Technology does not drop in price and the retailers who sell these "rich only toys" would rather throw them out after a new model is released instead of dropping the price of the old ones. Nothing ever drops in price. Cars, electronics, anything that we call advancement has stayed rigid in it's inaccessibility. The wealthy create lies of hope that one day we'll all be able to see these things in our homes. When in reality people aren't making enough to live in a shack and the idea of holograms or anything "modern" is so far beyond reach that it serves only as a reminder that you're already dead, you just don't know it yet.
