- Every character has many alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, but tons have missed potential, even those who got more attention to their design as DLC. In this video I give a bunch of new ideas for pallet swaps for every DLC fighter in Smash Ultimate to showcase the true potential they all have. We break down every character's selection of alts and add 4 brand new ones, would this have been a good idea as Smash DLC?

Correction: the luminary's alt is based on Angelo from DQ8. Additionally, Eight's alt is based on Terry from DQ6

Really, if characters could still have more than 8 costumes like in the Smash 4 Days, Steve would get a bucketload of alternate costumes to reference the other skins from the Legacy Console Edition and the humanoid mobs in the game, and I'd be all for it

15:31 Mythra's silver coliration could be a reference to the fantasy material of mithral, and Pyra's color to that of pyrite, both a play on the similar sounding names? Just a guess, though.
It’s actually a bit more complex. Pyra’s alter gives her the colors of the Zohar, an artifact that has played a significant role in all installments of the Xeno Series. She specifically references the Xenosaga iteration of the Zohar, being gold with an emerald gem in the center. As for Mythra’s silver, I’m not too sure.

Not more alts, just a bit more references and, therefore, replacements.
It would be nice if you could buy alternate costumes like the mii costumes and if that were to happen, they should probably go for the same price as the mii costumes

Idk what people were thinking about putting dream as a skin for Steve that’s like making a smg4 for Mario. it’s a dumb idea I think I would just make people hate Steve players more knowing most Steve players are dream smp stans
It’s also dumb because it wouldn’t realistically be referencing Minecraft and more or less a player who is known for playing Minecraft and thus somewhat hurting the representation of Minecraft.
The fact that notch, Jeb, or even herobrine weren’t considered considering how infamous they are to the nature of the game(note: I’ll be honest, I honestly wouldn’t them to be in the game because they distract from Steve but like if you wanted to reference players or infamous Minecraft figureheads then why not the literal creators and one of the biggest Minecraft myths).
@@firewolf950tfwgaming7 also lets say that the ssb development team added (minecraft TH-camr) skin to smash then later on that same youtuber was found out to be a horrible person for whatever offence. The smash team would be forced to remove said skin because well smash is for “good boys and girls” so the developers would have to waste there time changing and removing the skin because the horrible backlash would hurt smash as a hole. So I always just thought that One of the reasons community figures won’t be (and never should be) represented in Smash

It's a game of fun characters..irl people who can be horrible ect shouldn't be in it; especially not someone like dream who uses his fans to attack others and is literally banned from speedrunning minecraft (horrible idea to represent him of all youtubers if they wanted to for some reason represent any of them).

I think the DQ Hero alts reference different characters, going by the hair color.
Eleven's alt references Angelo from Dragon Quest VIII.
Eight's alt references Terry from Dragon Quest VI.

I have an interesting idea for a sora alt, how about one of them be a "hooded figure" that has it's face covered in the organization 13 hood. the voice lines would probably be cut but it would be a cool reference to the 2 people that come from Sora, Roxas and Xion. They emulate his fighting style so it could definitely work.
I was really excited to finally see the last episode of this series, as I love the idea of giving characters new alts, and most of the alts you came up with were really cool. But honestly, that Steve segment kinda disappointed me.
First of all, I don't think having the Legacy Console Editions skins was an uninspired idea at all. They're very iconic skins, and deserve to be represented in Smash. And second, most of the alts you came up with for Steve were frankly pretty weird. I think Steve having the tuxedo alt but Alex not having her equivalent to it is a strange idea, and the Piglin and Skeleton should just be actual costumes instead of weird pallette swaps (I mean, it's not like they'd be hard to implement anyways). And while I do like the idea of a Husk alt, if I was limited to only 4 alts, then I'd make them Tuxedo Steve and Alex, Skeleton and Piglin, as those are much more important to Minecraft.
Yeah I agree if they were to reference other mobs they definitely should just straight up use the models instead of a palette swap
I fully agree with this, Alex had a tuxedo skin except it was a black dress (maybe could of spiced it up with a flower in the hair or something if too boring?). The piglin color swap but not a piglin mob skin was extremely weird..
Pyra and Mythra's "tri-color motif" blue, white, and red outfit is a direct reference to Rex's ultimate driver armor.
The Gold and silver references Jin (silver) and Lora (gold).
Pesonally I think it wouldve been cool if Sora's different alts had him wield a different Keyblade with each one being from the game the alt originates from
While his white alt is clearly based on 3's Ultimate Form, given that it represents Roxas in the spirit battle, I'd say Two Become One would be a great addition to that one. Ultima is way too big to give him, would change his range and shortening it would look wrong.
Ah, shame I would've loved a Angeal alt for Sephiroth, I feel like it would've been perfect with the whole parallel of the characters in Crisis Core with Angeal being a Angel of Honour and Sephiroth being a Fallen Angel. Would've been a good opportunity to change the wing colour to a traditional white, with dark black hair with a black suit and accent colours maybe of silver or gold to represent Angeal's Buster Sword.

As far as I know half of the Pyra/Mythra costumes are inspired around Xenogears and Xenosaga
A thing I would have liked to see would have been skin packs for example the original fighters in the 64 version could get models in a 64 style. Even new ones like, a pack that gives all of the characters a skeleton or all of them wearing Nintendo Merch, I’d buy these packs and they seem to be a decent idea to me
well done man. I found this series to be amongst the most entertaining Smash content on TH-cam. And it was funny to get into the last one thinking how many shadow-dark and pink alters you would add :-)

These alt costume ideas are awesome! The Zelda and Shiek coloration for Pyra and Mythra I definitely found to be the most brilliant and would have been an amazing reference if actually in the game.

Really need to double check your resources sometimes bro. Luminary's alt is based on Angelo from Dragon Quest VIII and Eight's alt is based on Terry from Dragon Quest VI. Having said that, I REALLY liked the alternate colors for all 4 heroes you suggested, especially Eight's.
That character's name is MUMBO Jumbo, not Mambo.
I'm legitimately surprised the KOS-MOS art's other color wasn't based on T-elos, bit of a missed opportunity, but still a great idea. Excellent list! Loved the series!

Great to finally see Part 2 of Smash Ultimate’s newer alt costumes with all 12 DLC characters, and just in time for Thanksgiving too (I know Thanksgiving is over, but I was planning on getting this comment uploaded before the end of holiday)! 👍 Speaking of which: HAPPY LATE THANKSGIVING!!! 🦃🍽🍁 Anyway, these are all another excellent set of alts (even if I may not agree with all the choices myself personally)! 👌 Some of my favorites are Piranha Plant, Joker, Banjo & Kazooie, Byleth, Min-Min, Steve, Sephiroth, Homura/Hikari, and Sora, of course all of them are awesome! ❤️ It’s so nice that everyone has finally been included, and we can at long last put this series to rest! 🙏

The red pyra alt is actually based on the Monado as it makes her green accent blue. Plus the monado is technically the “xenoblade” according to the original title of the series during development

@@Siiroth in defense of Tennis Steve, anyone who played the Legacy Console Editions with another person knows Tennis Steve is basically the player 2 skin, since the second player's skin always defaults to that one. And honestly, the Legacy Console Editions of Minecraft are way more important than people give it credit for. So I'd say it's a good pick.

Terry’s 6th alt first appeared as his P2 color in Fatal Fury Special. It’s also appeared in Real Bout Fatal Fury and RBFF2.
In KOF Maximum Impact 2, Terry had an alt color referencing Sol Badguy from the Guilty Gear series. Would’ve been cool if that were added.

3 houses is my favorite game and your new alts were really good and true to the game.
I like what they did with soras alts but if they were to add new ones it would need to be for Riku/Ventus/roxas so you can keep the master xehanort or the rage form but the rest gotta go for these three haha. I know it would have taken a lot of work, but i would have loved for the last dlc for the alts to literally be reskins of the other key blade weilders like alf the koopalings and bowser jr

The color swap alt Pyra and Mythra have are actually outfits you can unlock in Xenoblade 2‘s Land of Challenge.
The Blue and white look could actually be a refrence to Rex‘s Master Driver Suit he gets after awakening Pneuma.
The „bolder“ alternate costume actually has a refrence not many people know about. Pyra has blue crystals in this alt instead of green. I‘m pretty sure that this is a refrence to „Shulk’s“ Monado in Xenoblade 1 which makes sense considering the Aegises in 2 and the Monado‘s in 1 are connected.
The Gold and Silver Alt might not have refrence but I always saw it as a refrence to Jin (a white haired antagonist in Xenoblade 2‘s Main Story) and Torna, the Golden Country. It kinda makes sense since Jin plays a major role in the Torna Expansion.
For the new alternate costumes I would have found it better if they had refrences to all the other Party Members in the Game. One referencing Nia and Dromarch, one referencing Vandham and Roc and one referencing Zeke and Pandoria.
For Eleven, Solo, and Eights alts the reference points aren't correct

for steve I was hopping one of these alts:
- A notch design (but knowing that Microsoft deleted every reference to notch... maybe that is imposible)
- Xmas herobrine (I remember that in pocket edition, there was a skin pack with christmas version of herobrine and other characters, also being a reference to... herobrine a creepy pasta character created by fans... but with the time get into the game with references like the "herobrine removed" in the actualizations and some skins)
If you’re gonna have a brighid and morag alt, can’t skip the other teams, zeke and pandora and tora and poppi alpha.

Purple-hair Byleth reminds me of Crona from Soul Eater; I love them, so I'd play as that one if it was in the game
I also would've loved Sora to have a Timeless River recolor that has Mickey Mouse's modern color scheme, although I understand how that wouldn't get in
0:27 Piranha Plant was paid dlc though. It was only free for a limited time but if you want him now, it costs money.

im not totally sure but i think a Tricolor aeronautical motif is just a fancy way of saying the kinds of coloration you would find on ships and planes. similar inspiration for things like gundam
I think if a xehanort costume for sora was a thing I think it would be neat if he also had the signature yellow eyes
I think the pink alt for piranha plant was inspired by the giant purple fish seen in the newer games, it has the same shade of purple and has the lips, the pot could be a reference to a water pipe seen in game.

Honestly if we did get a Yuri costume for Byleth, Alejandro Saab (kaggyfilms his voice actor) would be using that as a main more often

Actually, Piranha Plant _does_ hurt the wallet because not everyone got this game early, and those who didn't (i.e. smart purchasers who always wait before head diving into new releases) have to pay for him...which is so, so incredibly stupid. He should just always be free. The game and it's fighter passes have made enough money as is...plus he was revealed as DLC before the game even released! That's low...

me who watches nairo's stream: the only dlc alt i care about is the Sephiroth skin on Steve.
Pretty sure the pink piranha plant is supposed to reference piranha creepers but it can also do Galaxy as well also they didn't do a poison Parana plant costume is because he turns into that when he does his side special
Herobrine would have been the best, but nintendo probably knows how dangerous he was and didn't include him
I think Terry Mark of the Wolves costume should have sunglasses to replace his hat because, his taunts would look weird without something replacing the hat. There could be a possibility that they could have different taunts tho like how Cloud has a different final smash for his alt.
Pretty sure DQ hero’s eleven alt is based off of Angelo in dq8 and eights is based off of Terry from dq6, weird choices but they fit the colour palettes more and sakurai even used the Angelo alt in a photo of the day when celebrating dq8 anniversary
Tbh i would like the Hero to get the many outfit he can get on the original game as alt.
I mean have Erdwin's Outfit as an alt for the Luminary, it's still the luminary but it changes his appearance alot and references his late game and best gear outfit.

@Siiroth, the "bolder" colors on Pyra specifically are the same colors as the Monado, Shulk's sword.
Banjo's last black and green alt resembles their look on the Grunty's Goons Team in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolt's multiplayer mode.
It would be so cool that if you have save data of Minecraft on your switch you could your own skin
