Great find for me , my wife's car is in the same condition, and this vid. inspired me to get started on it. I paint houses , and commercial properties for a living, my own business, and I just haven't had the time for personal projects. This vid. inspired me to slow down, and get some of my own projects started , life's to short to get over loaded with working. Doing my own projects are relaxing.
Love your mix of videos Gunny! Sometimes at work, sometimes the Torana restoration, and videos like this that help us fellers on a budget learn how to make our older daily drivers look good again.
Nice to see you are looking after mum Gunny👏the Jazz looks to be in good condition generally so there isn't to much body work needed, I like to use the Colad UV putty it seems to do a good job for me anyway👌 Looking forward to the next one mate, it's great to see another vide from you👌👍John UK
I’ve been using colad putties for couple of years, they are transparent. Never had them not cure, but I do normally put the light back on the filler after sanding.
I know you do alot of videos on paint gun. Just an idea maybe do some videos of on best sanders or and different sanding blocks reviews for the DIY guys it would help alot ... The only reson i thought of it is the way you talked about the sander in the being you talked about... Just a helpful reviews all around DYI WORLD
Hey, I have a question. What if you take like dark black metallic base and mix a touch of fine blue pearls. I am aiming for a color to shift just a bit at the right angle on the sunlight. Like to take some darker blue pearls rather than regular ones you can find basically everywhere. Is something similar possible? I thought, who else to ask but an amazing artist like yourself.
That uv putty seems really handy, gives you a lot of time to put it on and play with it. But its just way too expensive, also not available in Croatia :D. Id love to try to work with it.
My neighbor told me they used the uv stuff at the body shop for a while. They had jobs come back that failed. Maybe this was the reason because it didn’t cure to the bottom.
I'm stuck in my ways, i don't thrust new ways sometimes on a full respray i would use poly filler do the filler first when its drying i would work on a different panel not waste anytime, i don't like wasting time, i would use uv products for smart repairs
I found this very interesting and now for the question. When you use two different fillers, is there a danger of them not being compatible and cause you a problem?
Yo Gunman, Question time :) my boat has been painted in flowcoat the dude was suppose to polish it but the barfoon is "to busy" he told me to rub it down with 1000 grit then polish it ,that sound right ...
Honestly youll spend less time on a spot cross sanding instead of sanding the same spot over and over, your just making new lows instead of blocking in an X pattern so that all of the paint stays level in that area... sanding one way back and forth will put a wave in that panel... (most of the time)
If anyone could give feedback; I have a Stanley belt drive 2.5hp 50L air compressor. Would it be sufficient for running a sander, 6mm angle sander/grinder etc working on a prep?
I'd sure like to see how near to this job you could do in 8 hours with the same tools and materials and environment! To me the guy did a flawless job. He hates his mom so much he missed a pea sized shallow dent. Surely he'll be written out of her life forever since it don't look like a factory color sanded Bentley 😅
I don’t see the problem with 2 part filler. Give it ten mins or so and while you wait for it to cure sand other parts of the panel. It’s just another cash grab high tech UV bs
Lost my dog of 13 years during a Resto. These vids preoccupied my mind. Keep going gunny.
"...definitely a bit of bird poo on the roof, but nevermind the 180 will rip it up". 😂

I couldn't agree more mate. I love working on my own stuff
Taking good care of mom! Good on you Gunny!

Nice gunny doing some home garage stuff.
Thanks for the upload gunny and the detail you go into. The sandpaper grits used, feedback on the products. Really helpful 👍cheers
hey mate, you skip the part sanding the not damaged parts, which grit did you use? thank you
Great video as always Gunny. And a good son for doing your Mom's car. She will be well pleased with it when she gets it back

More of these videos again! Love seeing your prep mask and paint in 1 vids
I liked it and you are right it doesn't matter what way you block it as long it is that way you want it and it works for you
Lovely job 👏 gunny for your mam I bet she's well please with the car 🚗

Goodjob master🎉🎉🎉
Almost forgot about you legend… keen to watch the episode 👌🏻 ill leave my review after.
Hey gun man I notice you always use an orbital sander to sand, is it possible to do this by hand if I don’t have access to an orbital?
U are spraying in the garage what are u using for extraction of the over spray gunman could u show us the new setup please

I have to do the missus car. So it’s good knowledge as cars aren’t sprayed like they used to be.
My wife's got the same car same colour 😂👍, great job mate sorting your mom's car

Most of them will ship worldwide. Prices are slowly coming down

The harsh Aussie sun really impacts clearcoat and the underlying metallic paint.
Love it, Gunny what are the dimensions of your garage?
Small x small
@the gunman can you share what model flex sander?
www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/product/flex-sander-ore-5-150-ec-set/
Thanks! Only polishers were popping up for me
That color looks good imo

Hook it up for the moms 👍 I’ve done my moms Buick over a couple times bumpers and what ever body damage gotta keep it nice
I found this very interesting and now for the question. When you use two different fillers, is there a danger of them not being compatible and cause you a problem?
No, as long as you have prepared it properly. If you sand it you'll have mechanical adhesion
Yo Gunman, Question time :) my boat has been painted in flowcoat the dude was suppose to polish it but the barfoon is "to busy" he told me to rub it down with 1000 grit then polish it ,that sound right ...
It doesn't sound right to me, 1,000 is way too coarse to polish. And on a whole boat that would take a long time
@@TheGunmanChannel I'm unsure he said sand it down with 1000 THEN polish it what would you recommend ..
@@brylyn23 2,000 then 3,000 but damn that's a big job on a boat!!
@@TheGunmanChannel LOL thanks mate ,i'll give that a go,thanks heaps ey..

No way, it won't run an orbital sander. Get an electric sander, electric everything possible.
@@TheGunmanChannel thanks mate. Saves a bunch of heart ache.
Damn I've never caught one on release day
🔴18:51 😅 REALLY?!... BETTER TAKE OFF THE BATTERY MEN!
⚠️PLEASE REDUCE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOKING ☠️
That's not ever going to happen lol 😂
I guess the Torana is out under the tree?
Man you aussies seem to deal with that complete lack of ozone just fine. Good on ya.
(US- not dealing with issues like that for another 10 years.)
They reckon it's repairing itself.
@@TheGunmanChannel yeah it's nice they passed all them laws about freon and whatnot. But still, I hear skin cancer is running wild round you.
@@miles11we I have Irish blood so I stay out of the sun where possible, always wear sunscreen and hats etc. It was worse when I was a kid, big time
Howdy Mate 💪
