ADDITIONAL INFO: Black Square recently updated their planes and the example aircraft.cfg now has in the panel section panel= “noreg” and that has been causing issues for others in not getting their liveries to show up. The panel section should look like this: panel= "" if you are converting a livery that doesn't have a baked in registration. If you are converting a livery that does have a baked in registration, put the following on the panel section to remove the default registration: Caravan: panel = "\..\..\bksq-aircraft-analogcaravan\panel.noreg" King Air: panel = "\..\..\bksq-aircraft-analogkingair\panel.noreg" It's also worth noting that these noreg panels were added to the default aircraft recently, so you don't need to download mine or JD's noreg panels, but I'll leave them linked in the description anyways just in case. FOR THE BONANZA: Most of the process done in this video works. Once you do it when you go in the sim and check your livery, you will most likely have your converted livery below the painted lines of the default one. To get rid of this: -Download this file: drive.google.com/file/d/1u5ZklOMPyuFxC5UHlpYQZyJZVH2P57X2/view?usp=sharing -Put both files into the TEXTURE.YOURLIVERY folder -Remember to regenerate your layout.json file The no registration panel has now been included by default on all the Black Square planes (on some it doesn't work yet, will update this when they do). The path you need to put in the panel section of the aircraft.cfg for the bonanza is: "\..\..\bksq-aircraft-analogbonanza\panel.noreg" To choose between the NA, Tip Tank, and Turbo bonanzas, simply change the base_container line in the aircraft.cfg to: NA: "..\bksq-aircraft-analogbonanza" Tip Tank: "..\bksq-aircraft-analogbonanzatanks" Turbo: "..\bksq-aircraft-analogbonanzaturbo" FOR THE BARON: Just like the bonanza, you'll have your converted livery below the painted lines of the default one. However, in this case we can't just use a transparent DDS file to get rid of the lines like in the bonanza because many liveries use these lines for the white lines on the props or other details. So here's what to do: -Install the livery and convert it -Go to the original livery's TEXTURE.YOURLIVERY folder -Copy the BARONG58_AIRFRAME_PAINT_ALBD.PNG.DDS and its accompanying .json file -Paste it into your conversion's TEXTURE.YOURLIVERY folder -Remember to regenerate your layout.json file The no registration panel on the Baron doesn't work yet, but you can fix this by going into the panel.noreg folder in the bksq-aircraft-analogbaron folder and changing the values of VPainting01's size_mm section to 0,0. Like this: [VPainting01] size_mm = 0,0 Once you do that, you can link it to your conversion by putting the following path into the panel section of the aircraft.cfg's conversion: "\..\..\bksq-aircraft-analogbaron\panel.noreg" To choose between the NA and Turbo Baron, simply change the base_container line in the aircraft.cfg to: NA: "..\bksq-aircraft-analogbaron" Turbo: "..\bksq-aircraft-analogbaronturbo" It's also helpful to rename the ui_type line in the aircraft.cfg depending on which version you're doing so that you don't have a turbo bonanza or baron with the same name as the regular ones in your aircraft selection list.

I have another issue converting a Baron - all works ok but the analog version has all the default dark blue decals all painted onto the lower half of the fuselage over the skin, the asobo version has none. Do you know which file is calling these to display?
Yeah sorry I totally forgot to update the pinned comment with instructions on the baron (I was just having so much fun with it!). Check it now to see what you have to do

Was trying to add the 01 Livery from the default Asobo set for the Caravan that reside in the …/Packages/.../Official directory and not a Community download. No luck so far, but still looking for the reason why. Just curious though, will I be able to use those liveries, or do your instructions just apply to something downloaded into the Community directory from third parties?
I haven't had luck converting the default liveries, but there's no need to do it yourself: flightsim.to/file/37204/analog-caravan-default-asobo-208b-liveries-enabled
I've spent over two days trying to figure what I'm doing wrong, watched your video *multiple* times. I've even rebuilt my folder more than once. And, I've gone through the file structure, and the contents of the .cfg's with a fine tooth comb - and I can't get it to load as a Blacksquare Livery. Can you help me out?
So, I've tried this so many times following exactly what you're doing step-by-step & I've had zero luck. Even used the exact same livery you used in the video just in case. I only just now realized that in my hangar, the "Livery example" doesn't even populate. Everything else about the mod works fine & there's nothing else in my community folder causing conflicts. Is this something with a new update that's causing an issue, or?? I'm stumped.
Strange. If you say that not even the livery example shows up, try reinstalling the plane to see if maybe something is wrong there. If the livery isn't even showing up, then the issue could be the name of a folder, something wrong in the aircraft.cfg, or maybe with either one of the .json files. Make sure that each time you make a change to one of the folder's names or you add a file that you regenerate the layout.json because if you don't, then the mod will fail to show up. Make sure that the manifest.json is also updating each time you update the layout (check the package size before and after generating the layout file). It might also be best to copy what needs to go into the layout.json from the manual instead of the video description as it seems youtube messed up the formatting for that.
Thanks for the reply! So I’ve used Blacksquares software to both repair & reinstall, or uninstall. I’ve tried wiping the community folder, everything. I followed alongside your video and did it step by step word for word across a few different liveries. But I also remember when I initially installed the analog kingair and loaded it, only the three kingair skins were there from the start, never saw the livery example once. At this point I’m wondering if it’s not compatible with a new version or something. Everything else works completely fine.
@@ct328 I checked the latest version’s example livery aircraft.cfg and found that it now has in the panel section panel = “noreg”. Have you tried doing it with panel = “” instead? Great and thorough tutorial. I have done this before and it worked but I have been trying so much lately trying to convert some liveries with this tutorial and it just is not working. I have done everything right, aircraft.cfg, texture.cfg is correct, names and folders are correct, I deleted 'noreg' from the aircraft.cfg as mentioned below but it is still not working. It says in content manager that it is 'installed' but it doesn't show under liveries. Do you have a solution?
@@ethant4531 I took a look at your file and the problem is that you put Model = "ZK-VME" in the aircraft.cfg when it should be blank because your livery doesn't have a model folder. Just make sure it says Model = "" and it'll show up. I also recommend that you put "\..\..\bksq-aircraft-analogkingair\panel.noreg" in the Panel = section since this livery has a baked-in tail number. Also, the atc_id should be "ZK-VME" so it has the correct callsign by default.
I don’t use it myself, but I don’t see why it would. Just do it the same way I did here but on your linker folder. The program should recognize it based on the manifest.json and you should then be able to link it to your community folder
First, awesome tutorial and thx. I subscribed. I changed the panel = to "" and it worked! However, i have the duplicate atc id showing. Thanks for the kind words. A few updates ago, Black Square added their own panel.noreg but it doesn't work because they forgot to change the part that actually removes the registration. TBH I'm not sure if the JD mod works anymore, but try this: -Go into the original aircraft's folder and find the panel.noreg folder -Open the PANEL.CFG file and scroll down to the VPainting01 section -Change the size_mm value to 0,0 -Change the last 4 numbers on the painting00= part to 0, 0, 0, 0 It should look like this: [VPainting01] size_mm = 0,0 texture = $RegistrationNumber location = exterior painting00=Registration/Registration.html?font_color=white, 0, 0, 0, 0 Keep the same panel section on your converted livery's aircraft.cfg, and delete the JD mod.

You’re right, it’s a lengthy process, but you mostly just need to do it once, and then you can copy-paste it and change the details to get it to work with other liveries. There’s also many great liveries available that work natively with the analog addons so you can just drag and drop them in. I think a program that does this process automatically would be the best
