    Can u please make a video detailing the process by which an IMG gets registration and after what exam would they be eligible to work in Canada. As well as detailing time frames needed to prepare, and time frame it takes from starting the process till reaching the goal of practicing in Canada.
    Thank you,
    Best regards.

    justo despues de ver todos los videos tengo unas preguntas:
    lo que explicas del proceso de homologar la carrera es con el examen MCCQE1 y la residence medica junto con el NAC OSCE, puesto que me indicas que el material de estudio me sirve el mismo que hice durante mi años de estudiante en la facultad, pero por el cambio de pais no cambiarian mucho la epidemiologia y los manejos, en mi caso soy de colombia.
    2. Yo puedo seleccionar la provincia que deseo estudiar mi residencia medica? me gustaria realizarla en calgary.
    3. Aproximadamente cuando dinero se iria y cuanto duraria todo el proceso, hablando en terminos generales.
    Muchas Gracias!

    Hi Dr. Siva, A very informative video. Thankyou for making this such this it’s such a great help. I would also like to ask about NAC OSCE taking place in September virtually. Do we need to carry out the physical exam verbally ? Do we have 11 mins per station as before? Do we have SP and an examiner present at the same time? Do we have to list out our case findings verbally or written at the end of each station? Thank you once again. Your time is much appreciated!

    • @DrSivaMahalingam
      @DrSivaMahalingam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Yamini. Thanks for the message and watching the videos.
      As far as I know from today, yes it’s 11 mins per station and the physical exam is just done verbally by describing what you are going to do and what you will be looking for in the exam. You have an examiner and SP present but not sure how involved the SP will be.
      It’s all done verbally as far as I know but things can always change.
      Also just to make sure I’m not in any way associated with the MCC organization so all my knowledge is just though my own experience and talking to other candidates. Official information should be found directly from the MCC

    Hello Dr.Siva Mahalingam
    Really appreciate the clarity of information in your videos 👍
    Thankyou for all the information.
    I have a query ,
    Someone who has done their post-graduation from India needs to clear these exams And once they clear these exams do they have to do the post graduation all over again ? Or is there a different program for someone who is already a post graduate ? The practise ready assesment (PRA) program , does it let internationally trained post graduate doctors work in Canada in their speciality after clearing the exams?

    • @DrSivaMahalingam
      @DrSivaMahalingam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Sairah
      You can attempt to get your qualifications assessed through the various practice ready assessments programs. If you qualifications are accepted then you don't have to do residency over again. These practice ready assessments are quite tough to pass but it is possible to try this route first.

    • @DrSivaMahalingam
      @DrSivaMahalingam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aqhib,
      Thanks for the message. Best thing to do would be to try and get a fellowship in pediatrics first and then make some contacts here in Canada. Once you are here you can explore the avenues to becoming a specialist here. From what I understand, Indian paediatric qualifications are not directly recognized here even through the PRA route.
      Hope this helps.

    • @DrSivaMahalingam
      @DrSivaMahalingam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can apply for fellowship in Canada. Unfortunately you will most likely need to do residency again in order to work as a consultant here with an independent license to practice. Very rare to get approved with practice ready assessment coming from India. No. You wont get an independent license to practice after fellowship.

      Hi Thanks for watching.
      I specifically didn't have to write the NAC OSCE but I did write the MCCQE2 which was a very similar OSCE exam. I dedicated about 4 months for the MCCQE2 exam where I met 3 times a week with my study partner to practice questions. I would get a copy of the NAC OSCE : A comprehensive review book to help guide your study. Try and complete this book in the 4 month period. Working as a doctor is a good thing as you will be in touch with clinical medicine.
