JR thanks for working with me today & breaking down my game and giving me things to work on to improve my game. Also, thanks for correcting the fit on my ball & drilling my other balls. Best ball fit I’ve ever had. If anyone wants lessons or need a ball drilled, see JR, you won’t regret it. I drove up from Texas to see him.
First of all…you’re never a pest sir! You make THE most practical and easy to use tips for beginner to intermediate bowlers. So many of these bloggers talk in such complicated and convoluted terms that’s it’s almost like they’re talking to themselves. lol I appreciate every last video you make and they have changed my game almost immediately! Thank you so much for your time!
Great info.. Being a older bowler what helped me posted up was making sure i bent my knees a little from the start instead of standing straight up. Helps alot. Part of my set up from now on
I tried this in practice today and HOLY SH--!!!! I just over exaggerated my slide to the right and I didn't fall off a single shot because my head/chin was under my leg! I didn't even pull a shot over to Brook. Thank you for this!!!
I had to figure this out myself. That last step is so crucial. I thought that I couldn't find any balance because I'm overweight, but bringing that last step inwards made it so easy. I would step too far outwards rather than inwards. It made everything off. My swing was sticking out to the side, my trailing leg wasn't getting around me, but something as simple as that last step seemed to help a lot. Still more to be done though.
jr, when you say slide towards your target should we be sliding the number of boards away like the rule of eight to allow for the shoulder and ball, how do i get it right? thnx.
You mentioned center of your chest. Is that something you have mentioned in the past? I keep going back and forth between using my right shoulder and center of chest to aim. Could you elaborate on the best method?
Depends on how new they are sometimes they need to take 5-30 practice slides.. if that does not work they make shoe powder.. they also sell special covers as some lanes just stick more or if you have some mid-high tier shoes they have replaceable soles.
I took a video of myself to evaluate this. I appear to be sliding toward my target, but after delivery, I have a big hop to the right. I think it's poor upper body position. Is there a way to send you a short video clip?
WTH! I was always told to slide straight and my balance can be all over sometimes. I'm going to work on this with myself an my kid. We have the same issues...lol
Serious question. How does a morbidly obese person do that? I can end on my left leg with a little knee bend but I'm definitely not kicking my right leg behind and balancing on one foot. Is it okay to just keep your right leg back behind the body but not behind your left leg?

Great advice, JR. Thanks for the help.
I do the one step warm up for 5 frames every time I start my practice sessions. Great advice
Hi JR, “slide towards your target” is a very good tip for finishing balance ! Thanks 😊
PERFECT! .. this is EXACTLY what I need. This should help a LOT !! .. Thanks JR !!!
I am 60 so balance is definitely a problem for me. I will work on this, thanks JR.
This is literally my only issue when bowling. I routinely bowl in the 200s with awful balance always falling to my right. Thanks JR!
Always great advice, this is something i def need to work on, as i have balance issues. Thank you for this one
Thanks for your advice.. I will try to do this.. 👍👍👍
Slide to center, that's what Suzy Minshew taught me
great suggestion thank you JR!

If you have the "duck walk" or bowed legs would you just need to overemphasize the knee coming underneath the chin?
What is the name and address to the bowling center in Bethlehem pa?

I wish you would do these videos on the lanes so we can actually see it happen
What to do to get new shoes to slide?
