I'd add that english pronunciation in a way is much trickier since it is much more irregular. Almost as if you have to learn every new word's pronunciation by heart.
There was a reform of how the phone numbers worked at some point in the 90s in the UK. Before that, if you were phoning a local number you only needed to dial a much shorter number. You still needed to add certain codes to dial other parts of the country.

I live in West Virginia, in the U.S. would I pronounce it as West Virginia or use a different pronunciation as I learn the language
Why does the Gailic pronunciation differ from the English
Because it's a different language, in a different language family, and uses a different orthographical and phonological system

elizardbeth Ireland is sparsely populated and this programme is from 1995. Do you want New York phone numbers?
I used to phone the playwright Brian Friel from time to time. His phone number (in Donegal - this is Donegal Irish you're learning) - was Muff 3.

Allen Murray turn it up then. It’s a 25 year old programme that someone kindly uploaded. Be grateful.
I swear sometimes Irish sounds like a made-up language from a Monty Python movie. =)
