on the top of the inlet manifold for as the engine in my dumper truck has no caps for the ports , it runs fine but i am concerned as to why they are open ?
Hi , they're used to pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder via a the air intake , this is used to aid compression for difficult starts , earlier models have a exposed screw head and the later ones (this one) has them deeper recessed and covered by rubber bungs

I always mark and back head nut/bolts off 1/4 turn then retorque in one movement otherwise you're just torqueing against the inertia/stiction
